[ 04 ] Proofreading

Proofreading is KEY to achieving a flawless, smooth chapter with little to no errors. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to write a chapter.

Once I'm finished with it, I've re-read it so many times while typing it that I grow sick of it and just want to publish it.

DON'T DO THAT!

I mean, you totally can, but in the long run, you'll thank yourself for going through it once it's fully written.

Proofreading can really help you get rid of pesky little grammatical issues like confusing words for other words even though you know the differences between them > if not, take a look:

...

1 ) your / you're / yours

Is that your pen?

You're my bitch.

Is this yours or theirs?

2 ) there/ their / they're

It's over there.

That is their house.

They're really bitchy.

3) too / to / two

I hate the WWE Network too.
Choosing between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose is too hard.

This goes out to all my haters.
My heart belongs to Shane McMahon.

Two heads are going to roll tonight.
Number two.

Those are just some of the common mistakes I see other's doing, myself included. Sometimes we'll make little typos, and that's okay.

I normally tend to type "of" instead of "or"

but when I go back to proofread, I usually catch it.

Asides from getting rid of silly grammatical errors that we all make, proofreading is also what can shorten your story for the better/ eliminate parts that might seem unnecessary once you read out loud.

Another tip-

Read your story out loud! This is the easiest way to get rid of all the mistakes. If you can't read it smoothly, chances are that your wording is a little off and could be rewritten in a way to make more sense.

If you suck at proofreading and it's important for you to produce stories with little mistakes, having a friends read your work / edit it for you can really help too.

Every now and then I have my best friends here on Watty go over my chapter when I'm too tired to do it myself.

If you don't have someone who can do this, I'll gladly do it if you need the help.

I've provided some visuals to help.
