Play Spring by Hisaishi Joe (Butterfly Theme)
(Y/N) doesn't wake up in Recovery Girl's room right away.
In her small coma-like state, her mind is racing. She dreams of seeing her real-life parents again, having them hug her tightly like they used to do when she was young. Except as her mother and father stand in a smoky hallway, and (Y/N) rushes towards them, a dark shadow appears and kills both of her parents. The (E/C)-eyed girl stares at their dead bodies in pure terror.
The dark figure that killed them smiles, "Next, you'll watch your friends die."
An image of class 1-A appears next to the figure, they're all smiling without a care in the world.
"They're only supposed to know me, not you." the figure continues, "You aren't even supposed to exist in this world, I am."
Confused, (Y/N) tries to speak out, but she cuts herself off when the figure steps into the light to reveal themselves.
A twin of (Y/N) stands in front of the real (Y/N), and their smirk is even scarier than seeing her parents get murdered.
"I'll see you soon, me." the imposter grins, and suddenly the real (Y/N) wakes up in the nurse's office.
Bandages and monitors surround her, and she realizes that her breathing is very rapid and her heart is beating extremely quick as well. She takes a few deep breaths, and lays back down on the white bed. She stares up at the ceiling and starts wondering about the dream that she had while asleep.
"Oh goodness, you're awake!" (Y/N) looks over to see Recovery Girl and Aizawa.
"Hey, yeah, how long have I been out?" She asks.
"You've been asleep for a week!" the nurse responds, "We were all worried sick! Do you remember anything that happened before you passed out?"
(Y/N) stares at the floor, and starts thinking, "I remember becoming the number one hero, and then I started getting really bad stomach pains and then..." the image of the kagune flashes in her mind, and she feels sick again, "then there was this..thing on my back. I know what it's called, but..I thought it was just a rumored quirk, not a real one."
"(Y/N), do you remember anything about what the League of Villains might've done to you while you were brainwashed?" Aizawa asks.
"Not really, I remember being given that weapon quirk, but nothing other than that." She responds, "It's entirely possible though."
"I think you do have that rumored quirk, (Y/N)." Recovery Girl says, "Otherwise it wouldn't have appeared out of nowhere, and you were in lots of pain. I attempted to see if there was some type of growth on you from a villain's quirk but, I only found sacs of cells. I discovered they're called RC cells, they can help you create those...kagunes. You have enough RC cells to use each type of kagune, you are very powerful. But, you may want to get to that new quirk before you try to fight with it."
Aizawa nods, "It seems that you're okay now, if you'd like to join class, you're welcome to do so tomorrow. Go on home and talk to your family. Todoroki hasn't been at school or in the dorms since you passed out."
(Y/N) nods, deciding to not mention the strange dream she had.
She walks home alone, wondering about her new quirk. What if there are more? What else did the League of Villains do to me while I was brainwashed? She thinks about this until she approaches the Todoroki household, she opens the door and shuts it behind her. Immediately, she can hear the loud stomping of footsteps.
She turns around at the sound of heavy breathing, and locks eyes with a tired-looking Shoto.
The girl smiles at her brother, and his faces lights up as well. He runs at her and encases her in a hug, which (Y/N) obviously returns. The two siblings stay like that for a moment, before they hear two other people nearby. (Y/N) looks up to notice Natsuo and Fuyumi, also breathing heavily. They grin at the sight of their sister, and join the hug. The group of siblings hug each other for a few tender moments, until the moment is interrupted by a cough. Everyone turns around to see the one and only Enji Todoroki, the former number one hero in a casual outfit.
"Listen (Y/N), I know that-" Enji is cut off as his daughter tightly hugs him around the waist.
"I forgave you when you gave me the title of the number one hero." (Y/N) mutters into his chest, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier."
Enji, although shocked, hugs her back with a smile, "Oh god, you don't know how much this means."
Shoto's eyes were dark and terrifying to look at for a moment, but when (Y/N) said that she forgave her father, his eyes soften and a slight smile appears on his lips. Natsuo is still angry at Enji, but his body language shows that he's not as angry anymore.
When the father and daughter pull away, they smile once more at each other, but then (Y/N)'s face contorts..like she's thinking.
"I know that face, (Y/N)." Fuyumi giggles, "What are you thinking of?"
The (E/C)-eyed girl sighs, "Well uhm, when I was in my short coma, I had a dream. Or at least, I think it was a dream. It felt so real. It showed my parents from the real world getting murdered by a dark shadow, and it turns out that the dark shadow was me. The imposter of me said that I'll watch my friends die next. Then my brain showed an image of everyone in my class and I just..it was heartbreaking. The figure said something like 'they're only supposed to know me, not you.' And, 'you aren't even supposed to exist in this world, I am.' The figure then said 'I'll see you soon, me.' and I woke up back in the nurse's office. I was...confused."
Shoto pats his sisters back, "I think it was just your subconscious fighting back because of that personality split you had, sis. It'll be okay."
(Y/N) nods, but her face still says that she doesn't believe her brother's statement, "Okay."
That night, after an eventful night of family games and dinner, (Y/N) heads to bed. She looks happy, but she isn't. On the inside, truly, she's terrified. She wants to know why she had that dream while in her coma. What if it's the half of her that existed with the League of Villains? Her villainous side? Her entire career as a hero could be flushed down the drain.
She lays down on her old comfy bed in her room after changing into PJs, and sighs. Her thoughts drift to Katsuki and Kirishima, how could she ever choose between those two? (Y/N) yawns, then she turns over and closes her eyes, slowly falling asleep, into another dream world.
Shoto opens his sister's door, he was going to say goodnight, but he smiles at the sight of (Y/N) peacefully sleeping. He sits down on the edge of her bed and moves her hair out of her face, revealing her (E/C) eyes. Even if this isn't the sister he had before UA, it's his sister now. He does miss her outbursts, but he loves this version of (Y/N). Before UA, she was rude to everyone in her family, especially Enji. Shoto pulls his sister's blanket up higher, just so it covers everything but her face. Then, he gets up to leave. He stops though, when (Y/N) lets out a yelp of terror.
He whirls around on his heel to see that his sister's face is pained and she's sweating profusely. Shoto runs to her side, and he wonders what he should do. Should he wake her up? Should he call for help? He wonders what's even going on. Aizawa said that the League of Villains could've given her many quirks while she was brainwashed, or asleep. For all they know, (Y/N) could be the most dangerous and powerful being known to man. Dispite what his heart says to do, Shoto shakes his sister awake. She jumps up, her eyes dull and her lip quivering. She turns to her brother, and the color in her eyes immediately comes back.
"Sho.." (Y/N) mutters, suddenly bursting out into tears.
"(Y/N), are you alright?" Shoto responds, hugging her.
"I-I saw her again."
Shoto's face contorts, "Who?"
"T-The dark version of myself, o-or the villain version..I don't know." She responds, "They told me that I'm going to disappear soon.."
"You're not going to disappear, sis." Her brother responds, "I promise."
(Y/N) nods slowly, and covers her face with her hands as tears rush out of her eyes, "W-What if the public finds out that I-I've been brainwashed before? I-If they find out I have multiple quirks..I-I might lose my hero career forever. I'll never be a hero. I-I don't deserve to be their Symbol of Peace."
Shoto sighs, tightly hugging his sister, "Oh hush. You will always be a hero, sis. No one will find out. And even if they do, it'll make you an even better hero. When someone becomes a hero, that stays with them forever, just like All Might."
(Y/N) nods, and the tears stop flowing.
"Now get to bed, you're going to be tired in the morning."
"Sho?" Her brother stops in his tracks as he's about to leave.
"Yes?"
"C-Can you stay with me tonight?" (Y/N) asks, "I-I don't want to have another nightmare."
"Okay, (Y/N)."
