Every idea has to start from somewhere. Once it happens, you can't kill it. It nags, and nags, and nags until you write it down. I know for a fact I'm not the only one who suffers from this.

With any story, fanfic or not, there's a lot that goes into this hefty process. As our prophet Chuck says

Nobody ever said it was going to be easy.

So, when planning out a Supernatural fanfic, there are a few things to consider:

*Original story line or does it take place within a season?

*Who is the character (or characters) that will be your creation? (Because let's face it, almost 99.9% of Supernatural fanfic involves an OC.)

*How does this character fit into this plot?

*Where will this plot take them?

*Will they have a love interest?

All stories start from somewhere. This isn't a simple process. Stories take time to develop, so don't rush yourself. Pace yourself. Good stories have a lot of time and effort put into them. Get a support system if you're ever struggling. Even ask people for help. You'd be surprised at what others have to offer.

So, please, plan your story accordingly and responsibly.
