[ 07 ] Losing Passion
Today's topic is a little heavy, but very fitting to how I'm feeling at the moment with my fanfictions.
So here's the thing,
Nearly all of my fanfictions revolve around Paige.
Paige x Dean
Paige x Seth
Paige x Roman
Paige x everyone and their mother because I love the girl and feel like I connect with her, therefore can easily write for her.
However, as of lately, I've been feeling a bit burned out.
There's only so many fanfics you can write about your favorite character.
What I'm trying to say is, here's a few tips on how TO NOT burn out + find inspiration.
1) Don't write a million books on the same person. Trust me, there's only so many things you can do with one character.
2) Try writing about different characters (something I'm finally venturing out into doing).
3) BE FEARLESS!
This is a big one for me, because I can't tell you how many books I've scraped, but I'm sure it's a couple hundred (jk), more like ten.
But still, the biggest reason I scrap them (unpublish) is because I'm scared.
Well, I used to be.
For example, I had a Kevin Owens x Nikki Bella book that I unpublished because it wasn't a common ship + people would dissuade me from it ( I shouldn't have let them) + no one that I knew wrote of Kevin at the time, nonetheless Kevin + Nikki.
I felt like everyone would hate it + reject it, so I unpublished it before I could even really fail.
Don't do that.
Don't be afraid to step outside of the box.
I cringe when I see Brock Lesnar fanfics, but then again, I applaud you for taking on the challenge and being creative.
4) Don't let other's put you down.
I've been remotely guilty of this one. A few months ago there was a small incident where I said something along the lines of "Adele and Roman Reigns = JUST NO."
Someone took offense to it,
but I was just talking about a friend who had written a RR fanfic with Adele as the lead ... in which Adele got repeatedly speared.
To me, that was just a big no because Adele's a national treasure man xD
Anyways, some one thought I was being rude, and truthfully I do "diss" massive celebrities, well, singers used in wwe fanfics, but don't let my opinion influence you for the worse.
If you like using Adele, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, whoever the fuck you wanna use,
FUCK MY OPINION and do what's going to make you happy!
5) Diverge in Tumblr.
If you don't have a tumblr account,
stop right now and go join tumblr.com
That place is a mecca for inspiration.
People always post creative images + videos that inspire me to write about a wrestler/ and or the wrestling fandom blogs are very opinionated down there + reading about someone's love for (say Zayn) puts me in a good mood and makes me want to write about said person.
//
With all of that said, just do what makes you happy.
If you've never written a fanfic before, but would like to do it on say Paige, AJ, Seth, Dean, etc.
Don't let me "be creative and choose someone else" get to you.
You are more than capable of doing what you so please.
You're not a basic bitch.
Just keep in mind that there is about a million and one fanfics on the Shield boys and or Paige + AJ,
so if you're going that route,
be creative!!
It's obvious that if you do one on say Paige + Dean, they're gonna be in love and yadda yadda, but have fun with it!
Don't just make them kiss and then the shield get back together and paige joins and lalala. I mean, you can have all of that, but find a way to make your story unique.
It's the little things that count guys.
On a final note, losing passion for a story will happen. Losing passion for writing will eventually occur. Up until a few days ago, I was in rut with my other stories, debating if I should even continue them.
If you are feeling this way/ have ever felt this way:
IT'S OKAY.
OKAY?
Take a walk, breathe in and out and remind yourself of why you started in the first place.
What was it that you used to like about that story?
Re-read your favorite chapter.
It's okay to put the rest on your stories on a pause and work on something else that truly makes you feel good about writing again.
Don't let something weigh you down.
Cut ties with it and move on until you're ready to pick up on a story.

I hope this has remotely helped.
The next chapter will be on how to write endings (something I should take my own advice on)
+
also, shameless self promotion,
I wrote a fanfic on Enzo Amore (titled Exposed) and it's out right now + I think it'll be a good read,
so check it out maybe?
