Starstruck

This was the girl who had wished to see a star in person her whole life, she gazed out her windows at them from her early age of four. She was often told to go to bed, but words won't stop a four year-old like her. She always kept a flashlight with stickers of cats and stars plastered all over it.

When she was told to sleep, the faint rustling of her looking under her bed for her flashlight  was heard.    As she turned it on and found her way to the window, she would shut it off and lean against the sill, with her head rested on her elbows, and her desk chair pulled up.

To see a shooting star was a dream come true, but her wishes never came. The little girl had wanted the star to fall into her window, so she could gently care for it, bring it to school, and take it for walks, just as if it were a living animal.

But then, on a day close to the girl's 8th birthday, a bizarre happening came about. A  thump was heard around the house. Being as curious as the girl was, she inspected the house, every wall hanging, closet, and rug, to find that mysterious noise. Having an unsuccessful hunt, she returned back to her room, where she was found coloring her coloring book on the floor with her feet in the air.

A few hours later, another noise was heard, but this noise was a very soft noise, as if it had just been whispered in each room of her house.  A whoosh, and then a tinkling of bells was heard for a short 3 seconds, and then subsided.

(A/N I just wanted to add my own ending, but still feel free to finish the story in a way that you imagined!)

She looked up from her book, and her eyes were astounded. The scenario seemed too fake and unrealistic! After four years of wishing, it's finally happened!

Sitting in her room on the rug she laid on, her bed, wedged between her stuffed animals, were the stars she had wished for since she was four, it was like her requests had finally met the edge of the universe, where wishes were granted. There had to be at least twenty stars, if not more.  The girl gathered the stars together, double-checking to make sure she hadn't missed one, and sat them all on her bed, where she also had placed her stuffed animals. Her coloring book was long out of her mind, and she curled up with the stars, feeling their warmth. She gently closed her eyes, and a smile formed at the edge of her lips, and sleep overtook her. The stars slowly brightened and lit up her room as she slept, exuding the love they had stored when she had given them all of her love.
