Tell us a bit about yourself, your journey as a writer and your foray into the Orange part of the web (a.k.a. Wattpad)

I've been a member of Wattpad now for 12 years! I found Wattpad after doing a Google search for 'where can I post stories for people to read"? I now have over 50 stories here, including some on another profile, some of which I have gone on to edit and self publish on Amazon and Smashwords. I love writing SciFi and Speculative fiction, often with a thread of m/m romance

1, 2, 3... Tell us about ONE story you would have wanted to write, TWO authors you admire, who inspire you.... THREE characters who often come into your mind when you start a new story...

Story, I would have wanted to write...one that creates a new and engaging world that readers don't want to leave. And maybe one day I'll get there!
Two authors I admire - this is a hard one! Only 2? George Orwell - social commentary through scifi, which still resonates today and Anne McCaffrey - a brilliant new world creator, and... dragons!
Three characters: The Soprano Sorceress (L.E. Modesitt), Jason Bourne (for action and thrills), Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood and Dr Who) (for being super cool)

What made you want to participate in the relay?

I missed out on the last one due to other commitments so I grabbed the chance for this round

How did you find the experience?

Interesting and engaging!

What challenged you the most in this venture? Something that maybe brought you out of your writer's comfort zone?

Trying to get my head around the hard scifi tech elements... in the end I skipped over some of this... :)

Something we are most curious about... How about you give us a little teaser of your part in this story? A sentence or two that will keep us on our toes and impatiently wait reading your chapter?

Makuy leant forward in xeir chair, hands gripping the arm rests and xeir crest pulsing ruby red with anticipation. The view screen showed mostly black space, only the light from far distant stars piercing the present background, but any moment, if all went to plan, xeir target would fill the screen with its foolish pinkness.

And while we are feeling the tease, as we consider the Science Fiction genre, we are all expecting wondrous worlds and weird alien species... Can you tell us about one element you brought to the Relay, one element you created for this story? It may be an alien race, a location in space, or maybe a special technology... Tell us about this special character, object, environment or settings you built up for your part in the story. What was your inspiration for it?

I invented the minnerscan - a portable device used to analyse the chemical composition of items, including amber

And just to make it even more understandable. This little part of yourself you added to make the story even greater, can you give us a definition as if it was an entry in The Great Dictionary of Science Fiction?
