Chapter 5

———
She stood in front of the mirror.

She imagined all sorts of clothes to wear. Nothing from her closet certainly, but she liked pretending they were.

She was a little hungry, so she was going to go to the dinner and maybe make small talk.

She was nervous about this, but she couldn't place why. She asked herself the question so many times.

Why was she scared?

What is she scared of?

When did she start being scared of everything?

It didn't make sense. She thought she was normal- not counting the extra curricular activities she participated in. They were definitely not something kids did in middle school.

With a sigh, she turned from the mirror and thought about putting her quills up- even though it would be in vain again. Her quills don't stay up the way she's like.

Perhaps she could wear a hat?

———-
She walks out of her house and begins to go down the street. She fidgeted as she came closer to the rest of the town.

She got a couple of stares or glances. She felt self conscious so tried to hide her hands, putting them into her dresses pockets.

She passed a mime- she remembered them from college.

She remembered those few times she'd go to the classroom or to a tutor. They were there at campus doing one thing or another.

They seem to have recognized her. She waved back timidly; because she has met them before, she isn't so nervous to interact with them.

"Hello Mime.", she mumbled.

They signed something she didn't understand. She may try to learn sign language if she ends up meeting them more than once.

"Ah.... I-I don't know... sign language.... Uh... It's nice seeing you....", she blinks and swore she saw a sword pierce Mime.

Where would a sword come from though?

Mime was still standing, so it couldn't have happen and she walked a way.

Flaky makes it to the dinner. Before she steps in, the door swings open into her and falls back. A yelp left her as she fell and the person that opened the door only scoffed at her.

They were twins; they just walked a way without looking at her again. She sighed and stood up.

Dusting herself off, she entered the dinner. It wasn't so busy today. Walking to a corner table, she sat down and picked up the menu on the other end of the table.

"Hi Flaky.", with a jolt Flaky looked at the voice.

It was Giggles with a sweet smile.

"Hello... Giggles....", she mumbled.

"Will it be the usual?", she asked.

"Yes.... And a milkshake...", Flaky shyly smiled.

"Alright! By the way, I love your outfit. The hat is a nice touch, Flaky.", Giggles complimented and patted her on the shoulder.

"T-thank you! You- you look good too!", Flaky blushed.

"I know! I designed the uniforms after all!", Giggles said proudly.

Functional, cute, and color coordinated jumpsuits to replace the classic waitress uniform. Giggles was sick of the weirdos making her uniform an excuse to be disgusting.

It's a uniform! It's suppose to be professional, not distracting! Stop making it weird you, fxcks!- is what Giggles lamented one day.

Flaky sweated as Giggles walked a way and let out a breathe. She did well, she definitely earned that milkshake!

POV CHANGE

He noticed her walk in. It was the girl from the library. She wore a cute, green dress with a cute, green hat. They kind of match if he would go so far. He was wearing red after all.
He sat in a corner, felt safer that way. Perhaps he'll get to talk to her today?
