Prompt #2

Prompt hosted by ContestsbyMaya

Prompt: You woke up the next day, everyone was gone. Your friends, family, neighbors...everyone.

They were gone.

Nothing left in its traces, she was left. Alone.

Searching blindly for any thing, any proof or evidence that might have suggested that they were still alive, but nothing.

She stumbled around in panic, spotting the few photo frames that her family have. The photos was gone, the frames smashed to pieces scattered around the floor. The whole place was a mess, no signs of anything living other than her. The once lively aura had completely disappeared.

Tears blurring her sight, she screamed for her family's name, even when her heart told her the bitter truth, even when her voice was hoarse. Yet the only reply she got was a silence, echoes magnified by her every footsteps.

She could still remember the happy day they had yesterday, when everyone had laughed happily as if nothing had happen to them at all.

Clutching her chest, she crumpled onto the floor. Why? What did she do to deserve this? Why was she the only one alive? The pain was real, as if thousands of poisonous barbs were stabbing her. She couldn't stop the tears from coming down.

She had always know this day would come, so why did it hurt so much? It was the only reason that had stopped her from being too close to her family, because she was afraid of the pain that would come with it. It was the only wall that blocked her from it, the one thing that she couldn't break.

But had she knew it would've ended like this, she would've have tried harder.

The moment she was born, she knew that her family would not last for long. Gifted with the power over Death itself, she was a bomb, timed to explode.

She didn't dare to tell them after all this years, but something in her mother's smile told her they knew. They knew, but still they cared.

She had absolute power over Death, able to curse one with poison, cancer, or even torment. She leeched away Life at its fullest, and cast darkness upon the land.

And now, reality had come alive.

It's your fault, her mind whispered to her. You did this to them. If you haven't been born, this wouldn't have happen.

Stop.

Stop? Why? You were the cause of so many deaths, and now you won't even let your family go!

I didn't do it! She screamed. They were gone before I could even see them! How could I have done it!?

Guilt and pain clawed at her like an enraged beast. Her mind felt numb as she slumped against the wall. Something deep inside her told her that everyone she was close to were gone. Her friends, her family, her neighbors, everyone. Disappeared like they never existed.

She smiled bitterly. Rain felled down while thunder boomed over her head. Was this her fate? If so, was there really no more path for her to choose? She laughed madly, her eyes wild.

Letting herself fall into a void of despair and grief, she closed her eyes tightly.

If this was what she had to go through, so be it.

As long as she could stay like this, forever in a deep sleep, numb of everything around her.

And so, darkness claimed her as she fell, deeper and deeper...

Done! Hope ya all like it :)
