FORTY NINE

Tino kissed the side of my head as I climbed into the car. I groaned as Vince got into the Driver's seat. Tino was only wearing a pair of black sweatpants -no footwear and no shirt. His hair was a beautiful mess.

He held the phone up, a stern look on his face. I rolled my eyes and took the phone from him. It had been a whole day since Gianni left and we'd been been trying to reach him but he'd been busy.

"Hey angel. I heard you were throwing a tantrum" I shivered at the sound of Gianni's voice, a smile grazing my lips.

"I wasn't throwing a tantrum" I pouted, glancing at Tino who wasn't impressed and I felt a little bad that I had stressed him out.

"That's not what Tino is fucking telling me" Gianni growled in a tone that he had never spoken to me in. I stared down at my sandals-clad feet, tears welling in my eyes.

"You're gonna go to the mall, I don't give a flying fuck about what you do. You better not come home with that attitude. Sono chiaro?" I nodded, sniffling as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Words, Angel" he growled and I wiped the tears off my face with the back of my palm. I shoved the phone at Tino who sighed and took it from me.

I slammed the door shut, my eyes already hurting and I hadn't even cried as much as I wanted to.

"Cosa le hai detto? I just needed you to-" Tino spoke, sighing as he stopped midway. He pinched the bridge of his nose while I cried.

It was the first time Gianni had yelled at me and I hated it.

"I can handle one baby throwing a tantrum but two? Chiudi quella cazzo di bocca, Gianni! Lei sta piangendo..." Tino sighed and hung up before he turned to me.

"I know-"

"I don't wanna talk to you" I sniffled and he sighed, combing his fingers through his hair.

"Vince, please drive" I told Vince and Tino groaned. Vince instantly heeded to my request and he drove off.

"We could make a stop at the amusement park" Vince suggested and I exhaled, looking up at him. I wiped my tears away and looked up at Vin.

He winked at me and I smiled.

"I've never been to an amusement park before" I confessed and he chuckled.

"I figured. Wipe those tears, si?" He held out a white handkerchief for me to take and I took it, mumbling a 'thank you'.

An hour later, I had a grin on my face and clung to Vince's arm. He laughed while I looked around like an excited bee.

There was a large Ferris wheel, a few stalls to win teddy bears, souvenir stores, cotton candy.

My mouth watered at the sight of a kid holding a roll of blue cotton candy.

"Let's get cotton candy first!" I mumbled distractedly as I pulled a chuckling Vince along with me.

Vince paid for our cotton candy and right after that, he played a couple of games and won me a few stuffed toys to add to my pillow collection including one ugly fish that I decided to name 'Gianni'.

I wasn't taking that back.

Stepping into the souvenir shop, I bought a friendship bracelet for Vince and I. The two bracelets had the infinity sign in the middle while one had the word 'best' on the sign, the other had 'friends' on it.

"I'm taking the one with friends on it. Cause..." I mumbled and snapped the bracelet on his wrist. Looking up at him, he had a soft smile on his face. I held my hand out for him to put mine on and he did, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

"You feel better?" He asked when we approached the tall Ferris wheel.

"Mhmm. I'll definitely feel much better if I get on that death trap" I whispered giddily. He laughed and led me towards the death trap.

After riding the Ferris wheel three times with Vince looking like a whiteboard but with no expression on his face. My throat was sore from how loud I was screaming in thrill and excitement.

As Vince drove us home, I giggled as I hugged the stuffed toys to myself. I stared at the bracelet on my wrist and my smile slowly dropped as I realized that I'd have to face Tino.

A car ran into ours from the back and I screamed as I was thrown forward.

"Fuck!" it was Vin who cursed and I looked back, eyes wide. A large bank car was speeding up, trying to hit ours.

"Get down, Bambino" I did as he'd asked with my heart racing. Tears welled in my eyes and the glass from behind cracked. I didn't need anybody to tell me that it was a bullet.

The car rammed into ours one more time, causing it to spiral out of control. I held my breath as the car stopped. Vince climbed out and held his gun out, searching around for whoever trailed after us.

"Climb out of the car, Wura" I did as he'd asked on shaky legs. He pulled the door open for me and stood behind him.

"Hands up and hand over the puttana!" A voice called from the left and Vin turned to it. A man in all black stood, holding a gun.

"How about you fuck off?" Vin called and I didn't realized when he pulled the trigger of his gun but the man fell to the ground, dead.

"Fuck" Vince cursed and before we could make another move, we heard another voice.

"Perfect aim. Wanna do it again this time?" A bald headed man called but this time, he was right across us, in front a familiar black car.

A large gun in his hand with a sadistic smirk on his face. The gun moved from Vince to me.

I shut my eyes tight, waiting for the bullet to hit me when I heard a groan. My eyes fluttered open and a sob wrenched through my lips.

The left part of his white shirt was soaked in blood. His ring clad fingers pressed against his chest and he stared into my eyes.

I saw two things I'd never seen before.

Regret and fear.

Tears were in his eyes and I could feel my soul leave my body.

"R-run" he coughed out and I fell to my knees, my vision blurring. I held my shaking hands up and pressed it against his chest.

"Fucking run, bambino!" His voice was choked like he was struggling to speak. He sounded like he was gurgling on blood.

However, I was only hearing the words. They didn't register.

"V-vin?" I whispered, tears rolling down my cheeks. I sniffled as reality hit me.

"Y-you'll be...you'll be okay. You'll be fine. I-I'll call Gi-Gianni- he's not in the country." I rambled off. My vision blurring and spinning.

The lower part of my white dress was covered in blood from the shards of glass that hit my thigh.

I wiped the tears away from my face and searched around for his phone, patting his pockets. I found it and pressed in Tino's number I could recite even in my sleep.

Tears rolled down my cheeks and I sobbed. I knew those people were still out there.

"Vi-"

"T-Tino...s-someone was sh-shooting at us. Vince is hurt" I cried, the tears were unending. I wanted to stop. I really did but I couldn't.

"Fuck! Keep talking to me, Fiore. I'll be..." I couldn't hear the rest of his words as I peeked up and noticed the man hiding and holding up a gun like he was waiting for Vince to shoot.

I gulped and picked the slightly heavy gun, I shakily pointed it at him and let my finger rest on the trigger.

I felt like I was going to pass out soon and the man began to walk towards the car we were hiding behind.

I pressed the trigger just as I felt a heavy hit to the head. Did I scream? I wasn't too sure about that because my world spun around. I could myself staring at blue clouds before a head popped into my vision.

Those beautiful innocent blue eyes.

I'd never forget them.
