Luther, firstly, is a very patient man. His patience outweighs any other trait he might have. Luther is a very understanding person where judgement doesn't necessarily live. He understands everything and everyone is different and constantly changing. There's evil and good in the world and he's accepting of both unless they are morally horrid.
Luther is also a caring person. If you have special interests he heavily encourages them, even if they might seem out of pocket at times. He is a caretaker, a protector. Luther adores children and anyone that falls under the more naive mindset. In his head he believes he could help be a positive figure in their life.
Luther is a level headed guy who sticks with people who aren't necessarily wild, even if they are much younger than him. Luther is an admirer of art in many forms-artwork, music, plays, theatre.
Still, Luther still is a vampire and has the ability to really hurt people if they step out of line. He usually refuses to do this though.

╰┈➤OVERALL BACKGROUND
Luther was born in 1899-a different time than now. Growing up in the United States with a poor family, Luther scrounged around for most of his younger years. Throughout this time he had a loving mother, a loving father, and an older brother. In 1917 when World War 1 had been going for a year, he, his father, and brother joined the draft to fight for their country.
In the next year Luther lost his father and his brother became wheelchair bound from the injuries sustained. Back home and now at the age of nineteen, Luther was able to provide a loving home for his grieving mother. As years passed on Luther grew to the age of twenty two.
It was 1921 now and parties were the rave to which Luther indulged in cocaine and rich alcohol. During his twenty second year of life he really did dive into sex but this year he was murdered at a party and eventually changed by a vampire. For the next few years Luther went unquestioned. He'd go out at night, return to rest during the day but he managed to keep money on the table and provide for his family. When Luther was technically thirty his mother passed away and his brother married a lovely woman. In these years he watched his brother grow and he remained in his life even as he grew a family of his own. Luther longed for a family, a wife and children. Yet, he wouldn't do that now.
In 1941, at the age of 42, Luther left his family to join in WW2. In these next years Luther would grow severe PTSD. Only fighting at night meant he could sneak around easier but all of it caused so much heartache. The children, the families, the death. Luther couldn't bear the heartache but continued to fight for the sake of victory.
After the war was over and Luther headed home he was confronted by his brother and his brother alone. Luther was honest which the end result was his brother asking him to leave but keep an eye out as their family grew.
Years passed like minutes for Luther. He watched his brother grow old and shriveled while he remained just twenty two years old.
Luther did watch over his family. He watched his nieces and nephews grow along with their children. Every bit of them reminded him of his brother, his mother, his father, the lives from the wars he fought in.
Eventually Luther departed from his family to which he was on his own for the first time in the year 2000. His first time on his own was lonely. In 2004 he did meet a woman, a human, who was already pregnant. Oh, how he loved her and how he loved watching a baby grow inside of her. When his adoptive child was born he loved her more than anything else on the planet. Eventually he'd lost his partner through a werewolf who claimed she was his mate. He was happy for her, oddly, and with her not wanting to pry his adoptive child away she allowed him to raise the baby on his own.
Fast forward now in 2024 Luther has a 20 year old daughter and another adoptive child who is 26.
