Shaw

Shaw picked you up at your house and you guys were driving to dinner when a car went speeding by!

Shaw-''What the hell?!''

You-''Whoa. Someone's in a hurry.''

Then two police cars drove by after the car.

Shaw-''They're gonna lose that guy. I think I know where he's headed.''

Shaw looked at you.

You-''Duty calls. I understand.''

Shaw-''It'll only take a few minutes, promise.''

You-''Alright.''

You said as you buckled up.

Shaw-''Wait, I didn't actually mean you should come along.''

You-''I've been in a worse situation before. You recall that?''

Shaw-''I do.''

You smiled at Shaw and he immediately knew you weren't going anywhere.

Shaw-''Hang on!''

Shaw stepped on the gas and drove off at lighting speed after the other police cars and eventually passed them and focused on the speeding car. You were breathing so fast because everything was happening so fast.

Shaw-''Hang on, Y/N!''

You held onto anything you could as Shaw made a hard left turn after the speeding car.

Shaw-''You ok,  Y/N?!''

You-''I'm not sure what I'm feeling right now, John!''

Shaw-''Alright, because I'm gonna need you to take the wheel!''

You looked at Shaw.

You-''Are you serious?!''

Shaw-''It'll just be for a moment! I need your help if we want this speeding car to come to a stop in the safest way possible without anybody getting hurt!''

You-''Ok!''

Then Shaw was driving behind the car.

Shaw-''Take the wheel!''

You unbuckled your seat belt, moved over onto Shaw's seat and took the wheel as Shaw got up and climbed through the window a little bit until he was sitting on the frame. Then Shaw aimed his gun and fired a single shot at the speeding car's back tyre. The tyre popped, the guy lost control of the car and it spun until it came to stop against another car that was parked in the street. You hit the breaks and stopped the car. Shaw climbed completely out of the car as the other policemen pulled up and got out of their cars.

You-''Oh, man.''

You watched as they arrested the guy that was in the car and you moved back into your seat as Shaw came back to the car and got in.

Shaw-''Hey, you did great.''

You-''Thank you. Is everything ok now?''

Shaw-''Yeah. But are you alright?''

You-''Yeah. I'm good. You're job is very scary....but exciting at the same time.''

Shaw-''Thanks. I'm sorry that this happened. Guess we're not going to make it to our dinner in time.''

You-''This was the best first date I've ever had.''

You said smiling making Shaw smile.

Shaw-''I can tell you mean that. Thanks for helping and trusting in my decision.''

You-''You've saved my life once before, so I'm going to always trust you with my life.''

You both smiled at each other.

Shaw-''Hey, why don't I take you somewhere better than a dinner?''

You-''Alright.''

Then Shaw took you to the precinct, he got Samuel and all three of you went for a walk in the park and got some ice-cream later.

Nick

Nick took you to the movies but he wouldn't tell you what movie you two were going to see.

You-''Are you gonna tell me what we're going to watch, Nick?''

Nick-''It's a surprise, Y/N.''

You both sat down and it ended up being a horror movie and you weren't a fan of that genre. But much to your surprise, you ended up loving the suspence of the film and the crazy twist at the end of it.

You-''That was a great movie!''

You said with a huge smile as both of you walked to Nick's car.

Nick-''I thought you didn't like horror films?''

You-''I didn't until now! Yeah, I know my popcorn went flying into the people sitting behind us and I screamed...a lot. But it was fun!''

You smiled but then realised something.

You-''Mr. Malloy!''

Nick-''What?''

Nick asked as he stopped and faced you.

You-''You sneaky little....you were trying to scare me weren't you?''

Nick-''What? Me? NO!''

You burst out laughing at his reaction.

Nick-''Hey, ok! You got me. I was actually trying to scare you.''

You playfully punched his arm.

You-''I'm gonna get you back for this.''

Nick-''Hey, it already backfired on me because my plan didn't work.''

You-''Serves you right.''

Nick-''Alright. I deserve that.''

You and Nick hugged.

You-''I'm still gonna get payback for tonight.''

Nick-''Should I be worried?''

You-''Yes.''

You smiled. Then you both got in the car and Nick took you home.

Jake

Jake took you to a nice restaurant because it was different from what you're use to.

You-''You know, you didn't have to bring me to a fancy place like this.''

Jake-''Well, I wanted to be a gentleman and treat you like a lady.''

You smiled.

You-''Thank you. But you didn't have to go through all this trouble, Jake.''

Jake-''It was no trouble at all. Besides, Amanda may have mentioned that guys never treated you right because of your job.''

You-''Yeah. They thought that because I work at a bar that I'm not a proper lady. And maybe I do come across that way but when you work at a bar...''

Jake-''You gotta be tough because of all the jerks?''

You-''Yeah.''

You smiled.

You-''Well, what about you?''

Jake-''What about me?''

You-''If you don't mind me asking, what made you want to become a marine?''

Jake-''I think the number one reason was to serve my country. And mostly I just needed to get out of this little town because I knew there was something more out there for me and I wasn't gonna get far if I didn't get out of here.''

You-''That's great. So, how long have you been a marine?''

Jake-''Over ten years. I saw a different part of the world every time I left.''

You-''You never stick around here for too long, huh?''

Jake-''No. I'm actually headed back in two weeks.''

You-''Really?''

Jake-''I didn't wanna tell you tonight on our first date.''

You-''It's alright. You have to go back some time.''

Jake-''Yeah. But I didn't come back thinking I was gonna...''

Jake paused.

You-''What?''

Jake-''Meet you.''

You both smiled.

Jake-''I'm gonna be gone for months on end....I can't ask you to wait for me. It wouldn't be fair to you.''

You-''Jake, you're not being unfair to me. We met for a reason just like you have a reason to serve this beautiful country.''

You took Jake's hand.

You-''And when you're out there, you just keep in mind that you have me as one more reason to come back.''

You said smiling making Jake smile.

You-''So, promise me you'll come home?''

Jake-''I promise.''

Jake kissed your hand.
