Chapter Ten

After Simon told us to gather our things, I gathered everything I had with me; the clothing I was wearing, the letter Stelliana wrote, and my orb. I gave Leo his orb and told him that I was going to explain everything later.

Alberta was cooking dinner for us all and I was starving. At around six o'clock or so, dinner was done and ready to be served. After looking at what looked to be the meal, I held back a little but knew I was starving.

I drank what looked to be a vegetable soup while Leo ate a sandwich. After I finished drinking it, my appetite was gone so I left the table.

I decided to sleep in early so I asked Alberta if she had a blanket or something. She gave me a woven blanket and I slept on the cold floor.

I was thinking what tomorrow would be like. Would we even get to N? What if the compass doesn't come to us? I had a lot of questions in mind but decided not to think about it.

A while later, I felt sleepy and closed my eyes.

I was awaken by the sound of one of Alberta's instruments.

" What time is is? " I asked sleepily.

" It's six o'clock sharp," Alberta replied." It's about time we all eat breakfast and start our journey."

I ate a toast, some bacon, and drank a glass of milk.

" When are you going to tell me what this orb does?" Leo asked.

" When we begin our journey," I answered.

After everyone was done, a columan asked when we are going to begin our journey.

" Has everyone gathered their things?" Alberta asked.

" Yes," we answered.

" Than let's begin our journey," she said.

We began to walk the direction Alberta told us to. I was assuming this was the way to the winds.

" Now, what do these orbs do and why do we have them?" Leo asked me.

" Okay, these orbs are from our 'mother' and yours could make you invisible while mine could tell the future. They will help us along the way," I told him.

" How do we use them?" Leo asked.

" On our way to the winds, we will come across a place called Betasy's where he will teach us how to use our powers correctly," I told him.

" I think I get it now," he said.

" I found this envelope in the tree addressed to you and Leo," a columan told me.

" It must a letter from Stelliana," Leo said curiously.

I opened the envelope and took out the letter. It read:

Dear Stella and Leo,

I'm here to tell you that you are almost to Betasy's. Betasy will teach you everything you need to know about your powers and how to use them. I know that your orbs are in your pocket and they will definitely help you during your journey. There may be great dangers ahead of you so this is a warning.This letter is also to inform you that you are heading the right way. There will be another letter from me that Betasy will give to you when you arrive.

After about thirty more minutes of walking, we were in front of what looked to be a shop.

On top of the entrance was a sign that wrote:

BETASY'S

To me, the shop looked like a haunted house or something. All the columans expressions were full of fright and curiousity.

Leo just stood there staring at it. I hit his arm and said " Snap out of it."

" This has to be Betasy's. I'm sure there is nothing to be afraid of. I say we go in. We are wasting precious time here and I'm pretty sure everything will be fine," I stated.

They all agreed to enter and so we did.

" Leo and I will take the lead and you guys follow behind," I suggested.

" What !?!?!?!" Leo said.

" Be a man," I mind-said.

We tiptoed to the door and opened it. We walked in silently to see a flight of stairs in front of us.

" I say we walk up the stairs," I mind-suggested.

Leo and I took the first step up and heard a creak. We quickly ran up and saw a skeleton and a ton of bones on the ground.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" we all shouted and ran to the exit.
