You know what is so sad

The way the North American society looks at seniors

I am 67

and thank the fuck, I still live in my own home and have some semblance of control over my life

But

what of the future

What the fuck happens when I am not able to have that control

OR

I no longer have the income to have that control

All that I have worked my entire fucking life to accumulate becomes a source of fucking survival

Basically

society tells me and all other seniors

We thank you for your service. Now sell off everything you own. Sell your house and move into a shitty little one bedroom apartment and enjoy your retirement.

Are you fucking kidding me???????

But that is the reality for so many people my age

Work until you drop

Sell everything you own

You are no longer a substantial part of society

You no longer contribute to society

(Even though we all have for over 50 years)

You are a strain on the medical system

You no longer are needed

You are a burden

GO FUCKING AWAY
