5.Meet and Greet

Benjamin has always been there to support me. Always, since the day we met, 400 years ago. I was 1100 years old at that time and I was on the task to retrieve the shinigami elder’s death scythe back. The elder tried keeping the information that his scythe had been stolen for later, otherwise random shinigami would make it their personal mission to retrieve it back just to get seen by the elder as a brave person, or even promoted to a council member. But even to this day, I don’t understand why the elder choose me to help retrieving it back. Like I said before I’m not very fond of killing and I only kill to survive, my physical stamina was low because of that. I started researching science when I was 350 and my I.Q. was pretty high when his scythe was stolen but shinigamis don’t use strategies, even against the necromancers, so why me? It was in the realm of the necromancers, where the elder necromancer had his castle. It was big, larger than a mansion. A few shinigamis were send to infiltrate the castle while others kept them busy and raided the place. The only other shinigamis to infiltrate with me were Souseiseki and Suigintou, my older siblings. They are a twin and my only family. Souseiseki is male and the oldest of them two. He has dark brown hair and two different eye colours. His right is green and his left is red. Suigintou is female; she has long light brown hair tied in two ponytails that hang to the back of her knees. Her eyes are also the same colours but other way around, being red in the right eye and green in the left. Souseiseki is the protective type and always there for Suigintou and I, but where you’ll find one, you’ll always find the other. Suingintou is the shy type that always hides behind her brother, but in battle she’s the most powerful. Even though you might find Souseiseki protecting Suigintou, if Suigintou gets mad then you will regret it, she’s far stronger than me and Souseiseki combined. They are my blood siblings and the only real ones I care for, well before I met Benjamin anyway. For the first 350 years of my life I stayed with them before I found something I’m interested in. We three were hiding in the roof of the throne room. The only people in the room were the king and five body guards. The guards were standing around a large glass case which is bearing the death scythe while the old kind paced the room impatiently. The king looked like a friendly kind old man; I’m already feeling bad about spying on him.

“I will take the two guards standing in front, and you take the three standing behind.” Souseiseki said pointing at our sister. “And you’ll keep the king distracted as we beat up the guards and secure the scythe.” He said pointing at me.

“Can I kill him?” I asked. He shook his head and held up his index finger.

“Our elder said no matter what we should keep the necromancer king alive.”

“I’m very confused, if we are at eternal war with them and we came all this trouble just to retrieve the ultimate weapon, why don’t we just end it and kill him?” They raised their shoulders at me and sighed quietly.

“Ok, let’s start.” They jumped down from the roof and headed for the glass case. All the guards gasped and held up the spears in their hands. The king was about to run but I jumped right in front of him, making him jump back and call upon his bony staff. It was taller than his own body and the bones had cracks in so just from looking at the bones you can tell he’s a lot older than any normal old man. The staff’s gemstone on top was a red ruby in the shape of a heart. It is said that the shape represents their soul, a heart, don’t make me laugh! This is the man who brought many back from the dead as his servants and tortured them in the most painful way as possible, he’s also the man who discovered that zombie making is possible, and not just riving the dead. Although I can’t see the difference, this man is still truly evil. And this is why I don’t understand a damn thing that’s going on in that king of ours. We’ve been in an eternal war against the necromancers for over 100,000 years and after we go through all the trouble to get a weapon of his back and in a perfect position to end the war by killing the leader of the enemy, but you order us to protect him? And second you send me right into the castle where the most powerful necromancers are and I have no experience with necromancers, I don’t have experience with weapons, the only thing I’m good at is figuring out how to defy logic through science conducted by a reaper. So what am I supposed to do against the necromancer king?! Through a chemical bomb at him?! It’ll kill an entire city but against him it’ll do absolutely nothing! The king held up his staff and the ruby shone. That’s it, I’m a dead man.

“Amy!” Suigintou yelled at me and threw me one of the guards’ spears at me. I quickly grabbed it and held it up. It clashed with the staff. My eyes started shaking as a great impact travelled from the clashing to my feet, making the tile floor crack beneath me. Yup, still a dead man. Two red lights shot from the ruby and flew across the room. I lost sight at them but then I felt great impact on my back. Two stings in my back, pressing through the flesh and blood gushed out. Next thing I saw were the two light pressed out of my chest. Like two sharp swords dipped in poison then pressed through my back. I coughed up blood onto the king’s face. He showed me nothing but disgust in my face.

“My oh my, why would such a weak and young shinigami be sent here to kill me?” He said in his disgusting voice. It’s like asking a rotten apple to talk and it actually replies, forget what I said about him being kind, he’s the evilest person I know. I could hear the battle behind me continue; it seems Suigintou has poor out all her rage on the guards while Souseiseki laughed through his battle. While I’m stuck here on the brink of death! The king smirked and lifted his staff which he then hit the ground with. The ruby started to glow and 4 butterflies made out of the red ruby flew out of it. They were about the size of a full grown man’s hand. They all flew up above my head to the rood. They all began shining and lights connect them together. They shone even brightrer, making me blind. When I opened my eyes I was in a tight space and all the walls around me were made out of rubies. A million different versions of myself shone in the ruby. Like a million small mirrors, reflecting me. No. These versions of me aren’t me. The smiles on them were evil, like their planning something devastating. Is this…really me? I took a deep breath to get away all these thoughts. My eyes shot wide as I began hearing my own voice talk back to me through these ‘mirrors’.

You are a murdered!”

“You kill people.”

“You take innocent lives for your own.”

“Why don’t you just stop killing?”  That’s when they stopped talking, waiting for my answer. They all smirked knowing what my answer will be.

“I can’t. I need to kill to survive…” I muttered rather shamefully. The mirrors started laughing evilly.

But why do you need to survive!”

“What is your purpose?!”

“You have no purpose!”

“The only thing your good at is science.”

“Can science really be that interesting?”

“Will it be worth your immortal life?”

“You are a worthless shinigami!”

“You are the only one doing your job normally.”

“While all the rest go out of their way to make their name big.”

“Maybe that’s the reason your name’s so big…”

“Big that you’re so weak.”

“That’s why the king send you here, isn’t it?”

“You siblings have such big names.”

“Everyone knows about them.”

“So the king send you here…”

“To be killed by the necromancer…”

“That our king doesn’t have to carry the guilt of killing you…”

“Because of he does kill you straight off…”

“Then he’ll lose two great pawns of him and their trust.”

“You shouldn’t have been born!”

“No! Everyone has a reason to be born…” I looked down.

“Then enlighten us.”

“What’s your reason?” I looked up, about to answer but the words didn’t come out of my mouth. There were no words, there is no reason. They all chuckled, looking at me like a helpless fool. I probably am one.

Thought so.”

“So now comes the question.”

“Why don’t you just die?”

“Don’t fight back.”

“The shame of shinigamis will be released if you die.”

“And what better way to die then in battle?”

“Pretty noble of you.”

“Everyone will see you as a hero, a hero who protected his siblings while they were following orders.”

“So don’t fight back.”

“Don’t resist.”

“Let your eternal rest start today.” I’m not sure what to do. But they are right…I’m useless. I’m a disgrace. Suigintou and Souseiseki are probably ashamed to be relatives to me, even more siblings. No one will miss me. Not even the science department. What is science to me? I thought it was my entire world. My only reason for living, but…the humans are getting so evolved these days that my jobs are narrowing. I guess, there is really no one that cares for me. No one will miss me, everyone will rather have me dead than alive. I’m nothing, absolutely nothing. I should rot away.

“Amy! Don’t let this bastard get in your head!” I heard the screaming of my elder sister from a faraway distance. It was more of a whisper, a faint voice, calling out to me but I could hear her perfectly. I opened my eyes, expecting to see the king readying his weapon. But rather I saw my sister sitting with my head on her lap. I looked up at her two coloured eyes. They didn’t look sad, but neither happy.

“What happened?” I asked serious.

“Look around.” I pushed myself up and saw the king standing with his staff in worry. His knees are shaking and his eyes travelled between me, Suigintou and to back up over my head where I expect Souseiseki to stand. I looked back and saw him smirking as he held the death scythe in his hands.

“H-how did y-you break through my ruby c-cage?” The king said stumbling on each of his words. Suigintou grinned her teeth and slapped me through the face. My cheek was red now and a little blood escaped from it. I looked at the two holes in my chest which is now is gone.

“W-what was that for Sui?!”

“You idiot!” She yelled at me. “Idiot! Idiot! Idiot! Idiot! Amy you idiot! Why did you believe what he said?! Those rubies reflect what you fear most and use it against the person by confusing them! You idiot! How can you ever think that no one cares for you? How can you think people will be happy if you die! Idiot!” Tears rolled down her cheeks. “You really think leaving Souseiseki and I will make us happy? Idiot!” I don’t know what to say. I’ve never heard so sad and serious words leave my sister’s mouth.

“What is this? Some family bonding moment in the middle of battle? Don’t make me laugh!” The king implied, making me laugh instead.

“Well then…” My angry brother began. “We got what we came here for and the longer we wait the more shinigamis are lost our there. So we should be going.” The king looked rather confusedly at us. My sister began laughing.

“You think we came here to kill you? No, our king will be the one to finish you of. We simply came here to retrieve our king’s weapon.”

“If your king is going to kill me then why didn’t he come himself?” The old man asked. He seemed rather confused, even more then we are.

“We don’t question his orders his orders, the king always has a plan at mind so you better be war.” My sister said with a bright smile. The disgusting of a king smirked and walked to his throne. He sat then stared at us.

“Well then, get out!” He yelled making us run out of the room.

“I expected him to kill us for entering his realm and killing his subordinates, but he’s just letting us go? I don’t understand.”  I said as we ran down the hall, avoiding the dead bodies.

“This is making me suspicious. First a necromancer steals one of the ten death scythes in the shinigami realm, second it’s Lord Death’s scythe, third a scythe can only be used by the ten chosen ones so I thought they stole it to make Lord Death weaker but…fourth the necromancer king didn’t fight us seriously and he could easily kill us for the scythe but he didn’t so that takes the option of making Lord Death weaker, sixth he didn’t care if his subordinates died, seventh he just let us leave after what was called merely a fight, eighth Lord Death told us not to kill him, ninth he said he’ll care of the necromancer himself so why didn’t he come along and simply take hid scythe back and killed him and tenth after I broke the ruby cage I could read his face clearly and it showed off the emotion of satisfied and relieve before acting as if he can’t believe it. By this I can determine that Lord Death as well as the necromancer king are scheming something…diabolical.” Suigintou said as we jumped onto the roof upside down to avoid the necromancers that are still alive. We jumped off and entered the library that was abandoned.

“Why are we here?” Souseiseki asked.

“Amy, I need you to do something that only you can do. I need you to stay here a bit longer and find any information this place has to offer about shinigamis and necromancers. Understood, Amy?” I nodded but opened to yell at her but I remembered that wouldn’t be the smartest decision and said it normally.

“Sui, I told you to stop calling me Amy…” I said obviously angry. “That’s a girl name and I don’t like nicknames.” She only nodded.

“So you understand? We’ll give you a week and if you aren’t back by then, even if you haven’t gotten all the info you come back, k? And if you aren’t back in a week we’ll come and infiltrate ourselves and if we can’t find you within a week, we can only assume you’re dead, understood?” I nodded. This is rather scary, I’ve never done a thing like this. For an entire week I’ll be here in enemy headquarters, is my sister stupid.

“If the king sees me he’ll surely recognize my red hair.” She fought for a moment and took out normal looking ring and placed it on my finger. My hair turned brown and grew rapidly until it stopped at my shoulder blades. I could feel my face change shape, a very weird feeling. My legs and body grew thinner and taller. My clothes changed to what a librarian’s will look like and glasses formed over my eyes. I look completely different!

“Don’t take it off.” I nodded. She kissed me on my forehead and rubbed my cheek. “Take care, little brother. Be safe, Amy.” She pulled back and stood tall. She smirked. “You look good.” I rolled my eyes and nodded. Souseiseki walked to me and messed up my long hair then gave me the thumps up while the other hand held the scythe with the large blade.

“You’re like our ace in this.” I rolled my eyes and nodded. They ran out the door and closed it. I took a deep breath and ran to the back of the room, far away from the entrance and at the very back of all the tall bookcases. I slid down the wall and just sat there. Wouldn’t be much use starting now, if I was to pose as a necromancer then the first thing I should is not look suspicious by reading while a battle is carrying on. I’ll just say I’m new and scared. Ugg, this is such a drag, I should’ve really thought of what I was getting myself into before agreeing. I laid my head back and closed my eyes. I was thinking of everything I might find out but I thought a little too much and fell asleep.

My eyes shot open as I felt my face slapped side to side. I grabbed the culprit’s arms and flipped them over, natural reflexes ok? The man moaned and slowly pushed himself up.

“What was that for?!” He yelled at me.

“You stole the words right out of my mouth!” He blinked and moved forward and examined my face. I’m feeling really uncomfortable here. His eyes widened and his mouth hung open.

“W-what?” I asked. He shook his head and stood up.

“Nothing.” He continued to stare at me. I shook my head and stood up. This man looked more like a boy, he looked young. He has short black hair and light brown eyes.

“So…” He began then held his hand out. “Benjamin.” I hesitated but took his hand as I remembered what Souseiseki told me.

“Ace.” He smiled and nodded.

“You’re looking for information about shinigamis and necromancers, right?” My eyes widened.

“H-how’d you know that?”  I asked. Is this it? Have I been found out already? Is he going to kill me? Is he going to tell his king? I’m really scared here. Benjamin started laughing hard and rolled on the floor laughing. “W-what you laughing at?!”

“No it’s just-“ He said rubbing his tears. “You look really stupid with that face!” I’m not sure what now. “Anyway…” He said then stood up and walked to me. He moved closer to me to whisper something.

“I’ll keep your secret, shinigami. But only if we both do this research together because I also came here for the same reason.” My eyes widened.

“Are you a-“

“Necromancer, so no.”

“But if you’re a necromancer, then why-?”

“Because I don’t like the war and can feel that I can do something to prevent it, so that’s why I never plan on attacking a shinigami. I’d even go against our king’s orders for a shinigami. I’ll rather show them our hospitality, but that’s if they accept it…” I couldn’t help but smile.

“Amaimon.” I said making him look at me curious.

“My name.” He smiled and nodded. A strange one this is…

“Now come, there’s much work to do. It’ll be rare for you to find someone here after all that just went on and so our excuse will be that we felt useless and started researching the enemy right away, and if they ask us to help with cleaning then we’ll say that…we were badly injured and still healing, k?” I nodded. He pulled me up and shoved me forward. “How long?” He asked me.

“A week.”

“Not much time, let’s begin.” You can’t trust someone fully after you’ve just met, its common sense, but…this is weird. I’ve never felt like this. It feels as if Benjamin’s the only one I can trust. He pushed me into one of the chairs and disappeared for a moment. He returned by throwing books on me.

“All the books about shinigamis and necromancers. We can’t take the books out of here so we’ll stay here for the week then. At the back there’s a room that only I have access to so we can sleep there. Like I said there’s about a 1% chance someone else will come in here, necromancers these days are all about brute strength, I doubt it. Hmmm shinigamis don’t eat, right?” I shook my head. “Alrighty then. Let’s start.” I nodded, still unsure about everything. Maybe Benjamin’s tricking me? But what would that accomplish? No idea…

“You’re ganna research shinigamis, your own race, why?” Because we want to know what our enemies know about us, but I can’t say that. I only lifted my shoudlers.

“Orders.” He nodded and handed me a book.

“Well its nice meeting you Ace.” I chuckled.

“You to, Benjamin.”

Early the morning of a week later, Benjamin shook me awake. No. It’s more of slapped me awake. I once again grabbed his arms and flipped him over.

“Oww…after a week I still can’t used to it. Anyway, you’re leaving today, right?” I nodded and stood up. This week I feel like I made an honest friend that I can trust entirely. Wait…a…friend? He pushed me out the room into the library which was now full of paper and un-organized. He searched through the paper until he found a large file and handed me it.

“What’s this?”

“I quickly mad this last night. It’s all the information we’ve gathered and if I remember correctly you told me that you didn’t really pay attention while we researched so you can’t remember anything and if I were to let you alone and gather the research, you will surly take false facts.” I looked down, it’s true, I really haven’t paid attention. He started laughing then patted me on the back.

“I’ll take you to Earth, I’m sure you can find your way from there, correct?”  I nodded then followed him out the library and castle. He led me through the garden and the streets full of houses that look old and made of stone. I don’t know how long we walked but before I knew it we were at a large gate that said the one and simple word “EARTH.” We entered and before I knew it I stood in a flower field with Benjamin next to me.

“So now that we’re here, care showing me your true face?” I hesitated but nodded. I took off the ring and the light brown turned dark red, my eyes turned pitch black, my clothes transformed into my science coat I had on but now it’s full of blood, my blood. I took the glasses off and tossed them to the side. He shook his head then took a pair of glasses from his pocket and placed them on my face.

“You look better with glasses, Amaimon…” He examined me even further. “And a coat, you researching?”  I nodded.

“For the last 700 years, science.” He nodded.

“Well then, I’ll be going now. In about 70 years I’m returning to Earth, I hope I’ll see you.” And then he vanished. Looks like I’m coming back to Earth later on. I took out a metal bracelet Lord Death gave me it to return to the realm. I placed it on my arm then vanished. I opened my eyes to find me standing in the dark place. All buildings were in ruins, but still usable even in that state. Most shinigamis only move underground while others go and live in Lord Death’s castle. It is large and stretches far above and far underground. The castle doesn’t look normal and darker. It’s the highest point in the entire realm. There isn’t a speck of colour anywhere to be found. I turned around and saw the gigantic front doors of the castle. I smiled then walked closer. There were to large guards in front. They both are a part of the council because they have death scythes, and like my sister said before, there are only 10 in the realm. But these two were massive! They wore black coats and had their massive scythes in their hands. They both looked exactly the same with the dark hair and dark eyes, these two must be twin council members that recently got appointed. They examined me carefully then opened the door. I held the file tightly and entered. This place is so big it’s a maze! I received looks from everyone around me, all the citizens living here and the council members. I entered the throne room, where Lord Death sat on his throne. It was only us in the room. He lifted his head to me and smiled. Yeah, something’s up. Lord Death wears a black coat, covering his body and face. I’ve heard rumours that he has no body and that’s its only bones. I walked to him and knelt. I’m really loyal to him. I stood up and handed him the file. He simply nodded and stood up. He’s really tall when he stands up tall. He entered a room behind his throne. I couldn’t see what he was doing but I assume he’s going to confirm the data. I’m really pathetic, or really awesome. Lord Death and I can communicate without saying a word but I can’t understand what to do now, should I leave, or stay?  I sighed then looked at Lord Death who returned. He had a death scythe in his hands. It was smaller than his so it can’t be his but it was still big. The blade was in a weird shape, like it has mini sharp blades sticking out. On the staff it had a skull which was bind to a large red ribbon hanging down. On the blade there was a mark, a bird, which held its wings out and fire spread from them. Lord Death walked to me and smiled Wait! No way…could this possible be!?

“From today on out you will be known as Lord Amaimon, one of my council members.” He began saying in his deep voice. Impossible! This is all impossible! Nothing is making sense here! IS he really making me a member just because I infiltrated enemy base? Impossible! Anyone could’ve pulled it off! So why me? I don’t understand anything anymore! “Hold out your hands, Lord Amaimon.” I couldn’t protest and held out my hands. He took the scythe and sliced both my hands. He moved his arms forward. I could see a hand sticking out, and like the rumours said it was bones. The hands moved over my blood then spread the blood over the mark. The mark started too lit up and fire spread all around it. He handed me the flaming death scythe and I took it immediately. The fire spread all around me and shut my eyes tight. I opened them and widened my eyes. My clothes have changed. I’m now wearing a black coat like all the council members wear except on the end was the same mark as on the scythe. Somehow my red hair grew longer and stopped under my shoulder blades. There is a weird feeling in my mouth, fangs grew sharp. The fire stopped and I realized that this scythe…is mine. But this feeling is so…extraordinary. It’s impossible.

“Lord Amaimon.” Lord Death interrupted my thoughts.

“W-why me?” He lifted up his bony hands and removed his hood, revealing his skull. There was a crack from the forehead down to mouth in it.

“Lord Death! What happened?” He traced down the crack.

“This was made by this very same scythe; it’s the only weapon that can harm me.”

“Then why did you give it to me?! And who was it that harmed you?”

“I gave it to you because of your hidden potential, and I know I can trust that. You may not have any fighting ability but your mind is your strong point. When you release your full power, then you’ll be invincible. I can feel it. Because of that I gave you this death scythe, it’s yours now. Now and forever, only yours. Don’t let anyone touch it, not even me, understood?” I nodded.

“But then, who was it that harmed you?”  He turned and looked to his throne.

“Necromancer.”

“But a necromancer can’t use a death scythe!” He turned to me and even though he doesn’t have eyes, I could tell he was staring at me.

“Lord Amaimon, I’m going to share with you the truth of the necromancers and shinigamis.”

“T-the truth?”

“Yes. After I tell you then you’ll be the third to know this secret. The other two are myself, and the necromancer king.”

“King?”

“Yes. I can tell by now that you feel uneasy about everything and can’t understand a single thing, but after I tell you then you mustn’t tell a single soul, or even a person without a sol, a dead body, a best, you never repeat my words, understood?” I’m feeling very worried now, what could it be?

“Lord Death…”

“You will understand everything after I tell you.” He lowered his head then started telling me of the horrid secret between the shinigamis and necromancer. This is totally impossible! I can’t believe a single thing his telling me, but I still believe everything he told me. He lowered his head after telling me everything. “You understand, Lord Amaimon? You understand why you can’t tell a soul?” I shook my head.

“No Lord Death, I don’t.”

“Have you considered what their actions will be if they discover this? Earth might be destroyed in the process. This is something I and the necromancer king are slowly getting rid of. One day, which might be in a million years, there will be peace. But if we do something now then who will be really in danger?” I looked down.

“Humans…” I muttered.

“Not only humans, the entire Earth, animals, humans, and the rest of the supernatural world! We might be cause the universe to collapse if we don’t think over our actions carefully. So we need someone to help us, someone smart, someone powerful, someone like you.”

“Like me?”

“Yes. You are the only one Lord Amaimon, I myself can’t do anything because of my age. I’m weak, so that’s why in these million years that we strive towards peace, you will be the shinigami prince.”

“P-prince? Does that mean that you-?”

“Yes. I’m going to be your farther, is that ok? I already see all shinigamis as my children and I know you all look up to me as a father, so this shouldn’t be a problem, right?” I shook my head. “And then after I retire, you will be the Lord Death.” My eyes widened. This is just too much! I can’t handle it all! Me being Lord Death? No way! I felt Lord Death’s bony hands on my shoulders.

It’ll be ok, and don’t worry. I don’t plan on retiring for a long time. Also, there’s something I need to tell you.”

“Lord Death…

“No, I wish for you to call me father.” I nodded, still confused about everything.

“Father…”

“My real name is Mephi.” M-mephi? That’s such a ridicules name! I wouldn’t have expected such a name for Lord Death! “I know, I know, pathetic. You can return to your siblings now, they’re very worried about you and remember…”

“I won’t say a word.” He nodded.

“Good, now be off.” I held my scythe tight and walked out. I was greeted by suspicious and curious stares. I stepped through the large doors and received stares from the two giants. This is ganna be a long millennium. I walked down the large steps leading to the castle. We made sure to live close to the castle so it’s like just right from down the stairs. I walked to our house; it wasn’t as bad as other houses. Suigintou didn’t want to live normal so she made it so like a human house. It’s very modern. I walked onto the porch and slowly exhaled. I opened the door and closed it behind me as I entered. Wait for it…wait for it….

“Amy you’re back!” I heard from the kitchen, which is absolutely useless because we don’t eat. Suigintou ran from the kitchen to the hall but stopped as she saw me. Her eyes widened and her jaw hung open. Her eyes examined me further, but her eyes stopped at my death scythe.

“Im-impossibe…Amaimon…what?”

“Hey! What’s wrong?” I heard Souseiseki then he also entered the hall and stood speechless. I lowered my head and walked passed them, entering the kitchen and dining room. I grabbed one of the chairs and pulled them out. I sat on it and placed my scythe against the table. I examined it and ran my thump over the phoenix mark while my other hand held up the phoenix on my cloak. What does this mean? My speechless siblings entered the room and slowly made their way to the chairs across me.

“Explain.” My sister said, demanding a real and detailed explanation, that’s how she’s always been.

“I’m a council member, Lord Death adopted me, and I’m the prince of shinigamis. Father asked of me not to explain any further, and if you knew all details, you wouldn’t want someone to know either.” They lowered their heads, thinking it over.

“Prince of shinigamis?” My brother finally spoke up after a long and tense silence.

“That’s what father called me.”

“Do you know why we were ordered to protect the necromancer and why it is that he didn’t fight at his fullest?” My sister asked.

“Yes.” She jumped up and slammed her hands against the table.

“Tell me!” Her rage is pouring out, she doesn’t like being in the dark.

“I can’t…”

“What is Lord Death thinking?! He’s leaving everyone in the dark! He’ll lose everyone’s trust! What will become of our race if we can’t even fully trust our own king!?” She yelled, clearly frustrates. I let go of the scythe and it disappeared, as well as my cloak. I was now in my bloody lab coat and my previous clothing, that includes the glasses Benjamin gave me. The only thing that changed was my hair that grew. I stood up and walked back to the hall. I was heading towards my room upstairs but I was stopped by my angry older brother.

“You’re going to explain everything.”

“I already told you that I can’t, but all I ask of you is that you trust father’s decisions. Please.” After what felt like an hour of staring at each other, he let me go and I walked up stairs. This is bad, this is really really bad.
