It doesn't matter what age you started writing. It doesn't make you any less of a writer. I've met writers who have been writing for years and writers who only just started, and they all have equal potential.

Comparing yourself to other authors will be the detriment of your confidence in your writing.

It doesn't matter if your style is nothing like the style of an author you wish to emulate. You have a unique style.

Be YOUnique. There's a reason you don't write like Jane Austen or Edgar Allen Poe or J.R.R. Tolkien, or J.K. Rowling or any other author held in prestige that you could think of. It's because you're YOU, not them.

You'll find and develop your style the more you write. You don't even have to worry about style, you can just carry on writing without caring at all about it.
