Unsure what you want to write about? Here are are five prompts to help get you started on your story for NaNoWriMo:

Prompt 1: Long lost love was all you needed for everything to be okay again. If only things had ended differently. Is this you punishment? You didn't really expect things to end well, but it was worth a shot because, honestly, regretting it happened was easier than regretting not taking the chance. Before falling into despair, light begins to come from an unexpected place.

Prompt 2: Arsons are keeping the run down buildings in check - or so you thought. Suddenly, buildings all over town are going up in smoke. It seemed harmless until remains were found inside one of them. Were they all to cover up something more sinister? Or was this something that happened by chance?

Prompt 3: Your life has always revolved around horses and your relative's ranch. Due to their untimely death, you now find yourself battling family for the land. All you've ever known is farm life, but now you've been thrust deep into a city. Your days have gone from calm and peaceful to anxious and hectic. How do you cope? Can you even win the treasured ranch full of precious memories? Or will you lose it all?

Prompt 4: You knew something was wrong the moment you saw their face. You only wish you go go back and stop them from making that decision, but that's impossible. The only thing you can control is The present. Is there anything you can do? Help is being offered from an unexpected source. Will you accept? Can you accept? Or will their face that day haunt you forever?

Prompt 5: Times change, feelings change, people change. What doesn't change is that someone is dead. You know it was murder - even though the police won't believe you. There's nothing much to go on, but you still have a feeling you know who did it. You just can't prove it; after all, they have an alibi. Can you prove it was murder and find the killer before time runs out?
