*1 Week Later*

I fell to the ground once more from above the clouds. It didn’t hurt as much as it used to. My body regenerated faster than what it could and I can control my flames as if it’s an animal and I am its tamer. I don’t how I could’ve gotten so strong in what, a day? Ace started laughing.

“Wow! It looks like you surpassed me in a week!”

“A week? That’s how long have we trained non-stop?” He nodded.

“You didn’t notice?” I shook my head. Wow, I don’t even feel tired, Ace doesn’t look tired either, is he really this strong? And I surpassed him?! Wow… The next moment the entrance was slammed open and a frightened red haired mad scientist jumped out.

“Big problems! Big, big problems!” Ace and I looked to each other than at him.

“What?” We asked simultaneously.

“It’s the C.O.D.S.! They’re coming here!” Ace sighed and I stared at him.

“We both don’t know what they are so how are we supposed to know if they’re a threat or not?!” Ace asked angrily.

“I’ll explain later, but right now help me get a few things out of the lab.”

“And then?”

“We run dammit! Come!” We followed him down the stairs and into the lab. He threw backpacks at us and pointed to a few things. We started throwing those things in the packs and when we were finished we ran to our own rooms. I only needed my celphone, but for in case I packed in the grey hoodie and long jeans. I quickly decided to run into Anemone’s roo mas well and grab anything that looks valuable. I ran in to her room and immediately began searching through her drawers. Nothing. I went to her closet and opened it. I don’t know why but I grabbed one of the long-sleeved plain white dresses with the phoenix on the back. Just when I was about to leave I saw a glittering from under her mattress. I ran to it and flipped over her mattress, which ended up with the mattress falling on a mirror and it breaking and loud sounds and the room a mess, you get the picture. The glittering was a small blue gemstone on a small silver book with the words ‘MY DIARY’ on it. I grabbed it and threw it in the backpack. I zipped it up and ran to the lab where Ace was waiting. Amaimon came next with three backpacks in his arms, probably all the information he had in his office. We followed him outside and through the grass field.

“Where are we going?!” I yelled to the rushing red haired.

“Shinigami realm.” Ace and I looked to each other then back at the red haired.

“Are you mad?!” We asked simultaneously.

“We’ll find out soon enough.” He stopped and held up his hand. His death scythe appeared along with a black robe. I noticed the phoenix was on the scythe and the robe. The red ribbon around the scythe started moving like a snake and tangled Ace and I in it.

“What are you doing?!” I yelled. Amaimon closed his eyes and focused. The phoenix on the scythe started glowing and the next second everything went white, I couldn’t see a thing. I closed my eyes and waited for something to happen. But nothing did…

MY eyes jumped wide open and I sat up immediately. I looked all around. I was in a living room of a very modern home. No one was around. I stood up and started walking around. I don’t sense anything weird coming from here. I entered the dining room and saw Ace sitting with his hands behind his head, obviously worried.

“What’s wrong?” He pointed to a window. I walked over to it and saw a massive castle on the top of like a million steps. It looked evil and dark, just like the sky.

“Shinigami king’s castle.” My eyes widened and I turned back to him.

“Where’s Amaimon? Where are we?”

“Amaimon disappeared a while ago and we are in his old house, but what worries me is that he has two older siblings and they don’t know about us.”

“And if they return-“

“Then we’re dead.” I muttered a curse to myself and looked out the window and saw two people walking next to each other down the stairs. There was a girl with two long light brown pony tails and two coloured eyes, red on the right and green on the left. Then there was a boy with dark brown hair and green eye on the right and red on the left. They were twins. They wore long black cloaks and two death scythes that looked the same. The scythes were plain. A black stick with a blade, so plain. I looked back at Ace who was shaking in fear.

“Why don’t we just hide?”

“In a realm full of shinigamis?! Are you mad?! This is all Amaimon’s fault!” I looked back at the two, they seem to be walking to this house.

“Say Ace, did Amaimon ever tell you a thing about his siblings?” He thought for a moment.

“Uhh…yeah, male and female, twins and both of their eyes are different colours and swapped around.” I looked back at the two and then at Ace.

“We’ve got a problem then!” I said, now fully worrying. Ace jumped up and ran to the window. His eyes widened and he gave out a little scream. He started running around the room, screaming. “If you scream like that then they’ll expect something’s wrong!” He immediately stopped and sat down on the floor, sucking on his thumb. This is so weird. I heard a door creak open and then I noticed that I can’t see the two anymore. EEK!!!! Ace and I immediately shut up and stood still. We heard footsteps and quickly after we saw their two shadows. They stopped.

“Something’s here.” We heard. Ace and I searched all over the room for a place to hide, but it wouldn’t matter anyway since they’ll find us. They entered the room and their eyes widened. The male stepped forward and stood guard in front of his sister with his scythe at hand.

“Who are you two?! Why are you here?!” He demanded. Ace and I to each other then back at him.

“We’re friends of Amaimon.” Ace said. He lowered his scythe a little bit.

“We haven’t seen Amaimon for 430 years. What’s the chance that he’ll be back now and two people come with him?” We looked to each other and sighed.

“I’ll say 70%?” I guessed.

“0.” He said. I started to panic and bit my lower lip.

“He used us at test subjects in his science experiments.” I said quickly, thinking that I’ll work.

“Test subjects? That makes more sense. But the other one said that your friend of his? Test subjects and friends? That’s not like Amaimon, actually friends are nothing like Amaimon.”

“I’m his friend, his assistant in his experiment, so it’s sorta friends? Maybe not, and number 27 here is an experiment.” The two twins looked at each other confused.  

“For now you’ll stay here. If we don’t see Amaimon in one day then it means you two are imposters and we’ll kill you.” The sister said. Ace and I looked to each other, hoping that Amaimon will appear as soon as possible. The male walked to us and pulled us up by the collar. He threw us onto a couch and held out his hand. He flicked his finger and somehow heavy burning chains wrapped themselves around us.

“To make sure you don’t try anything funny.” They placed their scythes down and sat on a couch across us. “So you’re shinigamis?” He got right to the point.

“I am, he’s human.” Ace said.

“A human in the shinigami realm? Never seen that before.” I tried to act a little more to let it sound convincing.

 “What’s a shinigami?” The two twins looked to me and smile.

“I’m Souseiseki.” The male said.

“And I’m Suigintou.”

“Weird names, just like Amaimon. Hey wait! You didn’t answer my question!” They started laughing.

“It’s better if you don’t know, or else the C.O.D.S. will hunt you down, haha!” Souseiseki blabbered. Ace and I looked to each other then back at them.

“What’s the C.O.D.S.?” I asked.

“You don’t know? Well it wouldn’t make any difference if you know so we’ll tell you.” Sougintou said.

“C.O.D.S. stands for Council of Disciplining Supernatural. They formed almost 10 million years ago, right after the legendary Phoenix died almost 10 million years ago when two supernatural took him out. Their intentions are unknown but so far they’ve taken out supernatural that caused great numbers in human deaths. There’s rumours that they somehow found a way to revive the phoenix, but it could just be a rumour. But in the last 1,000 years they’ve become more active and taken out supernatural that haven’t killed anyone but instead broke rules of their own race. What I don’t understand is why they haven’t taken out some of the shinigamis that killed over a 10,000 humans in 1 year. I don’t really understand what their planning or what they are. Some think that they’re humans, some think supernatural because they lived for over 10 million years. Well, now you know what I know.” I sighed. Even more confused. Wait! Anemone said that I should protect Amaimon and Ace from C.O.D.S. and they’ve both broken their race’s rules by forming a bond with their enemies, but then again their only 1 race but…ugg, whatever this C.O.D.S. is they’re after Amaimon and Ace.

“Do you know where their base is?” I asked. They shook their heads.

“That’s all I know about them, nothing more nothing less…but I can tell you that they’re planning something. Scheming something and I have a feeling it has something to do with this war.” C.O.D.S…. an organization where they punish the supernatural if they do bad deeds, correct? Probably not.

Where has that girl disappear to? She’s always getting up and leaving then returning like nothing happened! She’s so troublesome! But this time I have an idea where she’s heading, and I’m right here, waiting for her. This flower field is where the portal to the necromancer realm lies, and this is where C.2. will be coming in order to kill the necromancer king. But I’ll stop her, as her master she must listen to me and only me. She can’t act on her own. I had my scythe in one hand and the three backpacks in the other. I placed them down and stretched my back. My eyes narrowed as I saw a certain disobedient birdy coming my way. She stopped when she saw me. She frowned and took a few steps closer.

“No matter how long your 1,000 inch heels may be, you’ll never be taller than me.” I said smirking. She only stared at me, not making a sound.

“Please get out of the way, prince.”

“No.” I said pointing my scythe at her. She sighed.

“My prince, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you so please move out of the way.” She said demanding. I held my scythe higher to her.

“I won’t let you move past me.” She growled then held up her right hand to me. I tightened my grip on the scythe and prepared for her attack. Before I even realized it, green flames surrounded me entirely. I couldn’t see a thing. I was completely blind. I heard a growl, but more of a best growl then hers. Here it comes. Through the flames flew a green and black phoenix. It was massive, bigger than a normal house’s size. Its flames were big and hot. This is… Owen re Rox Yu. The phoenix flew at full speed toward me and opened its mouth wide. I took the scythe and slice off one of the wings, but I only now realized how strong she’s gotten when the wing grew back. Flames can die, but not the green flames. How could’ve I forgotten? What will I do?! I jumped up high and stopped. The air is my floor; I can stand on it no matter how high or low. I looked down at the once beautiful and colourful flower field, now completely filled with green flames. My eyes focused on the green and black phoenix on the middle of it all. Its green eyes were terrifying. Normal humans could easily fall unconscious by the sight of those…those eyes! It growled loudly and widened its wide wings. It was wide enough to full half of this massive field. I can’t believe she grew so much…in only a month without my supervision. I might actually die here…no Amaimon. You are the prince of the shinigamis! You can’t lose to a half completed phoenix! You’d be a disgrace! I held up my scythe and slowly pulled it down, as if I’m tearing the air, which I was. Cracks formed in the air and a small black portal formed. Owen re Rox Yu stared at it, unsure of what’s happening, that’s because I never showed her this in our training. Eight black tentacles formed from inside the portal and moved out. They were long enough for one tentacle to fill the entire field if the entire tentacle came into this world, meaning if the entire beast came out, it’ll be the size of a country if it stretched out. This is my pet, Emilio, the demon octopus. All though only a small piece of the eight tentacles are in this world, it might just be enough for Owen re Rox Yu. The tentacles were black and instead of suckers, they were spikes. Emilio is an octopus yokai, also the second strongest yokai, right under the phoenix of course. Its only half the power but since Owen re Roz Yu here is only half completed, that being the reason she’s not the official Phoenix, means that they both are at the same level. Now it’s just a matter of who will lose patients first, and who has the best strategy. Owen re Roz Yu flew up to the tentacles and let out a deep growl. She was about to bite one of the tentacles but another came from behind her and went for her weak spot, the tail. She lifted her tail quickly and flew to the side where another tentacle took a hold of her and wrapped itself around her. She squealed in pain and confusion, of how it is that the tentacle is even touching her without setting itself on fire. The spiked grew longer and went through her body. She closed her eyes and focused. The next second she turned into ash and fell down into the green fire. A moment later a small green phoenix, about the size of a beach ball, formed from the ash. That’s one of the ultimate techniques of the Phienix. If it feels as if it’s going to die, then it’ll turn to ash and be reborn in a smaller, weaker state. It saves you from death but it creates you vulnerable for 10 min, until it grows again to its true form, stronger than before. That’s how the two supernatural killed the original, by using these 10 min to finish him off. However over these 10 million years the phoenix which has only now been awakened, figured out a way to protect itself these 10 min. I don’t know how, but I guess I’ll be finding out now. The tentacles went to strike her. She yelped more fire formed around her. If this defence is more fire, it won’t work. Emilio’s tentacles are fire proof, especially against green flames. Just as the tentacles got close, they were shocked by some sort of lightening and forced back. So that’s it… I held up my scythe a slashed down. A force swept from the scythe and to her. The lighting blocked the slash but the tentacles moved their way around it and grabbed a hold of the baby Owen re Rox Yu. It started yelping, it was sort off cute. My cute, cute little C.2. My eyes widened as the tentacles were forced back my more green flames. What’s this? As soon as the flames cleared up I saw the full grown Owen re Rox Yu again. This is impossible! Has it really been 10 minutes? No. It’s only been 2. This was another thing the phoenix has improves, I’m sure. I looked away for a split second, to the portal, but when I looked back, she was right in front of me with a wide mouth. You could clearly see the long and sharp fangs. She’s going to bite me! The tentacles were to slow to reach her before she bit me. I held up my scythe, hoping it will help block me. I quickly reacted and sliced her head, but this time the result was different and I actually left a scar on her. She flew up high into the sky, far from my sight. I sighed and looked to my Emilio. She has suffered great damage to three tentacles. I jumped off the air to one of the really damaged ones and stood firmly on the air at her. I took the tentacle and hugged it. The spikes have no effect on me for some reason I don’t know. I rubbed the burned places.

“I’m so sorry, Emilio. But you’re ganna have to hold on, we need to stop C.2., she’ll be coming down soon. Then we’ll end it, ok?” The tentacles did a wave, it looked weird. I smiled and looked up to the sky. She flew down at full speed. I smiled and ran my hand over the burned area. It healed in a second. The spikes on all the tentacles grew longer. I jumped up higher. She stopped and stood across me, just flapping her wigs staring at me. The spikes turned purple, making her confused. This is what we’ve been waiting for. The tentacles went at full speed to her. She flew higher then lowered, dodging all the tentacles, except one. One sliced through her back and pulled back quickly. All the tentacles retreated back into the portal and disappeared. I already know how this is going to end up as, so I don’t need Emilio to suffer anymore. Owen re Rox Yu fell to the ground. All the fire disappeared. She moaned in pain and struggled to stay up. She fell down and screamed. A purple flame took over the green. Slowly these flames on the phoenix disappeared and left Anemone’s body. She was now unconscious and breathed heavily. Her face was red and her body was pale. I feel so sorry for poisoning her, but it was needed to stop this pointless act of hers. I lifted my scythe and let it disappear, along with my black cloak. I walked to her and picked her up in my arms but I quickly set her down again.

“Yeez C.2., you carry bricks on you or something?! Probably these 1,000 inch heels or something.”  I started laughing but stopped as I noticed she wasn’t listening. I sighed and took off her long black boots and the damaged white cape. It had the phoenix mark on it but it was destroyed. She was now in a plain long-sleeved black dress. So typical. She always wears the same stuff. I stood up with her and surprisingly enough, she was like 10 tons lighter. Her hair was way too long and bundled up on the dirt. I sighed and grabbed the long hair and threw it over her body, so that it’s not sweeping while I walk. I grabbed the three back backs and threw them all over one shoulder then started walking, I don’t know where I’m headed but I guess it must be the shinigami realm, before my two older siblings destroy number 27 and Benjamin. I started jogging at a stage where I felt way to slow.

“Wh-where-?” She managed to mumble when she woke up.

“Finally awake, C.2. By the way you should be expecting punishment.”

“Why?”

“You were going to kill the necromancer king, and I had to stop you.” She touched her forehead.

“I don’t remember-“

“You shouldn’t. Don’t remember anything.” Her eyes quickly widened.

“Where’s my cape?”

“It was burned so I tossed it away, why?” She jumped up and stared at me.

“There’s something really, really important in there! We have to go back!” I placed my hands on her shoulders.

“Calm down. Is it really that important to you?”

“Yes!” I sighed then turned around.

“Then we must hurry.”  I started running and she followed, not far behind. It took about 5 minutes to reach there at full speed. We began searching for the cape. I kept eyeing her to make sure she doesn’t try to pull anything funny. She found the cape and took a small pouch out. She turned for a moment and did something but I couldn’t quite catch that. She stood up

“Let’s go.” And then we headed back in the direction we came and went from. “Where’re we goin’?” She asked.

“Shinigami realm.” Her eyes widened and she stared at me as we ran.

“Wait…what?!”
