Smol heads up, this is just for practice. So I don't mind if you hate, I'm just doing this for fun when I have ideas or when I'm board and don't feel like doing other things.
Onto the practice!
~Third person~
It was a chilly Autumn morning. The air was crisp and musky. The leaves cracked under the paws of the beasts that roamed this land.
Many of these creatures liked this season, the water was plenty, prey was easy to find in burrows and caves. But one creature in particular loved this time of the year.
This creature was in fact, a dragon. A chicken sized dragon, or, a Light Tail to be exact. This dragon enjoyed the chilly wind that blew the leaves off of trees that clung on for dear life. The feel of leaves breaking under every paw when they took a step. The thicker air, occasionally misty with a haze of fog.
This dragon was rather, peculiar to others outside their own kind. This dragon had an Autumny colorization, with a brownish-orange eye color. Along with a brown maple Leaf design on their tail. Unnatural for a regular Light Tail.
This dragon belonged too a tribe of "outsiders". When in reality, they just look different and only truly explore in their favorite season.
No one really knows about this small group of... Unique Light Tails. Only other Light Tails truly know them, well, those that live close. But they still shun them for how they are.
This small group of Light Tails can't help the fact that they were born this way. The only creatures that truly accept them are their own tribe, their close Light Tail friends who come and socialize sometimes, and those Light Tails big dragon friends. Everyone else is either scared they will get a terrible disease or something from them. They are not rats!
But on this cool, crispy morning, the small maple leaf-like Light Tail was nervous as it could ever be. This dragon was in fact male, quite small though. He hated it, but his closest friend -a female Light Tail- says that it makes his even more special than he already is.
Those words stick with him this particular morning. On this morning he is going too ask his longest -and best- friend too be his mate. He is super nervous, afraid that she will say no. 'Come on Maple! You have known her for almost your whole life. Of course she'll say yes!' He tells himself, in spite that she might reject him.
He nervously walks over to her den, the crunch of the leaves making his nerves go crazy. Today the leaves are annoying, when they usually calm him. But his angsiety is so high, it's breaking the sound barrier. Damn he wishes this wasn't so hard.
Once at the entrance of her den, his angsiety rose. He doesn't know how, but it did.
He stepped closer to her den, pausing every few seconds remind himself to calm down. 'She'll say yes, right?' Maple thinks hesantly. 'Maybe this was a bad idea. But you won't do anything unless you try.' He concluded his thoughts, finally gaining a little bit of courage.
He shined his scales and picked a rare blue rose for this occasion. 'I really hope she says yes, it took forever to find this rose.' He thought for the last time before he was at her den entrance.
Her den was beautifully decorated, made out of fresh green grass, with a small moss bed, along with year-round flowers on the walls. Damn, he'd want to ask her all over again if he wasn't so scared.
The slightly younger Light Tail noticed him, "Hey Maple!" She squeaked cheerfully.
"Hey Holly." Maple responded, his pretty high pitched voice muffled by the de-thorned rose he had clamped in his tiny jaws.
He nervously brought the rose to Holly, dropping it at her feet and licking the cheek of the other Light Tail. It is custom in their tribe that you greet the other by licking their cheek.
Holly licked back, not wanting too be rude. Maple picked up the flower again, handing it to Holly. "Here, I got this for you." He mumbled handing her the beautiful pastel and deep blue rose.
"It's beautiful! How did you get it?" She asked, quite curious on his whereabouts of getting the rare flower.
"I found it in a white rose bush not too far from here. That was the only one though." He nervously ran his paw back and fourth in the soft dirt underneath his small body, creating a shallow dent.
"None the less, it beautiful." She smiled warmly at the other dragon.
"I, um, also h-have somethin-ng I want to tell y-yo-you." He heavily stammered. Maple rarely stammers, so Holly can tell he is nervous.
"What is it Maple? I won't judge." She calmly said too the now shaking male in attempt to calm him.
Once Maple was finally calmed, he started to state everything he loves about Holly to himself. 'She has the most gorgeous lime green eyes, the deeper green color of her scales, her holly leaf design on her tail, the small amounts of red scattered on her natural green color.'
Once he finished and gained the confidence he needed, he swallowed and spoke.
"Holly, you have been my friend for as long as I can remember. I want to keep it that way, but me more than friends," He paused, "much, much more than friends. So Holly, will you be my mate?" He finally concluded, nervous as ever awaiting her reaction.
Holly did not respond for awhile, so Maple got nervous again. He messed with his paws, thinking. 'Oh no! What if she reject me? What if she doesn't feel the same way? What if, she doesn't want to be friends anymore?' By now he though he was sweating.
One he saw Holly open her jaws to say something, Maple perked up still nervous.
Holly finally spoke, "Maple, I have been your longest friend. And I know you have liked me for awhile now, I have thought it over for long enough. Yes, Maple, I will be your mate.
With that, Maples eyes lit up. He then rushed over to his now mate, Holly, and showered her in licks all over the other Light Tails face.
