Ruby: How does this, fusion thingy, work?

Ozpin: If it's between two people, then they need to be of around equal height and magical power. The technique is called "The fusion dance"

He pressed a button on his scroll and a hologram of some kind of old document popped up. It showed two people taking a pose, and it gradually changed, showing them what they needed to do.

Weiss: That's... really embarrassing

Pyrrha: But there's five of us. One would be left out

Ozpin: Yes, if you could only do it with two people. But there's a technique with five, allowing those of any power and height to become one, ultimate person

Yang: What's the point of doing just the two person one then?

Ozpin: With two, it lasts 30 minutes. But due to the amount of power they fused person outputs, it lasts a brief fifteen seconds.

Pressing another button it showed a simulated demonstration of five people doing a different dance. They all linked up in the middle and fused into one, making Blake look down to her own hands.

Ruby: What happens if we mess up?

Ozpin: Then you'll be ejected from eachother. Each time a fusion ends or fails you'll have to wait an hour to try again

Blake: How do you know i'm capable of doing this? I-I mean, Ruby's and Yang's parents were capable of magic, but what about Weiss as well?

Ozpin: Everyone is capable of using magic. It's just that over millennia people have forgotten it exists

She nodded slightly before Ozpin looked between Yang and Pyrrha, seeing that they were around equal height. He then stood up, pressing another button which made two holographic outlines appear in the room

Ozpin: Now, Ms. Xiao Long, Ms. Nikos, please stand where the holograms are

They slowly nodded and did it, feeling a bit nervous. The holograms glowed blue but once their arms moved into the starting postion they turned red which made the two girls worry.

Weiss: What's happening?

Ozpin: You need to stay within the holograms, otherwise the dance will fail. Please, follow what they're doing

Pyrrha: I assume this'll fuse us?

Yang: Wait, i'm not sure i'm ready to do this

Ozpin: We don't have time for incisiveness, Ms. Xiao Long

She nodded slightly, still feeling a bit hesitant. The video was shown to them once again so they knew what to do, giving them some confidence as it seemed easy enough.

Taking a breath Pyrrha got into the position and activated her aura on instinct so Yang followed her lead and did the same. As the holograms began to move they followed, getting closer.

They pulled their arms back and turned their knees, hands closed. Quickly following the holograms the two shot their legs out and outstretched their fingers, the tips touching.

Suddenly they were enveloped in the colours of their auras and a large light appeared causing the other girls to cover their face from the light while Ozpin stared at it.

A figure formed, glowing a bright yellow but the two were suddenly shot away from each other as the light dissipated. Sighing to himself Ozpin went over to his seat and sat down as Pyrrha rubbed her head.

Ruby: D-Did it fail?

Ozpin: Yes, i'll just review the holograms to see what happened

He pressed a few buttons before the holograms appeared again and repeated the actions, but both turned red at the final point due to the angle of their arms being off which was shown.

Yang: We failed because of something stupid like that!?

Ozpin: Every action must be precise and perfect. There's no space for error... Ms. Rose and Ms. Schnee, if you could go up and try it

Weiss: I-It's way too embarrassing...

Blake: I'll try it

Ruby: Hey, yeah! I wonder what we'd look like... would we be a faunas, maybe only one ear?

Y/N: I-I don't know, he never told me...

In the dorm room for Emerald, Mercury, Cinder and Y/N sat the faunas male who stayed on his bed, looking down to his lap. Standing above him was Cinder who stared at him with her arms crossed.

Cinder: So you're saying you don't know how your own semblance works? This is why i find you useless... you can't do anything without your father, who even then can't do anything but lecture me. Damn fossil doesn't realise his place

Y/N: Don't say things like that about him...

Cinder: Then stop me yourself

He raised his head and stood up but Cinder pulled out a remote, looking like the one which controlled his collar. This made his eyes widen as he slowly backed away, gripping at the collar tightly.

Cinder: Weren't you going to stop me? Use that semblance of yours to overpower me...? You have to much strength, yet you shake and shiver due to a little remote

As her thumb hovered over the button Y/N pulled on the collar, trying to get it off, fearing what would happen. However before she pressed the button the door opened which made Cinder look over.

Stood there was Emerald and Mercury who were a bit shocked, both noticing the remote in Cinder's hand. She then put it away as they stepped inside, the green haired thief coming over.

Emerald: With all due respect, you can't use that!

Cinder: Are you giving me orders, Emerald...?

Emerald: I... N-No, it's just that...

Cinder: Not you, or Paragus, or anyone can tell me what to do. That's why i took this from him. Now learn your place, or i'll put that damn collar on you

She stepped closer to Emerald as her eye lit up in flames. Looking away she nodded but quickly reached into her pocket and took the remote, hiding it behind her back as the two guys watched.

Stepping back Cinder walked out the dorm room as Emerald let out a breath and looked to the remote while Y/N slowly stood up, Mercury on the other hand was confused as to why Cinder was so pissed off.

Y/N: Please... don't use it

Emerald: Use it? No, I'm gonna do this instead

She took the remote and threw it on the ground causing it to sizzle slightly. Looking over to Mercury she gestured to the remote so he shrugged and came over, stomping on it which caused it to smash into pieces.

Looking to it in surprise, and slight happiness, Y/N turned his gaze up to the two of them as Mercury lifted his foot, slamming it down on the remaining pieces so it couldn't be fixed.

Emerald: Always hated collars

Mercury: If anyone finds out about this, we're screwed

Emerald: Maybe... but we can count on you to help us, Right, Y/N?

Y/N: ...Yeah

Blake: What was that?

Over in Ozpin's office Blake and Ruby stood apart from eachother as the younger of the two smiled, obviously excited for this while Weiss, Pyrrha and Yang stood at the sides, watching them.

Ruby: We should say something while we do this! Otherwise it's kind of boring and embarrassing

Blake: Wouldn't saying something make it more embarrassing?

Ruby: No way, it'd make it cooler! Something like... Fusion Dance- no, how about... maybe... hmm- Oh, I know! Fusion-Ha!

Sighing quietly the faunas simply nodded in defeat which made Ruby fist pump with a wide smile on her face. Ozpin then cleared his throat which made them both get into position.

Ruby + Blake: Fuu... Sion

They held their arms out straight, pointing away from eachother but took three paces closer and brought their arms over their head, now pointing at eachother. Bringing their arms back they closed their fists and drew their knees to the side.

Ruby + Blake: Ha!

?: Hmm... Bluby? No, that's dumb. How about... Ruke? Man, it's hard to come up with a name...
