Chapter 9
"Wow. You look hot sis."
Bee stepped away from me with a look of approval. "If I was a dude, scratch that, if I was Namjoon.... I would totally smash bro."
I blinked and shook my head. "Stop talking. Just please," I begged her playfully.
She shrugged her shoulders in response and I went to my mirror. She wasn't wrong, she did do a banging job. I looked like I could actually date a celebrity right now. She contoured my face to perfection (not that I can't do that), but she also did this amazing smoky eye. I could never get my eyes to come out how I wanted. I've improved over the years but she just had the gift.
(B/f/n) flopped down on my bed and pulled out her phone, checking her own makeup. "I know you love to do lips, so I didn't do them for you." She grabbed my contour kit and started touching up her own makeup.
"I don't think I'll do anything over the top. Maybe just some gloss." I walked back to my desk and grabbed my lip bag. Since I'm so obsessed with doing my lips, I have a whole bag dedicated to lip products. Well two actually.
Sitting back down on my chair, I applied my gloss and took out my phone as well. It was on 64% because I forgot to charge it when I came back home. I opened SnapChat and checked my face out.
"Bee you really have to tell me how you do eyes so well. I always struggle." I took a pic and sent my streaks out, posting it on my story as well.
I didn't really notice before but I had a huge amount of adds on Snap. I wasn't to ask who someone was when they added me, but it sure was suspicious.
Then I remembered. My Snap is posted on Instagram. I shook my head in defeat. These girls sure do make sure no loose ends are left in terms of keeping up with things.
Scrolling through, I decided to add some of them back.
"Well," Bee finished her makeup and turned my way. "You don't really do bad anyway, you just need to work on eyeliner and blending." She got up and looked at my phone.
"Woah these girls are everywhere. At least your views will go up like you always wanted."
"That's true," I said while laughing. "Do you think I should post on my stories that I'm going live?"
She went back to my conversations on Snap and scrolled through the list of people that were now texting me. "Sure. But they would come either way, trust me." She stopped scrolling and I turned to face her.
I bit my lip and then sighed. She smiled at me and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "(Y/n), you won't mess this up. When you're really focused and serious, you have such a way with words. You're convincing. You'll see Namjoon, I know it. Plus don't forget who got us concert tickets," she said the last part in a singsong voice and I broke into a wild grin as she shimmied away from from me.
"How could I forget? Will you be joining me or?" I turned back around to my desk to find a spot to situate my phone. Everything had to be perfect. Nothing could look wrong or off.
"No, but I'll be in the comments chatting and making sure I don't need to come in." Bee grabbed a notebook off my shelf and flipped through it as she sat back down.
I nodded, even though I know she wasn't paying attention to me. I found a way to sit my phone up at the perfect height. I decided that standing up to talk would be part, but my pop socket was giving me trouble in doing that.
Clapping my hands together, I got my best friend's attention. "I'm going to tell our parents we're about to go live." She saluted me as I walked out my room and down the stairs.
When I came into the kitchen, all eyes were on me.
"Honey, you look so nice." My mom came over and hugged me.
"I don't know about that shirt though," Bee's dad looked over my outfit skeptically.
My dad cosigned and it took everything in me not to roll my eyes. "It's fine, plus I'm wearing a blazer with it." I pulled at my blazer and gave them a look.
Bee's mom came over and threw an arm around me. "They're just mad, because we have two beautiful daughters." She smiled at me and I returned the gesture.
"I just wanted to tell you guys, I'm about to go live. So, wish me luck?"
"You don't need it, you'll be fine." My dad leaned against the counter like he had the utmost confidence in me, and I guess he did.
I moved from underneath the two women and walked back upstairs. "Thanks you guys," I called back down.
As I ran into my room, a little speech began to form in my head. I knew what I wanted to mention, I knew what I wanted to say, just how to present it would be the weird part.
Bee closed my notebook when I ran in, already grabbing her phone. "Ready?"
"Yea," I nodded. "Just let me grab something." I went on my desk and picked up the notebook from those many years ago. As I slid my finger across the cover, I knew I had to do this. I had to prove myself. Clutching the book to my chest, I smiled.
"Now I'm ready."
"Wait, you're going to show them? But that's so personal to you, why would you-"
She paused. She looked at the notebook in my hand and I could see that she knew what I was thinking. She looked down at her phone and then back at me.
"Go for it."
Going up to my phone, I closed out all my apps but Instagram. When I opened the app, I had even more dms and notifications than before. I decided to ignore them and not get caught up in my feelings again. From now on, I have to show that the hate doesn't bother me.
Clicking on the camera, I hesitated. All the possible bad outcomes came rushing back to me. Before I knew what I was doing I clicked it and swiped to the live option.
(Y/n), now is not the time to be scared. This isn't just for you, it's for Namjoon.
I started the live.
As soon as I did, I took a step back and tried to watch the number of viewers. It didn't move for a couple of seconds, but then it quickly said 100 people had joined. I smiled over at Bee and she did the same to me.
"Hi everyone." I waved at the camera. I checked the comments and saw a couple people saying hi back and waving as well.
I checked the viewers and saw that about 500 people were watching.
"Wow you guys are really curious aren't you? I can understand why, if my favorite celebrity had gotten a soulmate, I would be too."
Looking through some comments I decided to answer some questions while more people joined. "Natalie wants to know if I had ever heard about BTS before this whole fiasco." I straightened back up and smiled.
"Actually no. I didn't know until about the beginning of June. I heard about them from kids at school, but I was always focused on schoolwork rather than music or trends. Guess that's why I'm kind of nervous. I'm soulmates with someone in the biggest band with such loving fans. I want your approval too."
Suddenly, there were a bunch of hearts floating across my screen and my eyes widened. I looked at the comments and many of them were saying they liked me so far. That they were just protective. I saw a couple of hate comments but I decided to ignore them, in fact some I deleted.
Looking back at the view count, I saw a couple thousand of people were watching. I took a deep breath. It was now time to go through with this.
Before I stood back up one comment caught my eye. "You got this girl!" It was written in all caps and I couldn't help but laugh. I glanced at Bee and saw her watching with her earbuds in. She looked up when she saw me look off camera and shot me a thumbs up.
I turned back towards my phone, a smile coming across my face. "Let me tell you what's really going on loves."
Ahahaha
