chapter 3
There was too much information in the guide for Yueting to read all at once, so she decided to stop for now. They were almost at the place where they were going to rest for the night anyway. Putting away the book in the inventory the system provided, Yueting sat back down normally on the horseback. "Hm? Are you already done, missy?" Haruto asked. "You could say that," Yueting replied.
After arriving at the place they were going to stay for the night, Haruto's men began unpacking the tents. After they had finished, some went out to gather firewood while Yueting and Haruto sat down. "Since you're an adventurer, which guild do you belong to?" came Haruto's question. "None," Yueting replied. This shook him. "How can you be an adventurer without being part of a guild? Isn't that dangerous?" he asked. "Ah, I'm not really that much of an adventurer," she said. "But you knew how to heal, a quadruple spell at that. You're not one of the Xing mages nor an adventurer, you're not a saint, are you?" he asked. "Nope, just a normal person," she answered. "You must be really lucky to be this strong as someone with no experience," he remarked. "I guess you could say that," she replied.
"What even are the Xing mages?" Yueting asks. Haruto looks at her, completely shocked. "How don't you know about the Xing mages? They're the ten most powerful mages, and they only gather in one place when something very important occurs. Their gathering could even be considered dangerous," he explains. "Ah, that makes sense," Yueting acknowledges. "That's all you have to say?" Haruto questions. "I guess so," she replies. Haruto chuckles. "You really have no care in the world," he remarks.
Yueting had a lot to think about, but she wasn't where she used to be, so what was the point of dwelling on it? For now, her plan was to learn hunting first because it's something helpful wherever you go. Based on the guide, elves were very good hunters because in most worlds, they live secluded.

Now, the only important questions were: What kind of elves existed in this world, and where could Yueting find them if they were usually secluded? "Say, Haruto, are there elves here?" Yueting asked. "That's quite a random question," Haruto remarked. "As far as I know, it's rare for humans to actually come into contact with elves, as they're regarded on the same level as royalty," he explained.
"You mentioned humans. Does that mean it doesn't apply to you?" Yueting inquired. Haruto chuckled, "It depends on the location. In some places, demi-humans are even considered monsters."
"I see. So, in the place you come from, it must be different, since you're a guild owner, right?" Yueting pressed further. "In smaller areas, demi-humans are viewed that way. However, cities are more advanced, you could say," Haruto clarified.
For now, Yueting had to find an elf. Since they're viewed like royalty here, it might be harder than she thought. But if she's right and she's the "hero" Haruto was talking about, then it might be easier than she thought.
The next morning, Yueting fell out of her bed once again, startled by a loud alarm clock-like sound ringing.
⌞Alarm: It's your daily training time.⌝
"Ugh, there's no way Kyo always woke up this early to train," Yueting thought while struggling to stand up. She was still half-asleep and doubted whether she could train this early in the morning. Yueting sighed as she put on her clothes. Training directly outside would probably wake the others up, so Yueting walked a little further out into the forest, where she found a small pond to train at.
Yueting had never really held a sword before. She used to watch her older brother train with a sword; he used to do kendo. She often watched him swing the sword up and down, and when she asked, he used to say, "The longer and more often you swing the sword, the more familiar it will feel." The guide said something similar:
𝒷𝓎 𝓈𝓌𝒾𝓃𝑔𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓋𝓎 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝒶 𝓈𝓌𝑜𝓇𝒹, 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝒾𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝓌𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈 𝒶𝓇𝑒𝓃'𝓉 𝓉𝒶𝒸𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓁, 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝑔𝒶𝒾𝓃 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓂𝒾𝓃𝒶, 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌𝓁𝑒𝒹𝑔𝑒, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓈𝓅𝑒𝑒𝒹.
taking out the sword the system provided her before throwing her down the sky she began swinging it up and down, swords are heavy but yueting had no problem swinging the sword.
⌞System message: master would you like me to activate trainings mode?⌝
hm?? trainings mode? "sure."
⌞Activating trainings mode.⌝
With this, Yueting felt a surge of energy rush through her body. It was as if her body began moving on its own, taking swing after swing, turn after turn, and step after step, slashing through the air as if she had been training for months. There wasn't much improvement. She wasn't the one controlling her body, but because it was her own body, she could remember each step and impress it into her mind.
Just after taking another swing, Yueting heard a noise. "It's not very common for women to be so good at swordfighting, ma'am." someone remarked as he walked out of the bushes. "Ma'am is quite a formal way to address someone of no status, isn't it?" she retorted, turning to look at the man. It was no ordinary man, no demi-human, not even a noble human, but an elf, a very nobly dressed one at that.
"You don't look like a commoner, so I assumed you were of noble background," the stranger stated." Then you were mistaken," she replied firmly.
"I see. Well, my apologies. I'm Daiki Nakamura, and you are?" he inquired. "Yueting," she replied.
"I see you're not very fond of talking much," he observed. "You could say I'm not a morning person," she quipped back.
He chuckled while sitting down on a nearby rock. "Are you here on foot?" he asked. "By horse," she answered.
"I see. Are you headed to the capital?" he inquired further. "Aren't you asking too many questions?" she countered. "Just curious how such a well-dressed woman couldn't be from nobility," he responded.
"It seems I just got lucky," she remarked. You could say she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth because she was from a well-respected family back on Earth, but it still wasn't anywhere near nobility. Not only that, but you couldn't ignore her deadbeat times.
"Though I could say the same for you, you were truly born with a silver spoon in your mouth, weren't you?" she continued.
"I guess you could say that, but a silver spoon might be too much," he replied.
"I see. Well, what's someone who's probably from nobility doing alone in the woods?" she inquired.
"Just taking a walk," he answered. She raised her eyebrow, "Did you get lost?" she prodded. His eyes widened. "A commoner dressed as nobility with extraordinary skills for a commoner," he commented.
"So I was right?" she pressed. He stayed quiet. "If I have such extraordinary skills, then other humans must be quite weak," she mused. Just then, she remembered something:
𝐸𝓁𝓋𝑒𝓈 𝒹𝑜𝓃'𝓉 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒶 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝒾𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝒾𝓃 𝑒𝒾𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝒸𝒶𝓈𝑒, 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓃𝑜𝒷𝒾𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎 𝑜𝓇 𝓁𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓃 𝒶 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓂𝑜𝓃𝑒𝓇. 𝐼𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝒸𝒶𝓈𝑒, 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓎 𝑔𝑒𝓉 𝓉𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓈𝓁𝒶𝓋𝑒𝓈, 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓁𝑒 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓃𝒹, 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓎 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝓉𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝒶𝓈 𝓊𝓃𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒸𝒽𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒, 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝒸𝒽 𝑜𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓃 𝓂𝒶𝓀𝑒𝓈 𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝓈 𝓉𝓇𝓎 𝓉𝑜 𝒽𝒶𝓇𝓂 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓃𝑜 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝒶𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝑜𝓇 𝓀𝒾𝒹𝓃𝒶𝓅 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂 𝑒𝓍𝓅𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓂𝑜𝓃𝑒𝓎.
"Aren't you in danger walking around like this?" Yueting asked. "I guess you could say that," Daiki replied, his gaze softening. "Open inventory," Yueting commanded. Whenever she spoke to the system, no one else noticed. In other words, others didn't know about the system.
⌞Opening inventory; what item would you like to use?⌝
"Coat," Yueting said.
⌞Understood.⌝
With that, Yueting took a coat out of her bag. The bag was actually empty; it was an illusion the system made. Though even if she just pulled a coat out of nowhere, the system could still alter reality.
"Wear this to cover your ears. You can follow me," Yueting said, handing Daiki the coat. "Thank you—" Daiki began, getting interrupted.
"No need to thank me," Yueting interjected. Following Yueting, Daiki arrived at a camp.
"Missy, you're back! We were wondering where you went!" Haruto exclaimed.
"I was just training at a nearby lake," Yueting answered. "Who's this?" Haruto asked.
"He's an old friend I encountered by chance. I hope it's fine if he travels to the capital with us," Yueting explained. Before Haruto could say anything more, Yueting spoke again, "If there's a problem with that, we can part our ways here."
Haruto's eyes widened. "No, no, of course, he can come with us. But we don't have any extra horses," Haruto said.
"That's fine; he can sit on mine," Yueting replied."I see. Well then, I have nothing to say against it. After all, you did save my life."
