The first book (if around 8K words count) was something I wrote when I was around eleven. It was a handwritten piece, carved in my neatest cursive letters with a real ink pen. Today, the manuscript is long destroyed by the hungry claws of a shredder. 

Back then, this famous German publisher Fisher Verlag was publishing children books, authored by tweens, and I thought I throw my hat in the ring. The story was about two friends who were vacationing in the South of France and just happened to stumble across a smuggling ring (hate when that happens). The thugs were trying to bring in contraband (and I can't remember for the world what it was) with a bunch of fish. A ruined vacation and loads of smelly fish were the end result, LOL.

Despite the diligent efforts of my dad's secretary who typed the whole thing up, the story didn't fly, though I did get a package in the mail after a few months from the publisher with a bunch of books and sweets. A nice lady had added a letter, encouraging me to continue on my writer's journey, which I did. About thirty-nine years and at least a million words later, I ended up here on Wattpad and would probably pay big bucks to read my story again. 

So now you got the beginnings of my writer's journey in a nutshell and can also figure out my age (Oops - yes, I'm that old).
