In the dead of night, the near-full moon shines on the dull sidewalks of the neighborhood. The sidewalk lightly glistened from the small puddles that formed the day prior. The rain was light, but had enough to make decent puddles.

The dog wandering the sidewalk- Mars, was on her way to the park a few neighborhoods over. She was coming up to the Fire House (as the dogs call it). Mars knew that she was nearly there.

Although, a school that she knew as Sali-something, was across from the park. It was separated by a decently main road and a small bit of a different neighborhood.

She never minded it, never taking notice of the middle school. But it was only the third year it was open anyways. Still, Mars didn't mind.

But this night, she got a bit curious. There was a forest near the front of the school, a bit closer to the field and track though.

She decided to explore that. Mars knew her four other friends would wonder where she was, but she didn't care. They would survive, Barneby would take care of Ryo. While he does that Walker and Jupiter would be running around in the small open space surrounded by trees. None of them getting in trouble.

Mars went off to the forest after finishing up her thoughts, looking around to see if any metal-machines were coming. To her surprise -but not really- no machines came by. So in spite of lights that could possibly be heading her way, she crossed the two-laned road.

Once on the other side, she walked over towards the main road that led to the schools entrance. Over at that entrance, metal-machines came and dropped of their skinned-youth.

Now that the forest was a bit closer, her nose picked up the fresh -and sometimes disgusting- scents of the plants.

Mars had a pretty good scent, she was a service dog in-training. Her specialty will be cheering up others who have a mental illness, such as depression or anxiety. She was pretty happy about that.

The forest was a few rabbit leaps away. There were yellow boards on pegs blocking it for metal-machines, but skinned-youth and skinned-adults with their companions could fit in.

She did just that, entering through the gaps. There were alot of logs and sticks, but it's an easy jump.

The path (within a few paces) broke into two small paths, still meeting up into one regular path.

Not much to the path until you walk a little farther. Once that happens you come out into a little clearing, a few logs are around along with lots of plants. The path still continues farther along.

The log on one side had a path running under it, later on more logs had these. The main path though, connected to where these logs went on a path.

Mars decided to walk the regular path. The logs were too much. But the first path was blocked off with a recent tree that fell down, not that big of a deal though.

Mars quickly made the jump over the log, almost tripping over it due to her being a huge clutz. She managed to make it without falling though.

On the other side, the path spit into two. One half leading left, the other leading right.

Now generally two paths means 'one is dangerous and the other is godly'. That's not the case though, one side leads deeper into the small forest, the other to a larger path.

Now if Mars went the was deeper into the forest, she would soon meet a small clearing -smaller than the first- with some logs in it. These logs had no value, but were decent to sit on.

Now if she went the other way, she would find a path about one metal-machine length wide in a Scotch broom field. Not much else. Bland ain't it?

If she stayed on that path though, she would find the forest again. This time the forest had different scenery, along with a mass amount of trash. So much that it would make any person say 'would it kill somebody to clean this up?'.

Along the trash you would be able to find two mattresses (one close to the start of the field), a few broken tires, lots of food garbage, a baby thing, and lots more.

If she still continued going down that path and into a random part of the forest, she would find a tent. Yes, a tent. Not a propped up one, but a flat one.

Farther along the trail in another direction, she would meet up with the fence that surrounded the school. Exciting? Right?

Now, if she were to turn back, she wouldn't have to feel creeped out from all that weird trash that's lying around.

If she turned back, she would meet up with her friends and have a great time with them exploring the woods and trails by the park.

If she turned back, she could come to the forest again later in the daytime with her friends.

If she turned back, her friends wouldn't wonder where she is at the moment.

So many possibilities, not enough thought process for Mars's brain.

Without a second thought -or any for that matter- she turned around and walked away.

As she was walking away, she couldn't see where she was going in the dark. With that, she tripped over and fell down from the log. 'Great,' Mars thought. 'Now my legs hurt, it's gonna be much harder to get to the park!' She mentally yelled.

Mars slowly got up, taking note of the small scrapes and scratches she had dappled all over her paws and a few on her legs.

She started walking towards the exit not too far from where she stands. Of course though, more logs lay ahead.

She quickly limped over to the black-and-yellow boards on posts. Not having ever scratched herself, this was new to her -and stung like a bee-.

Soon enough, she got to the path that split into two. She didn't mind the split, she just wanted to get out of there.

She took the elevated path, with that slight elevation her senses sharpened for a moment as over-cast rolled overhead.

The scent of rain made Mars's ears perk, "Just the perfect weather and scents, isn't it?" She thought aloud to herself, passing the black-and-yellow signs.

Meh, terrible ending. I like this one though. It's not edited so beware of misspellings and sentences that make so sense.
Bye guys.
