. . .

"Hey, can you take a photo of me and my friends for me?"

Bella looked up from her phone to see a tall, lean brunette in front of her, his phone held in his outstretched hand. It caught the blonde off guard since she had not anticipated being approached at their high school's annual field day event.

She agreed tentatively as to not seem rude or impolite and having seen him around before with the more sociable and admired group of students. Personally, Bella never hung out with them as it felt out of place to do so. It simply was not her type of people.

"Thanks dude, and by the way, what's your name? I've never seen you around before." He asked, his charming looks with his slightly disheveled appearance and soft dark brown eyes.

It seemed odd to her that they hadn't interacted before, but then again, their high school was quite large and crowded with different groups of students.

"It's Bella." She replied.

"Noah." He shook her hand, leaving a slight sweat residue on hers. A small part of her couldn't help but sense the compulsion to wipe her hand on her shirt or her pant leg to get rid of the minuscule layer that was on it. However, it would seem rude to do so right in front of him.

"Well, it was nice to meet you. See ya around!" Noah waved and jogged back over to catch up with the group of jocks that were across the field.

She did wave to him, but of course, he didn't see her do so.

But he was not wrong about them seeing each other more after their first interaction.

In fact, the platonic feelings that they shared soon manifested into something more and teens fell for one another. And after a month or two of dating, Bella thought it would be the right time to introduce him to her parents, something that she dreaded to do for a while.

When stepping up the front steps of her house, she was giving Noah notes on what to expect from her parents.

"Okay, so, my mom is crazy over anything related to musicals. She literally wears merch she gets casually and even hung up some of the tickets up in a frame in our hallway." The teen rambled.

Noah laughed aloud at this since it was just as abnormal as it sounds. She elbowed his side before continuing. "Anyways, my dad is a laid-back guy, but sometimes it's hard to tell when he's joking around with you."

He nodded and walked inside with her, only to be immediately pulled into a bear hug by her mother.

"Aww! Welcome to our home! You must be Noah, I'm Mrs. Anderson." The woman stepped aside to gesture him to her husband, Mr. Anderson.

"Nice to meet you." He shook his hand firmly. "Just so you know, we're secretly planning to embarrass out daughter in every way possible in the time that you're here."

"Dad!" She yelped, the embarrassment already getting to her as the others chuckled at the comment.

"Oh, but I should be heading back to finish up supper! Toodles!" Mrs. Anderson headed off into the kitchen, humming a musical number on her way there with her husband following after her.

Bella could already tell it was going to be a long night.
