Dean's POV
"Big dog, I can't believe you didn't win, and worse, you bled," I started to my best friend that day.
"Dean, I'm fine."
I rolled my eyes and then slapped him on the arm. I knew he was hurting, Sasha told me.
Also, he was my brother and best friend. He couldn't hide anything from me.
"I know how much it hurt you, your pride, and your body," I told him.
He chuckled and then nodded. I knew when he was hurt. Hell, I was even there when Scott told him to stay off his feet.
We went to the gym, as Shane said he had some major announcements.
"Students, I just want to say congratulations on all your WrestleMania matches," Shane started. "Now, with that being said, I'd like to welcome the SmackDown Live General Manager, Daniel Bryan!"
Daniel came out and we all did the yes! chants. He got in the ring with Shane and then he held up a microphone.
"I just wanted to say that I am no longer going to be the SmackDown Live General Manager. I've been cleared to wrestle and have found someone to take my position on Team Blue."
Within a splitting second, we heard Paige's theme hit and she walked out. She had been told she couldn't wrestle a few weeks ago, due to her neck issues.
This was even better.
Now she got to be GM and work alongside Shane.
"Man, this is new to me! But I'm so excited, and can't wait to start," Paige said as she and Daniel hugged.
Shane then announced that we'd be having BackLash as our last PPV, which was happening tomorrow, and where almost anyone was eligible to compete.
Except me, of course.
Man, I hated being injured.
"Guys this is my chance to go against Rollins!" Kevin cheered.
"Kev, the people have seen that match like a million times, nobody wants to see it again," Seth answered.
I rolled my eyes and waited for what else Shane had to say. I enjoyed assemblies because we got out of class and I got to sit with my friends.
"Next, your drafts we gave you the other week were just temporary. Now that Mania is over, you'll get your official WWE contract for either Raw or SmackDown Live!"
We all cheered as now I could go to SDL, and that made me beyond exited, as I didn't like Stephanie at all.
"Maybe I'll finally go to SDL," I whispered to Roman who just shook his head.
Shane announced that he'd call the people who would be changing shows down to his office later in the afternoon. I was looking forward to that, as I was hoping that he'd call my name.
"And our last announcement, he is coming back to finish his senior year, please welcome Bobby Lashley!"
Bobby came out and we all cheered for him. He had been here freshman year, but then medical injuries prevented him to come back for sophomore and junior year.
He took a seat on the bleachers next to Apollo, who was cheering him on. We were sent back to class and I hated English class.
Stephanie was here today, which was an upset, as we couldn't stand her. We were just reading Shakespeare, apparently we had to read one of his stories every year.
"Honestly, this Macbeth guy deserves to die," Seth said as he flipped through the pages.
"He literally kills people to become King. I think if we act this out, Rollins should play him," Kevin snickered from the back of the class.
This week was our last week of school. Senior year had been great. BackLash was okay, Seth retained his championship, but other than that, I didn't really care.
I was still going to Raw, unfortunately after Mania, I wasn't one of the chosen ones to switch brands. However, I still had Roman and Seth.
As for Alexa and I, we had broken up, like most of the couples at this school. John and Nikki had ended it a few weeks ago, and Nikki took AJ to prom.
"Dean, I'm so sad I'm not going to see you anymore," Nikki told me as we left English.
"Nik, you'll still see me, just not as much. We can see each other when the PPV's combine."
She scrunched her nose. "Dean, that's only four times a year."
"Five, Money in the Bank is now a both branded PPV."
She rolled her eyes and then we were sent to see the Miz. We only had his class and English today, because it was an early dismissal.
"Well, this is my last time seeing you guys," Miz sighed as he pulled his computer out. "We're not doing anything. I figure you guys probably want to have fun with your friends."
We nodded and I thought of all the memories the Academy had given me. I met my best friend here, Roman. Man, he was always going to be my brother.
Sure, Seth and I had our fights, but at the end of the day, he was one of my best friends.
As much as I hate school, the academy does a good job with that, they made school feel like a hobby, not so much work.
I was glad to be getting away from the Miz, as I couldn't stand him. But we had had a rivalry since my sophomore year.
After Miz's class, Paige caught up with me.
"So, you're really not going to be on Smackdown?" She asked me with a sigh.
"No, I'm still pissed about it."
She laughed and then looked at me. "Thank you. For everything you've done for me at the academy, and for being one of the people who accepted me."
I was taken back by her words. We had dated freshman year and junior year, but I never loved her any less.
"Paige, I love you, I think you know that. We've both dated a lot of people here, but I think we can agree that we've been at our best when we're with each other."
She nodded and then a smile formed on her lips. I then kissed her.
What a journey it's been, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Thank you WWE Academy.
