Day 9 - Favorite Book By Another Author

So there are many books I enjoyed but of all of them, one definitely sticks out. It's a book I have read at least five or six time and I usually dig it out around Thanksgiving every year and at least skim through it.

It is written by one of my favorite authors, John Grisham, but it is nothing like his usual law thrillers. The title is Skipping Christmas (and the movie is actually almost like the book ). I can't remember the times it made me laugh, and even that lovey dovey sweet teeth pulling ending works for me. For all of you who don't know this book, you really should check it out.

I also want to give honorary mentions to two books that made me cry (one even in the middle of an airport AND a subway on two separate days, so that was quite embarrassing. THANKS eL!!!!)

So the first honorary mention goes to my WP friend and Amazon best selling author ElicaHyder for her book The Bed She Made. Have tissues ready, or you'll regret it. While you accompany Journey on her path of self-discovery and witness her many screw-ups which makes her such a relateable heroine, you will experience raw emotions that go under your skin. It's definitely a story you shouldn't miss.

The second honorary mention goes to an author I usually don't touch, which is James Patterson (a bit too gory for me at times). He wrote a book that was recommended by a work colleague of mine and which I devoured in one afternoon - or at least I enjoyed it until a very unexpected plot twist made me cry like a big baby. The book is called Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas and also includes one of those life lessons that I have lived by ever since. Instead of the cover (which I am sure you all can find on google images), I want to share this little part of the story with you:

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon :)
