Song ties in Woven

I wrote this out back around chapter 15, so I figured I'd share it here

————

These are all the songs I used/connected characters to when writing this book. I'll have blurbs under each song if you want to read a little into it,
or you could just listen to the songs and put it together in your own way.

It's laid out like this:
Name of song - Aritst : related character
Blurblurblurb etc.

.
.
Jane - Barenakedladies : Polly
Basically just a song that highlights what she would be like in a relationship. It would be fantastic and fun until they get too close and she eventually self sabotages and/or breaks up with the guy. She's traumatized by Tiberius and can never hold onto a relationship for too long before becoming paranoid and cold and somewhat uncomfortable because she's used to a relationship with turmoil, and if it's anything but rocky she gets scared/uneasy. She's terrified of making a genuine connection with someone romantically and them turning out exactly the way Tiberius did. Although she knows that this kind of power imbalance/toxicity in a relationship isn't normal within most relationships, she doesn't want to risk it all together and never lets a romantic interest too close.

.
.
Crowded Table - The Highwomen : Leo
The first time he felt friendship between himself and Y/n when she gave him her CTB tapes to make up for destroying SH's. He's lowkey excited that she's apologizing and trying to make a connection w/ him, and he can't help his thoughts traveling to the possibility of having a really tight bond with her in the future. Afterall, he only has two solid friends outside of his family, but neither of them are his friends before one of his brothers.

.
.
.
Good News - Mac Miller : Mikey
This one isn't tied to the story tbh, just a HC on how I think Mikey would feel after years of being the chipper, upbeat one keeping everyone but himself happy. It's not super involved w the story.

.
.
.
Suneater - Leanna Firestone
Just pure sweetness from Y/n's point of view. The feelings for him now blatantly apparent to her, and she is alright with having this crush and not expecting more. Simply appreciating him, while also taking note of how he's become such a big part of her life in such a short amount of time.  (Check this artist out, if the song title seems familiar, it's because it's originally written inspired by Tamaki from bnha)

.
.
.
Why am I like this - Orla Gartland : Y/n (also Frankie)
This question runs through her head every time she does anything embarrassing like yelling about hard drugs and getting caught by Janet and that dumb family. Then on a more serious and guilty level; when she lies to the CC, to the turtles, and breaks Leo's favourite show in a blind rage.
Frankie is just super awkward and wonders why he's like this, scaring all the girls he likes away, lying about having a girlfriend, or not being enough for Y/n.

.
.
.
Sit Next to me - Foster the People : Y/n
Y/n just be swooning for Leo, starting to realize how smitten she is and not leaning away from it, just feeling what's she's feeling.

.
.
.
The Thought of You - Logan Smith : Leo

  Leo is a simp.

But fr,,, he just in his feelings that he's embracing.

.
.
.
Fire Drill - Melanie Martinez : Polly, Y/n, Leo
Kinda the song that is like, 'uh oh' and the book starts to hit a dreading, not good moment and begins the climax of the story. It isn't really any one persons view, just meant to show the mood of what's happening in your apartment. Something huge is happening and no one really has a plan or knows what they should be doing, everyone scrambling to survive/do what they feel they have to before it's too late. (Honestly though, it's more the chorus of the song that I connect this too. The rest of the song you can connect to whatever you want/can but I didn't really pay attention to the verses very closely so... they probably don't line up seemlessly...🤷🏼‍♀️)

.
.
.
Something For Your M.I.N.D. - Superorganism : Polly > Mikey
Pretty much just Polly taking over Mikey, trying to justify what's happening to him in her mind. Not really digging into the lyrics, just liked the vibe.

.
.
.
Play The Part - ROLE MODEL : Floyd
Floyd be conflicted about his gf. Even though he now knows she was using him to get to the turtles he was like; 'well fuck, I still love you girl, and I know it's kinda twisted but I'd be fine being used by you if I can still be with you.'
Lowkey toxic, but he really cares for her and was going to do literally anything to keep her in his life. He knows that everything she's done should probably put a damper on how he feels, but it doesn't and he kinda doesn't care that it doesn't.

.
.
.
Til it happens to you - Lady Gaga : Polly
TW: I feel like I don't need to get too in detail about it since it's fairly self-explanatory, so I'll just say that the general idea was Polly explaining why she's doing what she's doing and you can't say it isn't right because you don't and can't know her trauma.

.
.
.
Killer - Palehound : Floyd
After Floyd hears what Tiberius has done to Polly, he has an overwhelming anger and hatred towards him.

.
.
.
Cemetery - COIN : Tiberius
Lmaooo fuck you Tibis
Old ass mf DIE

.
.
.
One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head : Fighting in the mansion//Polly
This song is about Chess, and Polly really do be out here with a whole ass strategy without actually having to put herself in immediate danger, treating everyone she's in kahoots with in a way that will get her closer to her goal.
Listen, this one is a banger, idk what else to say but fighting somebody to this song would be epic.

.
.
.
Moscow - Autoheart : Leo
My guy is in love, and he knows you love him too. Your relationship will hit inevitable hardships, but he has his full trust in you that despite the fact nobody can really know about you both and his inability to do the things most people do together, you won't hold it against him. He'll keep you safe and loved for as long as he can, appreciating you with his brimming heart whenever he gets to be around you. This whole paragraph can also be switched as Y/n's perspective. Very sappy lol

.
.
.
Pot & Kettle - The Sonder Bombs: Polly
This whole song is how I imagine Polly sees her frayed relationship with Henry after everything took place. [This could also be taken as her relationship between her and Floyd, but that relationship would be portrayed more in the last two minutes of the song.]
