It hurt him to see her so successful.

At one point, he had the world at his fingertips.  He had been promised gold, and he had gladly taken it.

Then, his injury ruined everything going good for him.

It ruined everything except for her.

She was there by his side through the whole thing, and when he was finally better, she left him.  It didn't even matter to him that he could wrestle now because she was no longer around.

Seeing her beat Sasha Banks for the Raw Women's Championship made him feel something toward her he hadn't felt before: anger.
