[Chapter 2]
{Half an Hour Later}
"Everybody! Dinner's ready!"Beth says from the kitchen. You, your mother, and Jane help set up the table for dinner. Jerry and your father come in talking.
"And then I was like, 'You can go away because I got a life to live!'."
Your father and Jerry laugh. Everyone just looks at them, with a brow raised, no laughter heard. "Oh, Jerry! That was hilarious!"Your father says calming down.
"Finally! Someone who gets my humor!"Jerry says with a smirk.
"Great, J-Jerry. You f-OOUU-nd an idiot like yourself."Rick says sitting down.
"Dad!"Beth says looking at Rick.
"I wasn't f-III-nished. A-At least this idiot has a job. Hey, Robert, what do you do for a living?"
"I'm home real estate agent. I help people look for houses to live in."Your father says sitting down. Beth looks impressed.
"Oh really? Th-That sounds l-III-ke an actual job."Rick says smugly at Jerry,"Jerry here is actually an ad advertiser."
"Oh really?"Your father says looks at Jerry.
"Yeah."Rick says,"Now tell me, Robert. How many houses have you sold for the past year?"
"Hm..."Your father thinks for a moment as he did the math,"About over 10."
"R-EEAA-lly? That's pretty s-successful."Rick says.
"Thank you."
"N-Now ask Jerry how ma-AAA-ny sales he made."Rick says smirking. Your father looks at Jerry who smiled nervously.
"Now there's no reason to brag about how many I sales I made."Jerry says chuckling nervously.
"Aw c'mon, Jerry. I'm sure you made loads of sales."Your father says.
"Yeah, Jerry."Rick says,"H-OOO-w many sales did you make?"
"One... None."He says sadly.
"S-See, Beth?"Rick says smirking. Beth nods. You just roll your eyes as everyone sat down. Jane sat next to Morty. You see that there's only one more seat next to Rick. You clicked your tongue in annoyance. You walk over to your seat and sat down, arms crossed. You sat between Morty and Rick. Morty blushed and Rick rolled his eyes. You all began to eat.
"So, (Y/n)."Beth says. You snap your gaze up at her. "Since you're the same age as Summer, you'll be going to the same school as well?"
"Uh yeah. I guess."You shrug as you continued to eat, you slightly whip your hair to the side of your head.
"Did you have a lot of friends back in your old school?"
"Yeah. Tons."You say sarcastically,"No not a lot. But I've been a few fights, taken care of some snobby bitches-"
"Language, (Y/n)."Your mother says forking a string bean.
You roll your eyes,"Ch, pardon my French."You say.
'She's so cool...' Summer thinks to herself. "So uhm, do you like any celebrities, (Y/n)?"
"Wow, Summer. You're such a seventeen year old."Rick says in irritation.
"Um I wasn't talking to you, Grandpa Rick. I was talking to (Y/n)."Summer snaps.
"Well,"You say forking a broccoli,"I like (C/n)..."
"Oh my gosh me too! We are so similar."
"Uhm... Yeah... Sure..."You say with a small unsure smile as you took a bite of the broccoli. You all ate dinner and finished up as you guys cleaned the table. Everyone goes into the living to watch TV.
"(Y/n). Can I talk to you for a moment?"Your mother says with her arms crossed slightly. You rolled your eyes and sighed as you walked over to her.
"Yes, mom?"
"Is something the matter? Ever since we moved here, you seemed out of it."
You sigh deeply,"I'm fine, mom."
"Are you sure? You know I'm always here-"
"I said there's nothing wrong. So just drop it."You say with a bit of an attitude. Your mother crosses her arms.
"Now, (Y/n). There is no reason you should be giving me an attitude. It was just a simple question."
"Yeah. A question that has nothing to do with you."I snap.
"Don't use that tone of voice on me, young lady."She says sternly.
"Well I'm sorry I haven't been at my best tonight, mother."I growl.
"(Y/n), I've had about enough of this nonsense! You're seventeen year old girl and you should be acting like one."Your mother snaps.
"You don't control me."I spat.
"Excuse me?!"Your mother says. By this point everyone was watching us from the living room.
"You heard me. I'm sick and tired of you and dad treating me like a child."
"(Y/n), listen to me-"
"No you listen! Do you know why I've been acting up since we've moved here?! Since you want to know SO badly! It's because we moved here. It's because we moved. You guys made me leave behind all of my close friends and all my happy memories from where I grew up. I left behind everything I worked so fucking hard on to achieve back there by moving here to this... This... Fucking hell hole! I hate here! I hate it!"I snap angrily with your hands clenched into fists. You're mother looks at you shocked and so does your family. Your mother's shocked expression slowly turned to slightly sad and enraged.
"(Y/n), we moved here because we wanted what was best for you and Jane. You don't understand-"
"No! YOU don't understand! YOU don't know what's best for me! YOU don't know what's best for Jane! It's YOU who doesn't understand ME!"You could feel some hot and angry tears roll down your cheeks.
"Well everything doesn't revolve around you does it?"Your mother asks with her hands on her hips.
"No! Because life doesn't give a single fuck about me and neither do any of you!"I yell as I angrily go to the front door, swinging it open then slamming it shut once you were outside. The house was quiet as your mother stood there as some tears went doesn't her cheeks. You father goes over to her and hugs her comfortingly.
"Heh. Teenagers am I right?"Jerry asks.
"Not helping, Jerry."Beth says as she makes her way over to your parents.
"What are we doing wrong...?"Your mother says. As everybody tries to calm your mother, Rick heads outside and sees you sitting on the curb, knees to your chest as tears rolled down. Rick walks over to you and sits next to you.
"Th-That was some show back there."He says. You stayed quiet. He raises a brow,"You kn-know, you're no different fr-OOO-m Summer-"
"What do you want, drunkard?"You snap.
"I don't even fucking know. Check on you I guess."Rick shrugs as he took a drink from his flask.
"Why would you, out of all fucking people, want to check on me?"You ask.
"I don't know! Y-Y-You think I g-IIII-ve two fucks about a teen's rant on how everybody hates her? What d-do you want me to do? Pull 'a life' out of m-my ass and give to you?"
You roll your eyes, "If it were that easy..."You sigh, "Anyway, I apologize for giving a bad first impression towards your family. I just..."
"You just...?"
"Ugh forget it."
"Alright."He says. Then there was silent except for the occasional noises from crickets and a few cars driving by. You break the silence.
"Do you ever feel like you're just hopeless and in everybody's way?"
"All the fu-UUCK-ing time."He replies.
"Sometimes, I feel like I'm the bitch who just makes everybody's life harder. I feel awful when I hurt my mom, or sister when ever we're arguing."You sigh as some more tears rolled down your cheeks,"I hate myself for it. I hate everything about me. Thinking everything's against me. It's painful. Mentally and physically. I hurts me inside and outside when I hurt my..."You trail off. Rick sees the tears and notices how you're wearing long sleeves and it wasn't even cold. He knows where you're getting at. He feels a bit bad as he looked ahead.
"I get what you mean."He says.
"You do?"You ask looking at him. He nods.
"You know what I always say to keep me going?"
"What?"
"Wubba lubba dub dub."
"What?"You ask tilting your head slightly.
"Wubba lubba dub dub. I usually say it "ironically" but it gets the others smiling because it sounds ridiculous."
"What does it mean?"
Rick looks at you before looking away,"Don't worry about it. Anyway, yeah. Wubba lubba dub dub!"He says with a smile as he did a little dance as he was still sitting. You smile slightly and let out a small laugh.
"You know, you're not so bad for an old fart."You say standing up. Rick stands as well.
"Oh so I'm not 'old fuck' anymore?"He asks with a small smirk.
"You're starting to slowly not get on my nerves."
"Riiiight. Whatever you say, kiddo."
"Oh so I'm not 'bitch' or 'princess' anymore?"You ask with a small smirk.
"You're also starting to slowly not get on my nerves either. Unless you want me to call you princess..."He says with a smirk. You blush slightly.
"Okay, now you're starting to slowly get on my nerves."You say with a smile,"Let's just get back inside."
"Right."He says as you two started walking back. Once at the front door you can't help yourself but give him a quick hug. He's surprised at first.
"Thank you, for y'know, for checking up on me."You say.
His heart warms just slightly before he kind of hugged back with one arm,"Yeah yeah. Alright, kiddo."
You pull away with a small blush,"Don't mention that hug to anyone. Now come on."You said heading inside. Rick stood there for a few moments, dazed, before snapping out of it and heading inside. And closing the door behind him.
