Dean's POV

I had to break up with Paige. She and I hadn't been working, and I had kissed Alexa.

Not that I regretted it.

I called her. "Hey, can we talk?"

"Sure," she answered. "I'll be over soon."

I opened my dorm door for her, thank goodness Seth was out with Charlotte. He didn't need to know about this.

I instantly heard a knock at the door and let her in.

"Paige, listen, I have to tell you something."

She put we hand to her ear to show me she was listening.

"Look, I don't know why I ever thought we should get back together, but I did. Our relationship didn't work the first time, and I thought maybe it could work this time, but no," I started.

She looked at me. "I know what you mean, this hasn't been working. I've been jealous of Alexa, and I haven't been trusting you."

"Yeah, listen, I'm not going to sugar coat this. I kissed Alexa, and I have no regrets about it, and I think we need to break up," I let it all off my chest.

"Huh, I knew there was something more between you two. Not that I care, because I've been seeing Baron Corbin all week, and by seeing I mean kissing him."

I was shocked. "So, no hard feelings?"

She laughed. "Of course not! I'm glad you told me instead of keeping it from me."

We hugged goodbye and then she left my dorm. I felt like a bunch of weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I had kissed Alexa and now told Paige.

"I knew it wouldn't last," Seth smirked coming into the room.

"Excuse you?"

He sat down on his bed with a smirk on his face. "You and Paige. I knew it wasn't going to last, because you two are just the kind of people that just can't stay together."

I sighed. He was correct, Paige and I hadn't worked in the past, so I didn't know why I assumed it would work this time around.

"Dean, don't feel bad, no one's relationship will be as bad as mine," he started. "I mean, think of last year, Char and I were almost on and off the entire year."

I nodded my head in agreement. Then again, that was the typical Charlotte and Seth. I just didn't want people thinking that I was a man-whore.

"Yeah, but that's typical for you and Charlotte."

He rolled his eyes and then I left the dorm. I wanted to go talk to Alexa about my breakup and that we date her openly now.

However, on the way there, I got stopped by Samoa and Roman about to square off in the hallway.

"You won't win against me, I'll put your ass to sleep!" Joe yelled.

"We're still on this? You literally have one finisher and it automatically makes you win!"

"Who are you to judge someone because they have one finisher? The spear is the most generic finishing maneuver I've ever seen!"

"Listen, if you want a shot at my Intercontinental Championship, all you have to do is step up, and I've told you that."

I walked over to them. "Roman, let's go, you can stay with Seth and I."

He nodded and then walked up to the dorm. I was hoping Seth would go stay with Charlotte, then Roman and I could hang out, just like last year.

I knocked on Alexa's door, but I was surprised when Nia Jax opened the door.

"What do you want?"

"I'm here to talk to Alexa," I started. "Also, you're boyfriend was about to square off with Reigns in the hall."

"Yeah, he's pretty mad," she started. "Wait, how'd you know about Samoa and I?"

"Word travels fast around here."

She nodded and then stepped aside to let me in. She walked up the stairs to go calm Samoa down, or at least I hoped.

My phone dinged and I looked down.

Seth Scumbag Rollins: What is the big dog doing in our room?

I groaned and decided that I would just tell him later. I walked in to find Alexa sitting on her bed on her phone.

"Hey," I said as I sat down next to her.

She looked up from her phone. "Hi, I wondered who Nia was talking to."

"So, listen, about that kiss we had the other week-" she cut me off.

"Yeah, I feel bad about it, because you have a girlfriend, and I shouldn't have done it."

"Well, Paige and I broke up, so I'm single."

She smiled. "Really?"

I nodded my head and then we kissed again. This was good for me, a new relationship. Nikki and Roman had it all wrong. I didn't need to get back together with Paige, I think if anything, I needed someone to keep my mind off of her.

Nikki's POV

Today we were having cheer tryouts. I was excited, as I was going to be hosting them. The Shield boys had agreed to judge, which made things so much easier on me.

"Nikki, it sucks that this was your idea and you can't even tryout," Carmella said as we stopped at her locker.

"I know, but don't worry, I'll still be there, at everything we go to."

In my head, I was super disappointed. When Carmella and I thought of this idea at the beginning of the year, my neck was fine, but as the year went by, my neck was starting to hurt again.

"I just hope people take us seriously, because I used to cheer when I was younger," Carmella finished getting her books.

"Yeah, I'm still happy Shane let us have auditions, and that the Hounds of Justice agreed to judge."

She nodded and then we headed up the stairs. We decided to have the auditions on a half day so everyone could make it for sure.

"I know Alexa is trying out, but I don't know of anyone else for sure," I stated as we walked into see the Miz.

"Oh, this is the best day ever! The theatre program is coming back!" Miz cheered as we walked into his room.

We all just looked at each other in confusion. No one even knew we had a drama program at any point in time, because since we've all been here, nobody had mentioned it to us.

"Why do we need a theatre program?" Dean raised his hand in question.

"Oh come on, it'll be fun! We can dance and sing!" Carmella cheered across the room.

"That seems like too much exercise for me, I'm out," Kevin started. "So is Zayn."

Sami turned his head towards him. "Kevin, you're not my mom, you can't make decisions for me."

Kevin rolled his eyes and I couldn't wait for this class to be over. The sooner it was, the sooner we could start cheer auditions.

Once the Miz's class finally ended, I rushed out of the classroom. The gym was empty, so I went in and with Carmella. We set up the table and got paddles 1-10.

"We hate Hunter, yes we do! We hate Hunter, how bout you?" Seth came in cheering.

"Colby, we're not trying out for the team," Dean said as they all took their seats.

"I know, but that was pretty good, you have to admit."

Dean and Roman rolled their eyes as all three of them sat down. They looked through the paddles and waited for the auditions.

"I hope this is a success, Nikki," Sasha told me as she put on some shorts.

"Me too, I'm really happy that The Shield agrees to judge, it made things easier on me," I answered, watching the girls come in.

I saw Alexa, Lana, and Becky all huddled together, working on some three person stunt, and I saw Charlotte doing back handsprings across the gym floor.

"Okay, cheer auditions, it's the perfect place to showcase our new cheer, Shelton," Chad Gable came in with his new partner, Shelton Benjamin.

"You guys are trying out for the team?" Jimmy smirked, as he was here to watch Naomi.

"'No, but I have finally mastered your language," Chad started. "We say Uce, y'all say no! Uce-"

"No!" Shelton finished.

They kept doing that for about a minute, before they stopped. They girls had all lined up and were ready to audition, even though most of them were going to make the team.

"Hello, and welcome to cheer tryouts! There are three judges in front of you, and they promised me they wouldn't be bias," I shot all three of them a look.

"We know, we know, we can't play favorites," Seth smirked.

The other two nodded and then the tryouts started, and Alexa volunteered to go first. She had her hair in her signature pigtails and started a routine of flips and then Lana and Becky helped her pull of her stunt.

I would definitely be making that a mount group. As they all worked well together, and Alexa was clearly going to be a flyer for the team.

"That was great," Seth said and they all gave them a score.

The rest of the auditions went on, and everyone made the team, just as I had suspected.

"I just wanted to thank you all for coming to the tryouts and for participating," I said to all the girls.

I walked out with Carmella, who had made it as a flyer, along with Alexa.

"Nikki, that went well, thanks for talking to Shane about it."

I laughed and gave her a hug. I was glad that the auditions went well.
