You close the book and glance out the window.

You just can't feel at ease.

Kayla, and Charlie are after you... Matt probably too.

You shift in your seat constantly. You keep wanting to open the book but you need to focus right now.

You can't go all they way to wherever Charlesdam is. They are expecting you there. You decide get off the bus before it can get all the way there. You dig in your bag for the bus's schedule. You finally find it and find three stops before your own at the end of the line. But which one do you get off at.

After thinking it over you decide on the stop after next. From there you plan to buy another ticket and take a bus headed elsewhere. You could care less at your destination at the moment. You are unsure where you will go or stay but your life is currently more important.

A small voice in the back of your head tells you to call the cops. But who will ever believe you? Your friend just suddenly had support human powers and now is out to kill you? They'll just lock you up thinking your high.

You run a hand through your hair and sigh.

"You stressed kid?" A voice asks. You turn to the man seated next to you. Previously he had slept the whole way but now he seems wide awake. His green eyes watch you curiously and his white mustache twitches as he awaits your answer.

"Just got a lot going on right now," You confess.

"Your too young to stress," he says.

You shrug.

He chuckles. "Live life and worry later. You can stress when you get to my age." He lays back in his seat pulling out a newspaper.

You close your eyes and decide to take the mans advice and lay back closing your eyes.

~~~~
You climb off the bus and instantly regret it.
Rain pours down. You think about getting back on the bus but you had already told them this is your stop. They'd find it weird if you got back on. You head into the bus terminal and head up the desk.
"I'm sorry," The woman behind the desk says as soon as you approach.
"What for?" You ask slowly.
"With this weather buses will not be coming or going until tomorrow afternoon or possible later. Sorry once again."
You mutter a few curses to yourself as you grab your bag and head out into the rain. In search of something... Now a normal person would stay in the terminal right? Right. But not someone who is being hunted down.
You venture into the streets and walk around the unfamiliar city. You pause in a CVS just long enough to buy an umbrella and poncho before continuing.
You walk and walk and walk. You finally come upon a ratty motel. It takes up a good portion of your money but you get a room for the night. Now you can't afford a bus ticket. You will be stuck here for a while. Until you can get to a bank but your not even sure how much is in your account at the moment.
You frown at the room's conditions but you'll have to make do. You peel off your wet clothes and lay them out to dry and pull on some dry ones before flopping down on the bed. Your so tired but you can't fall asleep. Your eyes land on the book. The stupid thing had ruined your life.
So why can't you give it up?
The thought of a person taking it from you was enough to make you want to throttle someone.
You shake the thoughts from your head and put the book on the table next to you. You close your eyes and let sleep come.
~~~~

You open your eyes groggily to find it is only 3 am.

You close your eyes once more but the sound of splattering rain pulls you from your sleep. You turn on the lamp and eyes scan the room for things to do and land on the book. You sigh to yourself as you reach for it. Slowly flipping to your page.

I was ready to destroy Asis by the time we left the tunnel.

The only thing stopping me was Cez. I don't care what he thinks but he has that stupid cure I need. I could always just kill him and take the potion for myself...

"How much longer?" Asis groans.

"Until I kill you?" I ask innocently. "About one more stupid comment."

"Eno- Actually just kill each other. I've had enough this," Cez says shaking his head.

"I'm game."

Cez rolls his eyes and glances at his sister who glares at the ground.

I smile to myself and take another step forward and my knees start to buckle. Hands stabilize me.

"It's getting late and the sun will set soon," Cez says. (Heh Cez says.) "We should find somewhere to stay for the night. Then I can brew another batch of medicine for you."

"We were only down there for like two hours," Asis comments. "We left early how is the sun about to set?"

"Time follows differently throughout the realms," I say as I push myself off of Cez standing on my own. "We can head east there's a forest and we can set up the tents over there."

"Can you make it that far?" Cez asks. "You can barely stand."

"I can't stand but, I can fly. You two go head. Find somewhere and once night falls I'll join you." Cez frowns but Asis grabs a bag from me and drags him off.

I sigh and sit on the ground as people pass me by. They give me strange looks and I just glare at them until they leave.

Once night falls I stretch my wings and take off. I ignore my pain as I fly toward the forest. My now red eyes scan for a fire. I soon spot one and descend. I land on my feet before I collapse.

"I knew that was a bad idea," Cez says as Asis drags me to where they sit near a fire. She drops me roughly on a log.

"Thanks," I mutter.

"Perfect timing," Cez nods as he looks over a pot at the fire.

"Is that food or medicine?"

"Medicine. You have the food bag remember?"

I blush and take the bag off my back. "Right."

He places a hand in the pot and pulls out a small vial. He comes over to me taking the bag and handing me the vial. I down it instantly.

"So what is are we really doing?" Asis questions.

"What do you mean?" I ask confused.

"What is the purpose of all of this? I understand you are an assassin and work for the rebels but, what does that have to do with where we are now?"

"I'm awaiting orders from the higher ups. I'm supposed to meet someone in the Outskirts between the Demon and Aie realms tomorrow for my orders. I guess you both must come with."

"Alright," Cez nods. "So I assume we leave early?"

"At dusk," I state.

"At dusk."

You curse as the lamp cuts out. Stupid motel. You consider heading for the desk to complain but you freeze as a sound in the darkness. You close the book slowly placing it on your lap.

Then a voice causes you to freeze with fear:

"Found you..."
