I think it is safe to call me a foodie. I love all kinds of food–sweets, cakes, and chocolate in particular, but also different dishes from around the world. The Asian continent, especially Sushi, Thai, Chinese, and Indian is definitely up there on the list though the best meal I ever had was ostrich steak with chili chocolate sauce in Cape Town, South Africa.

Just as I love food, I enjoy the art of dining. Give me a three-hour multiple course meal over any movie every day of the week. It might have been my husband's and mine favorite activity–drove the waitresses in the States nuts when we blocked a table for ages, only ordering one course at the time so she couldn't rush us (though we did tip well in the end).

My love for food is also reflected in my writing–you will rarely find detailed descriptions of an outfit or details about a car, but you will always get insights on my character's culinary choices. Most of my characters are coffee junkies and indulge in ice cream with Pizza as their absolute favorite. I guess you sometimes can't deny your own preferences to touch the lives of your characters.

Now all that talk about food has made me hungry and I'd better fix dinner. In Germany, it's asparagus time, so that'll be on the plate tonight, together with Hollandaise sauce and cooked ham. Enjoy whatever you're having today :)
