Chapter One- Off They Go
Aspen was on her stomach reading a book when a knock came from her bedroom door. She looked up curiously and instantly froze.
"C-cam, what are you doing here?!" She asked, bolting up to a sitting position.
"Sorry, your mom let me in." He winced, staying in the doorway. "I was wondering... Zach invited me, Macy and you to go to the beach. Would you want to?"
Zach was Macy's boyfriend.
Aspen bit her lip. "I don't know..."
"C'mon it'll be fun." He coaxed, smiling. She rolled her eyes with a teasing glint in her eyes.
"Fine, I'm in. Only if Macy is going though."
"Awesome. The trip is going to be this weekend."
Her eyes went wide. "That's tomorrow!"
"Yeah." He chuckled. Aspen shot up and rushed over to him, pushing lightly.
"I need to pack- bye now." She chuckled, moving him into the hallway.
"Don't you need to ask first?" He chuckled.
Aspen stopped trying to move his body. "Right." She chirped, jogging down the staircase. She found her mom cooking dinner.
"Hey Aspen." Her mom greeted with a smile.
"Would it be okay for me to go to the beach with Cameron, Zach and Macy?"
Her mom hesitated. "I don't think I would be comfortable with-"
"Please?" She asked sweetly.
Aspen's mom let out a sigh. "Alright, if Macy is going- you can too."
Aspen let out an excited shriek. "Thanks mom! Love you!" She called over her shoulder, rushing back upstairs. Cam had amusingly followed behind her.
Cameron placed himself on the foot of aspens bed and watched her open and close different drawers.
"How long are we gonna be there?" She asked over her shoulder.
"I think just the day. We'll leave around six so we'll be able to be there by eight a.m."
She nodded and ruffled through her closet. Cameron watched her pull out a black bikini along with a sweatshirt, t-shirt, two pairs of shorts, sandals, flip flops and a tank top.
"I said only the day Aspen." He chuckled, looking at all of what she was going to pack. Aspen placed a hand on her hip.
"I have to pack extras if anything were to happen to my other clothes." She confided, moving down onto her hands and knees to look for a bag.
Cam rolled his eyes playfully at her and knelt beside her, reaching under and grabbing a black duffle bag. She smiled and grabbed it, folding her clothes neatly and packing them in.
"You better head home, you're family is probably wondering where you are." Aspen suggested, busying herself with pulling her hair loose from the hair tie that held it up. Her blonde hair tumbled to her shoulders.
"True. Alright, I'll see you tomorrow." He winked. "Be ready at six."
Aspen nodded. "Bye." She chuckled, closing her door. She leaned against the wood and pulled out her phone- instantly texting Macy.

Aspen: why didn't you tell me about this trip?! Last minute packing isn't fun
Macy: I didn't know until three hours ago! 😂 Zach came over and asked me if I wanted to go, did he tell you?
Aspen: no, Cameron came over and asked me😐
Macy: awwww!!!! He really came to your house?!?! OML ASPEN THIS IS A SIGN. A SIGN. 😱😱😱
Aspen: calm your butt, I didn't want him here😂
Macy: still Adorable af! 😍
Aspen: no, it's not.
Macy: yes it is, don't fight me here- I know a future couple when I see one😏
Aspen: hate u😑
Macy: you love me😂❤️
Aspen shut off her phone and laid down in her bed.
'What have I gotten myself into...' She thought, resting her head onto her pillow. Dreams took away all of tomorrow's excitement and she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Aspen woke up around five to get her shower. She slipped on her bikini and threw on a thin, white, loose t-shirt over it along with shorts. Aspen put her hair into a messy bun and put on minimal makeup- the amount that did go onto her skin was waterproof.
"They're here!" Aspen's mom yelled from downstairs. Aspen slipped her phone into her pocket, put shades over her eyes and grabbed her duffle bag.
"Coming!" Aspen called back, jogging down the stairs. She found Cameron standing in the foyer with a white t-shirt and black swim-bottoms.
"Matching." Cam chuckled, pointing to aspens shirt and then to his. She rolled her eyes.
"Bye sweetie, be safe. Have fun." Her mom smiled, giving her a hug. Aspen gave her mom a quick hug and headed out.
"I thought we were riding with Zach and Macy..." Aspen asked, allowing Cam to take her bag and place it in the bag seat of his Honda.
"Zach wanted some 'couple-alone-time'." Cam shrugged, hopping in the drivers side.
'Great... Two hours with him...' Aspen thought, sliding into the passenger seat.
He started off the road. "So Pennie, what kind of music do you want?"
Aspen cocked an eyebrow. "Pennie?" She questioned.
"Yeah." He chuckled. "The last part of your name is 'pen' so it suits you well."
Aspen shook her head. "Don't call me that." She chuckled.
He smiled. "Fair enough."
Aspen reached out to flick the radio on. She turned it to a pop station and relaxed back into her chair. "Did you bring sunscreen?" She asked, creasing her eyebrows.
Cameron nodded. "Yeah, why?"
"I think I Forgot mine." She chirped.
"You can use mine...Pennie." He smirked, knowing it annoyed her.
"Cam..." She groaned, smiling teasingly.
"Long day ahead of us." He chuckled. "Get some sleep while you can."
Aspen nodded and laid her head back. Her eyes drifted shut and the music sent her to sleep easily.
Not proofread. Hope you enjoyed! More to come- stay tuned for how their beach day goes.
