Chapter 14

Stella's POV

As I gratefully accept my mug of steaming tea, I look at Leo. He is staring at Lorena, and I elbow him in the ribs. He winces, and screams "OW!" in my head, but he seems to get the point and looks down to his mug. Lorena doesn't notice.

I turn to Lorena herself then, and see she is settling herself into a bright purple loveseat across from us, which clashes with the yellow wallpaper. It's eccentric, and I thought it would hurt my eyes, but weirdly there was harmony between the two opposite colors. Lorena smiles, and says "Well, what can I do for you two?"

Actually, I've completely forgotten, I was so wrapped up in my own thoughts. "Err..." I say, and look to Leo for help. He laughs, and turns to Lorena. "Well, we actually came for supplies for the cold. We are on a, a journey, I suppose you could say, and we need gear for the cold temperatures around here."

"If it wouldn't be too rude, may I ask what 'journey' this is?" Lorena asks. I turn to Betasy, asking permission with my eyes. He nods, and I look back to Lorena. "We are trying to find our siblings," I begin, but I don't get a chance to get any further. She gasps, and says "What did you say your names were again?" "Um, I'm Stella..." "...And I'm Leo." She gasps again. It sounds like a startled squirrel noise.

That's a weird comparison, Leo thinks to me. Shut up, I retort.

"I have a paper for you," she tells us. I raise my eyebrows at Betasy and Leo, and they both raise their eyebrows back at me in perfect synchronization. It's hysterical, but I force myself to not laugh as Leo waggles his, and turn back to Lorena. She hands me a yellowing envelope, and I carefully tear it open. I feel Leo's breath on my shoulder, and nearly sigh in exasperation. That guy needs to learn what toothpaste is. I unfold the envelope, and read aloud.

Dear Stella and Leo,

You are close to finding Glacia and Aquilo. Go to the Rock, and you will find a hidden door which you can open with your orbs. I trust you still have them? Enter there, and you will find your siblings. You will have to be wary and explain all this to them, as they will have no idea who you are.

Good luck, my dears. Be safe, and stay away from the Aurogan!
