At one point, Kai was on his feet, looking to have Adam bring the fight to him, but it seemed like Cole was adamant about it, so he looked for the superkick and gave it to him.

Then, Adam doesn't seem pleased because when he brought Kai back on his feet, he ran to the ropes and gave him a very hard kick to the back of his left thigh!

Very soon after that, the crowd boos at Adam so heavily that he didn't care.

Narrator: On November 8th, 2019, Kai would be hurt from Adam Cole, forcing Hosako to be out of action for three months with a torn quad.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): This actually makes me emotional because it was the very first injury I ever had in my life. Looking back on it now, it just makes me feel like I'm on borrowed time, and I am. While I was out, I saw that Masami had been given opportunities to wrestle and stand in for me as a heel.

Io/Masami (subtitles): I was happy to stand in for Kai as he healed up, but deep down, I think he wanted to be out there with me. I couldn't blame him because he really wanted to keep wrestling, but deep down, I think he was losing confidence in himself.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Seeing her alone without me over there was something I hated seeing. I really did hate it, but self-confidence issues during my recovery was a struggle. Of course, Kaori and Masami had confidence for me to help me get back into it.

Narrator: On February 16, 2020, Kai Hosako would make his shocking return to NXT, attacking Adam Cole and challenging for NXT Championship, the one title Kai had never won before, but had a goal in mind.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): After I came back, I was ready to declare war. He hurt me, and now I wanted to hurt him, but the crazy part about this whole thing is that there was never an autistic NXT Champion before, so I wanted to be the first. The next few weeks, I sent a message to Adam and the Undisputed Era, letting them know that I was gonna hurt them however I wanted, and for that, I'm not gonna give up. I'm going to win.

Narrator: However, on March 4th, 2020, Kai called in some backup to help him and the NXT Tag Team Champions, The Broserweights with the Undisputed Era, and who came to their aid was someone nobody ever expected...

Renallo: THE KING HAS GRACED US WITH HIS PRESENCE! MINORU SUZUKI IS IN NXT!!!

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Adam and those guys, they were dumbasses. They didn't know that I'd have friends outside of NXT, and they definitely were taken off their game.

Minoru Suzuki(subtitles): No, I can't really say I enjoyed being there. Reason why is because I'm more of a New Japan guy than a WWE guy because of how the company was trying to destroy Japanese wrestling, but Kai needed help against the Undisputed Era with the Broserweights. I always made the promise, you need help, I will help you. He meant a lot to me then, and he means a lot to me now. He's my son, I won't turn him down for nothing.

Regal: In the main event, it will be the Undisputed Era, taking on the Broserweights, and the team of Ren Hosako, and Minoru Suzuki!

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Teaming with the Broserweights and with my father figure? It went great. We had a blast.

Footage of Ren and Suzuki entering for the 8 man tag match with Io trailing them down the ramp before it skips straight to Minoru going crazy on a UE member, doing his comeback.

Then, it goes to the end, featuring Kai performing the Brainbuster and getting the pinfall as he smiles at the rest of the UE with his tongue sticking out at them.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Definitely should've mentioned this but the reason I stick my tongue out with a grin on my face? It's to intimidate my opponent, to let them know that gonna win the war that he started, and his cute little boyfriends? They ain't coming home to mama. *laughs*

Narrator: On March 18th, 2020, during a contract signing to declare the match for the NXT Championship, Ren would run Adam Cole down and insult him with his long but scathing promo.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): I wanted to send a final message to Adam and let him know that I was gonna win the title and I was gonna make him the loser, but taking my eye off of him was a mistake, a big one, in fact.

Adam looks to superkick Kai, but Masami pushes Kai out of the crosshairs, taking the kick that was intended for him and goes down on her back in a spread eagle position.

Renallo: NO! Io Shirai taking the kick for her man!

Phoenix: Adam Cole better get out of the ring while he still can! Hosako's gonna go crazy!

McGuiness: Adam, get outta there!

Kai scrambles up to his feet, runs to her unconscious body, and caresses Masami's beautiful face, concerned about her well-being, as he is on the verge of tears of seeing her like this.

After feeling Masami's pulse through her wrist, where he gets a heartbeat, Kai immediately runs up towards Adam, tackles him, and goes off on him, not caring about security trying to get in the ring to pull Hosako away from Cole.

Renallo: Adam Cole has crossed the line, and Hosako is upset by what happened to his girl! I don't blame him!

Kai is seen sitting in the chair, disturbed by reliving that painful moment he had to go through in his life, if not career.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Thinking about that still makes me feel like shit, because I did nothing to protect her. I knew I should've had her stay in the back, keep her safe, but I never did.

Then, not being his usual happy self, he bends forward and has his hands around his neck for a bit before bending back up to the camera with his eyes watering with his left hand covering his mouth.

Kai/Ren(subtitles; voice cracking): It really hurt me. No pain, just anxiety and other things, you know? She's my rock, right? Whenever I look back on it, I cry, because she meant so much to me. I love her so much.

Pictures of Kai and Masami spending time together are seen, as one photo in particular, where Masami is laying on Kai's chest with a smile as they snuggle on a couch and he takes the picture in selfie mode with his phone.

Another one is shown when Kai is smiling, having a great time with Masami at a small restaurant, with less people, where she kisses his cheek out her love for him.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Seeing my own girl get hurt was something I never forgot about, so the next week, I bought a bat, since the next Takeover was in Tampa Bay, paying homage to the Rays, started beating Adam Cole with it until he ran away from me.

Narrator: Ren Hosako was hell-bent on punishing Adam Cole, but in a way that would make the Hardcore Icon and WWE Hall of Famer, Mick Foley, very, very proud.

He smiles as he twirls yhe bat around with one hand, wanting to announce the match Hunter had given him approval to proclaim in the best English he can muster.

Adam: Then go home, you psycho!

Kai: Now, with what you have done a week ago, I now coming to Tampa Bay to kill you, and take your title! At Takeover, at Tampa Bay, Adam Cole, Ren Hosako, for NXT Championship, inside...

As the crowd goes silent...

Kai: HELL IN A CELL!!!

Footage of the crowd throughout Full Sail ERUPTS as soon as "Hell In A Cell" was proclaimed in the most fluent English Kai can muster without his lisp getting in the way.

Kai is smiling with his tongue touching the side of his upper teeth when the fans cheer and they even start doing the "yes" chant.

Kai/Ren(subtitles): Hunter knew how much of a big deal me wanting to be the first ever autistic NXT Champion is and with Masami getting hurt, it made things personal to me. It wasn't about the kayfabe heel versus babyface bullshit anymore. It was real, and I was wanting to kill this guy after what he had done to my girl. And with Hell In A Cell taking place at Takeover: Tampa Bay, in the main event, it was war, and I promised to make him bleed like what happened to my girlfriend.
