Take A Break

Iskall fell over onto the stone floor of their starter base. Nonono- they shot their head up quickly, rubbing their eye, knowing a dark circle surrounded it.

Iskall had been up for days working for their friends. Against Beef's claims, Alan didn't help. He just creeped the hell out of Iskall. What is this, Western entertainment?

"IskallMAN never takes breaks." They muttered. "IskallMAN doesn't need sleep or food. IskallMAN doesn't need that human crap, because they're IskallMAN." They got up, lugging a shulker box to the nearest water elevator. As the purple box flew up, Iskall followed. When they reached the top of the elevator, they simply pushed the shulker out of their way.

Iskall quickly dried off their hoodie, shaking their head quickly to rid their hair of water. They wiped off some stray water droplets from the box and went to the main room of the vertical hobbit hole.

"Iskall?" They glanced up tiredly, raising their eyebrows at their neighbor. "Iskall, you okay? I haven't seen you around in quite a bit."

Mumbo walked over to his friend, his arm around them. "Hey, you wanna hang out in my hobbit hole? You seem really tired."

"I'm not tired. I'm working with my good deeds," Iskall glared at Mumbo. "I'm doing my Hermit Challenge."  They tried to shake Mumbo off, but he kept his grip.

"Iskall, c'mon. You haven't slept in days, clearly. Just come over to hang out, that'll be your deed for me." Mumbo put on a small smile.

Iskall looked unimpressed. "This is my deed," they cocked their head to the box in their arms. "This is my deed for you. If I come over, you'll have two deeds, unlike everyone else. To even all that out, I'll have to do extra deeds for everyone else."

Mumbo frowned. "Dude, just come over. My treat." Iskall looked even more unimpressed. "For a second! Just to check in. You could hand in my deed," he pointed at the box.

Iskall nodded dully, following Mumbo into the desert, then jungle.

Mumbo pulled out some blankets and pillows, shoving his enchanting table to the side. He threw the blankets and pillows to the ground, flopping down on some.

Iskall watched, placing the lavender shulker box in a corner on the lower landing of the hobbit hole. They sat down in the blanket-pillow pile, throwing a light blanket over themself.

They slid closer to Mumbo, who put his arm around them. "Isn't a break nice?" Mumbo muttered, then noticed that Iskall was already fast asleep. He smiled, pulling a small, red book from a shelf nearby. He flipped to the first page, starting to read. Book in one hand, other around Iskall.

"Mumbo? I set up a burn stick this morning, I don't know if you saw it, or..." Stress stopped. She stood on one of the top racks on the short ladder, stepping up to the cobblestone floor. She smiled.

Iskall's head was on Mumbo's chest, both asleep. Mumbo had a book in his hand, the Swede laying the the other. Both seemed to have kicked their blankets away in their sleep, for a short hill of them lay at the pair's feet.

Stress grinned, pulling the largest blanket she could find around them. She grabbed a pale blue blanket for herself, laying next to the Swede. She placed her flower crown on Mumbo's head, arms around Iskall as she fell asleep.

What a nice day for the three, unknowing of the problems outside as they slept.

Little Sneak Peak:

Cleo sprinted through the jungle, hair flaying behind her as he ran. Her spider mask was falling off, but that didn't matter. Her undead life did.

Keralis ran shortly after her, his construction vest around his waist. He gripped his enchanted sword, desperate for another head.

"Keralis! Can't we just settle this?" Cleo yelled, jumping over a fallen log.

"NO! If I don't win the Headgames, then I'll steal the heads that I would need to win off you! I'll sneak, murder, and do anything else necessary  to win!" Keralis sprinted harder, pulling on vines and grabbing leaves to pull himself forward.

The two ran just outside the jungle, splashing across the banks of a long river. They found themselves laughing as they ran and splashed, running to a familiar wooden circle in the hill.

"Hey! You can't use portals!" Keralis laughed, jumping onto the river bank to catch up with Cleo.

"Oy!" She yelled, "Social distancing, Keralis!"
