Short story:

Journal Entries

A happy layer covers the front, but inside darker thoughts and feelings are hidden. They walk around with a notebook in their hands. They are never without it. Wherever they go, it goes. Colorful stickers decorate its front giving others small glimpses of their nicer interests and traits. Those are the only part of the notebook other people see.
Inside the notebook thoughts, ideas, and feelings are scribbled. Dreams and nightmares drawn for all and none to see. The notebook keeps secrets for its owner. It's a therapist that can do nothing but listen. It allows the owner to vent out their heart. It looks after their darkest desires. It hears their saddest songs. It sees their tear filled drawings. It feels their rough marks.
In return for these responsibilities, the owner protects it with their life. It holds their heart, they hold its pages. No one but them has ever touched the book. It allows them to be happy, they allow it to be useful. Maybe one day they'll let someone see inside, but for now, one person knows, and that's enough for both.

Notes:

The story is based a lot off of me. I almost always have a notebook or sketchbook on me though none of mine have any stickers on them. Most of my notebooks I do let others see and stuff, but there's one or two that I'm very selective with. One of them, more specifically one of the pages, I will not show anyone at least for quite a long time. Well, I hope you enjoyed this story and if you use the prompt feel free to ping me! I would love to see what stories you write!
The End for now! ~Violet
