Sapphire Simps
Prompt: [Player name] fell out of the world
Note: This is a continuation of their first entry
"I trusted you, Ex. Why didn't you do the same?"
Ex could barely look at Grian. He could practically feel the hate and anguish coming from Grian. He could barely speak as he watched Ex. Ex didn't want to meet his friend's eyes.
He wasn't even sure if Grian was his friend anymore.
"...How?" Grian choked out. Ex winced at the raw pain in Grian's voice, and he couldn't stop the waves of guilt that rushed over him. "How could you do all this? I trusted you, goddammit! I opened up to you like no one else. And this is how you repay me?"
Ex took a shaky breath and finally looked up at Grian. Grian stared at him with the most hurtful expression he had ever seen, and that singular look spoke more volume than a thousand words. He didn't know what to say. What could he say?
Grian's expression hardened as Ex continued to stay silent. "Fine. I see how it is." He hurriedly ran a sweater sleeve over his face. "You can't even apologize. You don't feel bad for all of this, do you? This was your plan all along."
Ex paused before nodding, and Grian scoffed quietly. "I don't believe you! You're no better than them, are you? You just want to control everything, and you would do anything to accomplish that. You used me! You manipulated me into trusting you."
He didn't feel bad. Ex had to admit that. He had to be the person Grian wanted him to be. He had to stop this. But..did he really want that?
No. Not at all.
"You don't understand," Ex started, finally speaking. "I had to."
"Oh, you had to!?" Grian asked, his voice growing in volume. "You had to kill my friends and destroy this world, huh? That was a necessary sacrifice to what you need to do. I take back what I said about you being as bad as the Watchers. You're worse."
"G--Grian--" Ex started, then stumbled as the void lunged forward, swallowing the town hall in one fluid move.
"Look what you've done!" Grian yelled, tears flowing freely now. "They're gone. All of them. Evo, Hermitcraft...there's no one I can trust anymore. There's no one here."
Ex shook his head vehemently, trying to shut out Grian's yelling. He was doing the right thing, he needed to do all of this. It was necessary.
"You're not even listening to me anymore," Grian said, his voice dangerously low. "You never did, huh? I don't know why I bothered. You're not going to budge. I know that from experience--not that you knew anything about it."
He reached into his inventory, and Ex was sure he was going to draw his sword and kill him. Instead, he pulled out a handful of rockets and expanded his wings, throwing Ex one last look before he rocketed off into the sky.
"I guess there's no reason for me to stay here anymore."
And with that, he flew headfirst into the oncoming void, disappearing just as fast as he had flown up.
Grian fell out of the world
Xisuma looked over the world, and watched, as one by one, his friends- no, his family, disappeared into the void.
The safe haven that he once maintained, now being torn apart by the one he had once trusted. His brother.
X turned to face him, watery brown eyes searching Ex's for an answer. "Why? Why did you do this?" Ex shrugged. "You banished me to the void, and left me for the dead. This is payback. You destroyed my life. Now, I get to destroy yours."
With a cruel smile, Ex looked down upon his older brother. "This is all your fault, you know. You were the one who threw me away, and now you get to watch your precious hermits die for it. Ironic, isn't it?"
Xisuma held in a choked sob as he realised the truth of Ex's words. This was all his fault, and there was nothing he could do to fix it.
He would stare at the approaching darkness that claimed the lives of his loved ones, and know that he was the reason they'd never watch another sunrise.
Scar would never win the war against the mycelium.
Grain would never pull another prank.
False would never destroy him in another PvP fight.
TFC would never mine another block.
The hermits would never laugh or smile together again.
Looking back towards the one that had caused him such pain though, X realised that he couldn't hate him.
After all, X had brought this upon himself. He abandoned his brother when he needed him the most.
Ex had every right to be angry, just as X had every right to despise him. But he didn't. Because even after all that was said and done, X still cared.
Even as his brother pushed him into the cold embrace of the void Xisuma still loved him.
Xisuma fell out of the world
Ex had watched as the Hermits all died one by one. The one person who cared about him fought him then jumped in shortly after and he even pushed his brother into the void. Grian had taken pity on Ex and even gotten the Admin to let him back in, which was a mistake. All he did was destroy the world, the void had taken over the server and he was the cause of all the death.
Now Ex was alone. The only person who cared about him gone, the only person who'd call him a friend, who had said he trusted him. The guilt grew stronger as he realized he could feel something for the builder, but still wasn't sure what that was.
The void was growing still, slowly rising to claim the world. It was a beautiful site to Ex. He lived in the void for so long, why not just bring his home up where all the fancy builds were.
As Ex watched, he didn't notice that all the builds were being destroyed, that the world was being overtaken by the void. He had assumed he was stronger and in control of the void, that he would be able to stop it at the point he wanted. But it didn't listen. It kept growing despite Ex trying to stop it.
Slowly, the only part of the ground left was where he stood. The void was going to claim him as well as all the others. He couldn't stop it, there was nothing he could do. Ex felt guilt claiming him as well, he deserved this, this was just karma for his actions.
Ex closed his eyes as the void took the ground out from his feet and he fell.
