Disconnected
The wind was blowing with a fierce rage, snow began to pile against the doors. The lights flickered for the last time before everything was gone. Breathing heavily I take a deep breath and clear my mind, I find a candle and work on my way to the kitchen to find a water bottle, and something to eat before heading to my room. I wrapped myself in a blanket. I was cold, the heat was gone, my lips were becoming blue. I held the candle close to myself, the soft glow illuminating my book and face.
Humming to myself I read my novel as I continued to deal with winter storm. The cold blasting outside made me wrap myself tighter into the blanket and bed.
Reading is my light from the dark storm on the outside.
