Chapter Six

Her beautiful hair fell against her beautiful face as her eyes trained on the ground before her. By her side, Riley Mathews who was holding hands with the infamous Texan golden boy, Lucas Friar. She looks almost the same as the last I saw her about a year ago, except that smile that makes my heart beat a mile a minute was missing.

It didn't feel like my place to change the story that had already come to be. I felt obligated to let these characters lead their own lives and so I did just that, even if it meant jeopardizing my own selfish desires... When I made things right or as they always should have been, I went back to my world knowing I would be back one day.  When I told Maya I couldn't stay, she begged me not to go. admittingly we both wanted to get to know each other more. In the short time we spent together, we grew fond of each other. So, before I officially went home, I made her a promise that this time apart would not be forever. Someday I would come back to be with her, I just didn't expect it to be so soon.

Now, being here again, from what I can see, Girl Meets World had gotten considerably bigger than I had ever imagined...

I went to Topanga's looking for peace, maybe a danish, and some fresh coffee. And that's exactly what I got until I saw them one by one, trickling into the shop. My heart began to accelerate and my palms started to sweat.

"Hey! I've never seen you before. You new around here," Zay asked me.

"Uh, y-yeah. I just got here yesterday," I reply.

"Cool, where from?"

"Uhm, Michigan?"

"huh, that's interesting. I don't think I've ever met someone from there."

"Hey Zay! Come can I get some help over here," Lucas called out to Zay.

"Looks like somebody needs my help. It was nice meeting you uh-"

"- Y/n," I smile.

"Y/n. Well I'm Zay, and it was nice meeting you," he grinned.

I smiled to myself as he jogged over to Lucas who was at the entrance struggling to carry someone. I furrowed my eyebrows as he threw Riley over his shoulder, Zay carrying Farkle bridal style as they entered the establishment.

"All of this over a three-legged puppy?"

My eyes snapped to the source of that raspy voice and found the most beautiful person I have ever laid my eyes on, leaning against the door frame. She looks slightly older, matured rather and, but as beautiful as ever.

"Well, that does sound like a horrible sight. I don't know if I would have fainted but..."

Her unamused expression turns to a pleasantly surprised one as her eyes fall upon me.

"Y/n?"

For the first time in an entire year, I saw that smile again. She ran straight into my arms for a long-awaited embrace. After a while of enjoying the feeling of holding her in my arms, I finally decided to speak up.

"I couldn't do it anymore. I had to see you! God, there is so much I need to tell you," I sigh.

"So tell me, I want to hear everything", she smiles.

My eyes soften and I feel my body melt as she wraps her arms around my waist, holding on tightly.

I reach down into my pocket and pull out a golden locket, with my initials carved into it. I grab one of Maya's hands and place the jewelry inside it gently.

"I had this made for you, so that no matter where we are, in this world or the next, I will always be with you."

Maya stares up into my eyes, saying more than words ever could with just a glance.

"I've missed you. I thought about you every single day you were gone. I've been thinking about what happened before you left too. Not the whole save the world thing but when we-"

"Uh, why don't we uhm talk about that later, I chuckle awkwardly while glancing at her friends just behind her who have trained their eyes on us. Riley is now conscious and leaning against Lucas' arm, eyeing me specifically with intensity.

Maya looks over her shoulder and shifts awkwardly onto her heels, slipping her hands into the pockets of her black jeans.

"So.... Guys this is my friend Y/n", She introduces me which causes me to wave and smile.

Nobody says anything, instead, they all share glances and smirks between each other; all except for Riley.

"You love her," the brunette states.

"RILEY MATTHEWS!"

"Sorry not sorry," Riley shrugs with a smug smile.

I can't help but giggle at the interaction which earns me a nudge from the blonde beside me.

"Ohhhh I get it this is a special friend! Kinda like Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis in that one movie," Zay nods.

"Dear God we aren't friends with benefits!"

"Okay, if you say so," Zay says before smirking and flicking his tongue in a way meant to simulate oral sex.

"That's gay", Farkle jokes causing me to raise an eyebrow.

"You're gay", Zay chuckles.

"Only for you," Farkle winks at him.

"Am I missing something," I whisper to Maya.

"Yup. A whooooole lot," Maya replies before intertwining our fingers and leading me to sit in the corner with her friends.

"So, Y/n why don't you tell us about yourself," Lucas smiles. He really is that guy that you want to hate but you just can't.

"I would but there isn't really anything special about me," I shrug.

"I think everything about you is special," Maya smiles up at me innocently.

I can feel my cheeks beginning to heat up so i look away in an attempt to hide it.

"Yeahhh, so when is the wedding? I've never planned one before but I feel like I'm fully capable," Riley cheers.

"Oh God," Maya moans and hides her face in my neck.

It's crazy we have been reunited for less than an hour, but it's almost like i never left. I missed her. I missed this.

I squeeze her hand reassuringly and kiss the side of her face with a giggle.

"I've always wanted an outdoor wedding," I smirk....
