The Boy's Bear

(Story inspired in my way by the image above.)

A little boy opened the door to his little house. The little boy walked across his porch and almost into the woods near his house when a rustle in the bushes caught his attention. "hello?" he called. A teddy bear about his size crept slowly into view. It looked scared. "Oh, hello! Would you like to come and play with me?" The little boy asked the bear. It nodded its furry head. the little boy smiled and beckoned the bear toward him. "What shall we play?" He questioned. The bear tapped the little boy's shoulder and ran away. Happiness glinted in its coal-black eyes. The little boy laughed and chased the bear into the woods. He tackled the bear into a hug. They played for hours until the little boy's mother called him in for dinner.

They ran together up to the little boy's small home. The little boy's mother opened the door and screamed. She grabbed the little boy's arm and pulled him close, shoving the poor bear off the porch. She slammed the door shut. The little boy pulled away and looked out the window, he saw the poor sad bear limping away. The little boy sniffled and ran out the door before his mother could stop him.

The bear turned around as the little boy hugged him. It hugged back and rested its head on the little boy's shoulder. Tears streamed down his face. He held the bear tightly and refused to let go. The bear comforted the little boy. The little boy's mother came out holding a needle and thread. She examined the bear's leg and found a small tear in the fabric. She pulled the bear out of her son's grasp gently. "I'm sorry." She said and stitched up its leg. She set the bear down slowly and gently. The bear grabbed the little boy's hand and lead him inside the house with the little boy's mother. The bear had a new family in the house. He was the little boy's friend.

He was the little boy's bear.
