These are the tentative deadlines. We may change them if the situation arises.

August 7 - August 23: Submissions

August 24 - August 28: Judging

August 31st: Result declaration

Rules & Regulations:

All genres will be accepted except random and poetry. We may include poetry in the future contests but for now, it's been excluded. Mature stories are not allowed.

The entry can be a standalone or in an already existing book of short stories but it should be a one-shot.

Your entry must be in English and it should not exceed 2000 words. You are allowed a small leeway of 10 words but no more than that.

Follow esthetiquecommunity so you won't miss any updates from the community! However, this is not a necessity.

Give a shout-out to this book to spread the word and add this book to your public and private reading list.

We request you to be kind and patient towards everyone involved. Hate, rude comments or harassment will not be tolerated.

Please submit your entries through the form attached below (also given in the comment section). Any entries submitted via any other source or platform will not be entertained. No entries will be accepted after August 23rd.

Prompts

You will be given two prompts to choose from. In both of them, you are given the plot line of the story. You have to draw inspiration from it and create your story following the same. You can choose any genre, any tense, any style of narration, be as creative as you want.

Prompt 1: It was a butterfly they saw. But that one butterfly was the one to lead them to their fate.

Prompt 2: You are mistaken for someone else but goes along with it.

Prizes

The number of winners will depend on the number of entries we get. Initially, we will be announcing three winners but if we don't have enough participants, we may change it later on. The same will be conveyed to you in due time.
