"That's it!" I hear, my bedroom door slamming closed. Looking up from my phone, I find my red-headed foil throwing a duffel bag onto the floor.

"Well hello to you too, khaleedessa, how was your trip?" Vienna rolls her eyes, dropping onto the bed next to me.

"I'm not your sister-in-law yet, Iris." Vienna runs her fingers through her hair. I put my phone down, giving her my full attention. "That fool can cut off a finger like it's his morning routine, but giving me a ring he's had for years is apparently too hard." She laughs, sliding on and off her Claddagh ring. "I can't possibly imagine why he thinks I'd say no."

"He shot you, you kind of hate the Society and everything he stands for, that whole sexual tension thing with Abella." I list off my fingers.

"I get it," she glares at me, to which I smile.

"But, he's an idiot for not snatching you up months ago." She smiles. "Anyways, how was your trip?" Vienna scoffs, before standing and beginning to pace around Jonas and I's bedroom. I sigh. "Alix."

"Who else. He's disgusting, Iris. He strangled me, he tried it with you..." she gathers her red silky waves in her hands. "You cannot tell me that there aren't monsters like that in Elleany." I try to force the images from before I met Erik out of my head.

"I assure you, there are," I say, shuttering.

"And is there anything to force them into a cell until they reach their Expiration?" In my experience, they reward them with a title.

"Not that I know of. But then again, I'm only Queen." Vienna stops pacing, smiles, and grabs my laptop from the side table.
