You anxiously bounced your knee up and down as a little desk fan tried it's very best to cool your demeanour. It really shouldn't be as nerve wracking as it is to be sitting in this quiet, well-kept waiting room adorned with paintings of sunsets and other pleasant things.

You looked to Floyd who sat next to you. He wasn't fairing much better. His eyes dashed about like he'd stolen something and hadn't gotten the chance to bolt yet.

It was so quiet aside from the occasional telephone call to the secretary sitting behind his large desk. His stern eyes lifted to you both occasionally, seemingly annoyed but you couldn't be sure.

Floyd's hand gripped your knee and put the incessant bouncing to an immediate halt. Your eyes landed on his hand. "Oh, sorry." You apologized.

He retracted his hand and leaned back into his waiting chair. "It's fine, just relax." The irony of him telling you this seemed to be lost as his eyes went right back to darting about. "We'll be out of here in no time, no sweat."

You eyed him for half a second before settling into your chair. He was right, and even if he wasn't following his own advice, one of you might as well try to take it to heart.

"Y/n L/n?" A strong voice called.

You nearly jumped out of your skin at the bold voice. "Yeah?" You squeaked instinctively as your eyes sped to land on a towering woman. She stood proud at the door that led farther into this hellish precinct.

"Follow me." She said. However gentle she spoke it, it still shook you to the core. You stiffly stood and trailed after her, not risking anything to take a look back at Floyd.

As you pushed past the door, a flurry of people zipped about almost as anxiously as you. Stacks of paper were spread across every surface and each little garbage can next to each desk was almost filled to the brim with empty coffee cups and paper bags with grease stains.

They were all talking over each other, yelling for certain papers on cases relating to ninja. This shot a fresh bout of adrenaline straight into your blood stream.

The information they were trying so desperately to find was all locked away in your head. The floor suddenly fell away and the whole precinct became nothing but a tightrope act you had to perform quickly and accurately.

Finally you had reached a room across the frenzied office. The woman opened the door and let you beyond the threshold first before closing the door behind her. "Take a seat Miss L/n." She coaxed.

You obeyed, plopping down in an overstuffed chair in front of her desk. The chair was so plush you thought it was going to swallow you whole.

"Water?" She asked while grabbing a cup from the water cooler by the door.

You turned to see her. "Oh! Yes, please."

She offered a smile and filled the cup. "Sorry for all the commotion out there," She apologized and walked to her side of the desk, handing you the paper cup full of ice water, earning a small 'thank you' from you. "It's been that way ever since that bizarre ninja attack three days ago." She huffed as she sat herself in her leather chair.

You didn't reply as you took a long sip of the refreshing water.

"Right, I'm sure that shook you up quite badly," She said, sympathetically before pulling out a file and notepad. "But it's very much appreciated that you came in on your own volition. You and Mr. Peters."

You pulled the cup from your lips and offered a weak smile. "I figured it'd be helpful to figure out what that attack was all about." You placed your cup on the edge of her desk.

She hummed and flicked through a few papers in the manila folder. "Well, that's precisely what we hope to uncover."

Your eyes fell from her to her name plate. It read; Capt. Genevieve Moretti.

Alright Genevieve, I'm about to fool the fuck out of you.

"Is it alright if I record this conversation?" She asked as she pulled out a little recording device from her desk.

Your blood went cold but you stayed cool as a cucumber. Keeping a level head was all you had to do. "Yeah, go ahead." You wave your hand.

She offered a kind, brief smile. "Great." She pressed a button and spoke clearly and concisely. "Record twelve: Y/n L/n." After that the device was placed between you both as a readied pen took its home in her hand.

"So, Miss L/n. What happened the day of November seventeenth?" She asked, clicking her pen to life.

"Me, my roommate, and a girl he's been hanging out with were hanging out in our apartment when suddenly these bunch of ninja people and big, alien things come crashing into our windows and were fighting." You took a second to think, genuinely trying to recall what happened that day when the days that followed were far worse. "We all tried to hide behind my kitchen table, things were being thrown everywhere and everything was getting cut up, they all had swords and stuff like that.

"Next thing I know one of the... things... They saw us behind the tables and grabbed Floyd and I and ran," You finished.

Genevieve hummed as scribbled. "What about the other girl?"

You shook your head. "I don't know, they just left her behind."

Her eyes thinned in confusion. "Do you have any idea why they'd do that?"

You shook your head again. "No. They probably would've been strong enough to pick her up too."

She began to scribble in her book again for a long while. "So, just for the record, what's your roommates name and the girl's name."

"Sure, my roommate's name is Floyd Peterson, and the girls name is Polly. I don't know her last name." You confessed.

"That's fine. Are you aware of who she worked for?" She asked.

You tilted your head. "Oh, uh, yeah... Tiberius Ashmore."

She nodded with a sharp glint in her eyes. "And did you ever have the chance to observe the relationship between Mr. Ashmore and Polly?"

A cold sweat broke along your spine as you focused all your energy into keeping a casual posture, but it was for naught as you cleared your throat and avoided her eye contact for a moment. "Yeah, I did."

She jumped on this. "What was it like?"

"Uh..." You looked about briefly before reigning yourself in. You needed to be genuine now that you'd acted suspiciously. "It was uncomfortable..."

"What made it uncomfortable?"

You took a slow breath before explaining. "He came off... kinda creepy. Polly seemed scared of him. Like when he got too close to her she'd shrink away or clam up." Like hell you were gonna divulge any more information you had. They had to know by now that Tiberius was dead, and you weren't giving even a sliver of a notion that you knew anything.

"When did you meet him?"

Oh god. I really thought there were gonna be more questions about the turtles.

"At that fall ball the Ashmore's were hosting."

She eyed you. "Why were you there?"

You kept your heart from aching as you answered. "Well I was actually invited. Henry and I have the same classes."

The way she hummed made you think she already knew that. A dangerous feeling danced about in your head as she shifted through some papers in front of her. "Would you say you were close?" She asked with her eyes flicking to you once and a while.

You cracked a half hearted smile. "I mean, I guess so. We were friends."

Her eyes slipped towards you as she slowed her paper shuffling. "Were?"

An uncomfortable warmth crawled up your neck. "Uh yeah." You shifted about slightly. "We kinda... stopped being friends."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Why's that?" She asked passively, but her eyes transfixed on you so intensely that your body felt smaller under her microscope.

'Because I enabled someone to kill his dad' didn't seem like the right answer.

"I was stupid, I did some shitty things and we fought about it. I don't know if we can come back from it." You said with a small shrug of your sunken shoulders as you looked off.

The woman didn't show a hint of any emotions or clues to her thoughts. "What did you fight about?"

You laughed uncomfortably. "I uh... I kinda said some bad things about him and he found out about it."

A simple answer, not like they could really disprove something like that. You could only pray they weren't going to ask Henry about you, if they were even in contact with him. You doubted he would be wanting to talk about what happened that night either.

She didn't have a reaction as she took note of it. "What kind of bad things?"

Ah shit! Hurry!

"I uh... kinda said he was a sheltered rich kid, and I didn't really back down about it either when he confronted me," You bluffed effortlessly.

The captain stared at you expectantly, as if pressuring you into saying something else, trying to make you sweat and slip up. Little did she know your back was already drenched.

"Was that all you said?" She probed.

"Yeah... It's bit of a sore spot for him," You replied honestly.

She jotted a few things down and placed her sharp eyes back to you. "Okay, let's back track a little bit here." You nodded, but she wasn't looking for permission. "You said that ninja and giant green aliens burst into your apartment and started fighting. Explain that to me."

You almost scoffed in disbelief as you cast her a confused stare. "I mean, we were all sitting at the table and suddenly the place is swarmed with ninja and a few of those green things." You shook your head. "Not much else to say aside from it being horrifying." That much was true.

She noted a few more things down, the quiet only coloured in with the scratching of her pen. The seconds ticked by, muted within the four beige walls littered with dated decorations and brass coloured plaques. This pocket of time was merciful in its mind-numbing mediocrity.

Finally, she lifted her head and focused in again. "So where did these aliens take you and Floyd?"

"Just down the street, out of the fight," You said calmly.

"Have they done anything or encouraged you to do anything?" She remained stone-faced.

You shook your head. "No, not to my knowledge."

She cocked an eyebrow at you. "Really?"

"Yeah..?" Something turned in your stomach. Had you forgotten something?

She hummed before passing you a still from the video you saw on the news. It was you throwing an egg back at the ninja. A shock of horror zapped through you.

"Then how could you have known how to use their equipment?" A leering energy suddenly swirled around your head at her inquisitive words.

"I just saw them use it before." You stated boldly.

The captain wrote something down before landing her eyes on yours in a stern stare. "Where would you have seen that Y/n?" She asked coolly.

Your windpipe closed in of itself like sand pillars. Although it wasn't technically a lie, in this false scenario it'll ends with a contradiction if you claim they threw them in the fight prior. Since they didn't, there is zero evidence of the egg smoke bombs in the apartment.

Your heart started to race uncomfortably in your throat. It beat so hard you swore you could just pluck it from the back of your mouth and toss it away.

Someone needed to ground you. Your feet left the floor and you floated away on a wind of overthinking, trapped in a brain maze. A wave of nausea crashed down on you as your mind flit and fluttered from one unreliable response to another. If only Floyd went first, he wouldn't make this kind of mistake!

Wait... Floyd!

The flood of recall muddled your memory with desperation, but you were sure of yourself. You had to be. "I actually saw Floyd and the alien carrying him doing it, so I followed suit. The things didn't seem to mind it though. Probably glad we were doing something like that anyway."

Easy peasy.

The woman fully showed some kind of true emotion in the form of a fleeting deflated expression. "I see." She eyed her watch for moment. "So where did you and Floyd go afterwards?"

"We crashed at a friend's place." You admitted.

"Who's this friend?"

"His name is Jamie Immer, I know him from a club we're both in." The lie was smooth but not well rehearsed to the point of sounding polished.

"What kind of club?"

You took a second to formulate an appropriate answer that wasn't too incriminating. "I guess... a sci-fi one? We mostly focus on paranormal stuff like ghosts and urban legends."

She hummed, still scribbling. "Is Floyd in this club?"

"No, he's more of a sports guy," you say with slight distain at the notion.

She stopped writing and took a long look at everything scratched down on her notepad, taking long enough you could've sworn she'd checked it twice over.

"Alright then." She placed the notes down on her desk. "Those are all the questions I have for you today. I'll reach out if I need any more information."

As she stood, you quickly followed. "Thank you for coming in voluntarily Miss L/n." She reached her hand out towards you. You accepted her hand in a firm shake. "Floyd should be done soon as well. When he comes out you're both free to go."

A slight twitch of shock spindled throughout your body, a noticeable jerk in the handshake. You fell into recovery mode. "Thank you Captian. Sorry if my hands are sweaty," You chuckle as the handshake continues a little too long.

Crap, I thought Floyd was going after! I hope he didn't stray from the planned explanations.

She gives your hand a single, final squeeze before slipping away. "Don't apologize, it's understandable. You've been through enough as it is, I hope you can get some more rest all things considered." She walks towards the door and pulls it open, "I wish you the best of luck getting back on your feet."

You fight the urge to frown. "Thanks." With that you walk out and are left to find your way through the busy precinct back to the lobby to wait for Floyd.

*•.*•.*•.*•.

The door to the precinct suddenly swung open, followed by Floyd emerging. You stood from the chair upon recognizing his upset eyes and squared shoulders as he strode quickly towards the doors to the outside world without you.

"Floyd?" You called. Upon the lack of reaction you narrowly caught the door after him and followed him out with a harsh shove to the door.

His pace didn't delay in the slightest as you call to him, but his body didn't so much as flinch at your voice. As the street seemed to fly past, you pick up your speed to a jog, running up behind him and placing a firm hand on his shoulder. "Floyd, what's going on? What happened—"

He whirled around on you fast enough to rip your hand off his shoulder. Blazing fire burned in his cold blue eyes as he glared. You stumbled back as your mind went blank with worry. His severe stare pinned you in place as he fought himself to stay quiet.

"What's wrong?" You asked with a smaller voice, unsure if you really wanted to know.

"What's wrong?!" He repeated ferociously. "Are you kidding me?!" He flung his hands out around him. "Take a look around Y/n! We have no place to live, no belongings, and are stuck in the middle of all this insanity! I can't afford to take out another loan, my student debt is high enough as it is already! I know you don't give a shit about university, but I don't want to fail this semester just to attempt to put my life back together!" He lowered his voice as he took a step towards you. "This is all because you couldn't just leave them alone."

A chilly fear wrapped it's claws around your spine. Although his words were true and drew blood, they didn't feel completely genuine, they were meant to lash out, meant to hurt. What triggered this? Why had he turned from you both being in this together to viewing you as the enemy? Swallowing your bitter pride was all you could do now. "What happened in there Floyd?" You questioned as steadily as possible given the circumstances.

His lips pulled together as they lifted with his shoulders in a wobbling sneer. Tears began to well in his glassy eyes, that could help but falter with their glare.

"Floyd..." you utter softly, as any hint of your frustration was ebbed away.

He choked back a miserable sound from his throat as his head fell to his desperate hands.

The sudden action had you jump as an lump of sticky ice fell heavily into your you stomach. Was it guilt? Empathy? Worry? Whatever it was, it was poisoned and imposed it's disgusting presence; winding and weaving its icy fingers about your soul.

You placed a tentative hand to one of his shaking shoulders, which quickly led to him diving forward into your arms. The initial shock of his sudden affection waded away swiftly as his eyes poured onto your shoulder. With shaky hands, you rubbed warm circles of his back.

"Will she come back?" The question was small and choppy as it rode on his trembling voice.

Can't say you were hoping Polly would make another appearance in your life, but in this moment you almost retracted that sentiment. "I don't know," you say and pet the back of his head, of which pulled snugly against your throat amongst another uncontrollable sob. The way he reacted from just those simple words made you refrain from sharing that she could very well be dead.

"Let's go." You ushered the man along, all he could do was cry into his hand while you lead him through the streets.

*•.*•.*•.*•.*•.

The light rapping against the door fell into the quiet home as you waited outside with Floyd a few feet behind you. He head remained low a weepy the entire walk back. You didn't pry on what happened to him in the precinct, but it truly didn't bode well for your nerves that he left in such an emotional huff.

Still, you just had to trust he did what he was required to and he'd just been remembering that awful night without saying anything about it.

The slightly chipped wooden door creaked open to the familiar platinum blonde dressed in a pair of baggy plaid pyjama pants. The warmth and light from within the home poured generously over you, plucking you both from the darkened cold outside. "Hey! How'd it go?" Jamie asked, pushing on the screen door further so it wasn't resting on you.

You sighed as you stepped in, narrowly followed by Floyd. "It was alright. They just seemed more interested in the Ashmore's than anything else."

Jamie tilted his head with a slight frown but didn't say anything further as Floyd brushed past solemnly. The skinny young man instead just closed the doors behind us and opted for a change of subject. "Well there's some food in the kitchen, I finished it up just a few minutes ago if you're hungry." He smiled at Floyd. "Grilled zucchini and quesadillas, get some while it's hot. And preferably before my roommates come crawling out of their holes for some too."

Floyd's eyes met his for only a second before falling back to the ground. "Okay, thanks." That was all he seemed to be able to muster as he shuffled to the kitchen.

You were about to follow him, but Jamie stopped you. "Actually, you have different dinner plans."

There wasn't time to wonder what he meant because he quickly hushed you and giddily led you towards the back of the house. He looked about then opened the back door to a yard drenched in the night-dyed darkness.

You looked about, puzzled upon seeing the empty green space. A few empty seconds of staring passed and you turned back to your friend. "Am I... eating grass?"

Jamie pointed up with an unimpressed expression, while a disembodied chuckle fell onto your ears. You quickly lifted your eyes to the side of the house and your heart skipped a few delightful beats. Suspended on the side of the home was Leo, hands curled around a small ledge in the houses build and both feet pressed to the wall, there was a plastic bag full of what you could only presume was food tied tightly around his belt. He shifted his feet against the siding to turn halfway towards you both and let his hand dangle down at his side.

"Leo!" You softly cried happily as your grinning face craned to meet him.

His amused expression melted with a soft, enamoured smile. He lifted a finger over his lips, causing you to cover your still grinning mouth and offering an understanding nod. He suppressed a laugh as he shook his head and offered you his free hand.

You turned to Jamie with an appreciative smile, one which he returned with a wave of his hand. That was all you needed as you climbed a porch chair, giving you enough height to be able to reach Leo.

Once you both gripped each others wrists he effortlessly hoisted you up with a swing which landed you against his back. You latched onto him with practiced ease as you both silently escaped to the rooftops.

It only took a few roofs hopped before you broke your silence. "Hey, Leo," You greeted, unable to contain yourself as you tightened your hold on him in a warm squeeze.

He peered over his shoulder and a nervous grin stretched across his face. "Hi, Y/n."

"What's up?" The question was playful but genuine in trying to gauge what this impromptu visit was all about.

"Nothing much, just..." He took in a deep breath and spoke on his exhale. "Just glad to see you."

A silence fell over you both. A warm feeling bubbled behind your cheeks at his candid words, causing you to clam up and tuck your head against the back of his neck.

There wasn't much travel time compared to the usual trek from his lair to your apartment. His leaping and sprinting came to a halt atop a slightly sloped roof clustered by tree branches all yellowed and growing sparse from the late autumn weather. He gently knelt down so you wouldn't lose your footing when sliding off. "Careful," He softly spoke, holding onto your thighs until he was sure you had balance.

"Where are we?" You asked quietly, squatting slightly as to not slip possibly down the roof. After all, your track record with rooftops was not the best at this point.

Leo smiled as he pulled a few branches in that crowded the roof out of the way, revealing a small space within which harboured a large, inviting blanket. "The perfect hideaway," He replied proudly.

Despite the falling leaves there was plenty of cover within the small pocket of space. Moonlight filtered through the pale leaves and around the web of wood. You shot him a grateful but wary look. "Won't the tenants hear us?"

The prideful look only expanded. "Nope. No one's home. And they haven't been ever since I found this place." He paused. "Which was a day ago."

You eyed him before figuring it wasn't a huge deal. After all, Leo was competent and you were done trying to think things out for the day. "Alright." You shrugged and crawled inside the little hiding place.
Leo crawled in after you, holding the plastic bag close as he untied it from his belt.

"So what's all this for?" You question as he sidled up next to you, the plastic bag now swaying freely in his grip. "I'm glad to see you too, but it's only been a couple days. Did something happen?"

He hummed a negative tone as he tore the a hole in the bag with his teeth, just below the minuscule knot. He turned his head away from you as he puffed out a piece of plastic bag from his mouth. "I was actually here because of what happened with you," He said thoughtfully as his eyes fled back to you. "You went to the police today right?"

You groaned lightly. "Yes, it went fairly smoothly, for me at least."

Leo didn't react as worried as you'd expected, instead he handed you a warm cylinder container with a fogged lid. "What happened?" He asked as he pulled the large blanket up and over your shoulders, then over his.

"Floyd got upset during the interview. I'm sure he stuck with the story otherwise he would've told me... I'm pretty sure he would at least... anyway, I don't really know what happened but it was probably when they started asking about Polly." An image of Floyd looking so devastated flashed within your head. You squeezed your eyes closed for a few seconds as if willing it away. "He asked me if she'd come back. He wants her to come back so badly even I can feel it. He's heartbroken."

Leo's eyes held to your profile as you spoke so solemnly, following every movement as you turned towards him. "I didn't have the heart to ask what happened in there. Not yet at least. But I promise I'll let you know what he says." You vow quickly as your shoulders square.

"Hey, it's okay." Leo smiles softly, placing a hand on your shoulder. "Don't stress about it right now alright? Let's just enjoy tonight, here." His hand fell to yours and have if a firm squeeze. "Together."

A small relief fell over you as your shoulders lost some tension. You let out a long breath and managed a smile. "Okay."

Leo grinned softly as he took a moment before retracting his hand with a clear of the throat. "Uh, here." He rummaged through the bag and fished out a pair of still packaged chopsticks, offering them to you.

"Ah, thanks." You accepted the utensils and now finally had the time to wonder what he'd handed you. With slightly chilled hands, you pulled the lid off the container just to be hit with a familiar, heavenly aroma you'd know anywhere.

Your eyes were saucers by the time you'd snapped your attention to the turtle next to you. "Mr. Ping's?!" You whispered excitedly as you subconsciously lifted the noodle bowl to your chest.

Leo grinned back at you with a nod.

"How did you get this?" You inquired as you looked back down to your bowl excitedly.

A warm chuckle fell into the crisp open air as he opened his own. "I asked Casey to pick them up after I ordered," He explained as he scratched his cheek bashfully. "I figured I should pay you back for the noodles you gave me before."

The flutter in your jailed heart was intense. "This was so thoughtful of you." You cooed as you gazed at him with the most tender expression he'd ever seen from you.

Leo's shoulders lifted suddenly as he subconsciously and nervously leaned away, unable to break the eye contact as he drank you in. "I-I—" he swallowed hard. "Well... I... It wasn't... heh, uh actually, Frankie... kinda gave me the idea." He looked away shyly, frantically trying to collect himself. "He... He really cares about you. Back in the base he wouldn't stop worrying about you and offered to bring you food, or anything you might have wanted... He's a good guy." It was almost painful to admit that, but he knew there wasn't a word of a lie, and honour bound him to mention Frankie's thoughtfulness.

The pained expression on his face had you speechless for a few moments as the pieces finally started to be put together. You couldn't help the suddenly amused smile that tipped the corners of your mouth. "Yeah. He is a good guy." You opened the paper packaging your chopsticks resided in and began rubbing them together "They all are. They're the best friends I could ever ask for."

The turtle cast you a curious, neutral glance.

"Truly there were never better friends to have ever existed." You mused, dramatically pausing while trying to cause Leo's expressions. Seeing no change you continued with a more exaggerated tone as you tilted you head up and leaned towards him a bit. "Yup. The very platonic relationship I have with all of them is truly something to behold."

Leo finally cracked up as he rolled his eyes. "Yes, okay Y/n, I get it," His airy voice floated with joy as he playfully shoved your shoulder away from him.

A laugh from you was knocked loose by his contact and soon enough you both fell into a pleasant silence, individually now tending to your respective noodles.

The chill in the air was held off well by the large blanket that enraptured you both. Unfortunately, the space between you both was still a noticeable, and quite frankly put a cold draft between the two bodies. You could tell he was thinking the same as his eyes often fell to you while he attentively tucked the blanket a little more over your shoulders every two minutes.

Your heart picked up to a gallop beating harshly against your ribs at just the thought of closing the space. Although you wouldn't ever admit it, you were nervous. Something about tonight felt different, like the space under these crowded branches we sat in a pocket of time and space removed from everything outside. A simplicity you'd missed, but now had more room to explore given that you felt the same way about each other.

A tingling in your fingers bloomed the longer you imagined them pulling him to you. The last straw was meeting his eyes only to have him quickly look away, trying to hide an embarrassed expression.

With courage now forcefully surging through you, you pulled yourself closer to him with still a small distance between your both, testing the waters. He paused mid-slurp of noodles, and slowly thawed with thick gulps of what was in his mouth.  He lowered his bowl of half-eaten noodles and looked to you who kept your eyes on your food as casually as possible, not giving much of a warning before tentatively encroaching towards him again.

He subconsciously lifted his arm out of the way as he stared with wide eyes at the beautiful human now pressing up against his side. You felt so perfect and warm against him, soothing the draft away in the most satisfying way he could have asked for. His shaky hand lowered with the blanket upon his arm, settling the thick, comforting fabric over your shoulders with his arm. Upon the contact you sighed content and snuggled up close to him, all reserves about the idea completely tossed out the window.

His face exploded with warmth as he stared down in a trance, gently snaking his arm around your shoulders a bit tighter in a satisfying squeeze. He slowly brought his free hand to your face and delicately brushed a wisp of hair away from your face. This tender action pulled your eyes to stare up at him followed closely by your head tilting up towards him.

"You're wonderful." He whispered, his hand still ghosting over your cheek.

It was your turn to feel embarrassed as a delightful mix of nerves and elation swam about your stomach like fish trapped in a bowl. For once, you were at a loss for words. All you could manage to do was stare up into his eyes. Those deep blue oceans that poured into your soul in a way you didn't know you needed, quenching a burning thirst you hadn't noticed until now. Your satisfied eyes noticeably flicked to his lips as yours lightly parted.

The young man's heart swelled and pattered at the minuscule action, forcing him to take a long breath to steady himself.

The hand that only lightly touch your cheek tantalizingly ran along your jaw and neck before gradually planting itself to the base of your head. His eyelids lowered halfway while he took the sight before him like it was the last thing he'd ever see.

Your gaze lifted to his again with an almost softly pleading mien. He sucked in a sharp, hitched breath at the sight, causing his grip around your shoulders to pull your body completely flush against his. Your hand trailed lightly along his chest and up to the base of his neck, eliciting a deep, shaky exhale at your touch as he inched his face close to yours.

Without any more wasted time, he pressed a kiss to your lips. Sweet, and chaste, and restrained.

This was the kiss you'd dreamed of. This was the first kiss you truly shared.

As you pulled away to try and compose yourself, Leo chased after you and captured your lips in another kiss. A hum of pleasant surprise pulled from you and he gradually became hungrier. He revelled in you as you did him, squeezing his upper trap lightly under your palm. The nonverbal indication for him to keep going spurred him on, cautiously tilting his head in hopes of deepening the kiss. Your heart was heating rapidly, sending out bouts of hot blood as you quickly reciprocated his action while snaking your arm farther around his neck and pulling him firmly to you.

He grunted to this, all reservations completely dissolved in that instant. The arm that held your shoulders slid down to your waist, pulling you closer as he turned his body to get more contact with you.

You had to finally break the kiss to take in greedy gulps of air, this didn't deter Leo though, as he began to kiss along your jaw and feverishly down the side of your neck. Your arms quickly readjusted around him, one hand cradled the back of his head as you tried to catch your slightly heaving breath. Unfortunately, you didn't have much to to try and level your mind because his lips quickly found a particularly sensitive spot just below your ear. There wasn't much else to do but tilt your head, offering more skin to him as a soft, satiated huff that fluttered out. A sound that instantly became addicting to Leo.

He hummed against your skin in satisfaction and slowly yet eagerly began turning completely to face you. His hand stayed planted firmly against your waist as he eased you down against the shingles while his mouth continued its work down your your collarbone. Your head lulled back completely until it rested against the building beneath you. You could feel Leo's leg lift over top of you and land in a  straddle while his arm beneath your back pulled you up against him.

The heat rising between you was palpable, a sweet but desperate fog muddled your brain in a delightful, dizzying way. With one hand wrapped loosely around the back of his neck, the other freely trailed his lean, muscular arm that propped him above you.

A gentle bite beneath your collar bone sucked in a sharp breath to your lungs as you pulled him back down against you. "Leo..." you huffed softly, to which he groaned against your skin before pulling away and looking down at you caged beneath him. Suddenly, an embarrassment rushed over you as your chest heaved slightly, decorated with small bites and early forming bruises.

His intense, inquisitive stare softened under your starry eyed expression. A tiny smile graced his face as the arm that held your back slipped out and lifted up to cup your face. You matched his smile with a shyer version of it and nuzzled into his palm before taking it in yours and placing a firm kiss to his palm.

He huffed a bashful and breathy chuckle and lilted his head down.

You quickly corrected this by hooking your hand under his chin and tenderly lifting his attention back to you. His amusement faded away into anticipation, complete and utter hypnosis even as he waited for whatever you wanted from him. The moonlight doused you both in a cold glow, and he couldn't help but note how ethereal you look beneath him.

Every movement of your lips had him hooked, attentively ready to do whatever they commanded of him. But the words that fell from them left him at a loss. "Thank you." You said, staring up at the beautiful creature above you with the moon haloing him in the most breath-taking way. His blue eyes nearly rivalled the brilliance of the moon tonight as their beams of light pinned you in place. Despite the power he held over you, he bared uncertainty.

You chuckled warmly, easily making him putty in your hands. "For being in my life," You clarified as your thumb brushed over his lips. "You're wonderful."

He fell into another gentle, nervous laughter but his eyes remained on you. You could actually feel his heart beat beneath the finger that rested against his neck. It was fast. Flatteringly fast. Still, he awaited your command.

"Come here," You said, wrapping your arms to the back of his neck. Finally, an order he'd been waiting for. He eagerly dove forward and slipped his arm back around your waist, giving a firm embrace to match yours as you both nuzzled into each other's necks.

To his surprise, a set of teeth set firmly against the base of his neck in a bite. He gasped and went rigid, as you chuckled against his skin and wrapped your legs around his waist. He didn't really have a lot of time for his mind to clear before you flipped over top of him, all he could really do was hold on to you tighter before finding you settled atop his lower waist while pinning his arms below you.

He stared up at you, pupils blown as he tried to keep up with what was happening. You only offered a mischievous grin that sent a tingle up his spine. "You're so cute." The words were light and teasing as you took in every detail on him beneath you, willingly not trying to change anything.

He flushed a darker tone at your compliment, but kept his eyes locked on you as he laid still.

You dip down and press a slow kiss to his cheek that was absolutely scorching. The next kiss fell along the bottom edge of his jaw, which moved as he swallowed beneath you. For the third kiss, you collected both of his hands in one of yours and brought you now free hand down to firmly hold his jaw in place as you ghosted your lips along his jaw then hovered above his lips. His eyes were low and dazed as he waited patiently beneath you, despite the heavy and quick heaving of his chest.

Just as you were about to plant the passionate kiss, a phone began to loudly ring. His phone. You halted your movements, your lips just barely brushing over his. "You better get that." You whispered with a slightly annoyed tone.

Before Leo could protest, you lifted yourself away from him and freed his hands from yours. He blinked a few times before an annoyed frown painted his expression in excess. He sat up and grabbed the phone with an angry grumble, answering quickly. "Yeah." He snapped sourly as he remained sat beneath you.

The voice on the line was fast, it sounded like Donnie.

The annoyed expression soon started to morph into something else. Surprise, shock, maybe even slight fear as he turned his eyes to you. You stared back as a bad feeling settled in the pit of your belly.

However, that pit was quickly crushed as Leo's face lit up with sudden interest, as if holding himself back from a sudden joy. "What?!" He cried. "Yeah! Yeah, I'm on my way!"

He didn't say anything else to the caller as he snapped the phone shut. He jubilantly grabbed you in a tight hug.

"What?! What's going on?!" You cried out.

"That was Donnie! He said he might have figured it out!" He cheered as he moved to get up.

You slid off his lap as a similar flicker of hope poured into your heart. "Are... are you serious?" You asked as a grin began to pull across your face. "You mean—?"

"—Mikey might be okay!" Leo finished, his eyes were misty as he quickly tossed his food into the plastic bag. You handed your over quickly as he tied it in his belt and you snatched the blanket up.

"Well let's go!" You cheered.

He looked towards you with a slightly restrained joy, as if trying to remain level headed. "Are you sure? Shouldn't you get back to Jamie's—?"

"Hell no, let's get going!" You cut him off by rounding him and jumping onto his back.

He laughed and didn't bother asking if you were sure. With that you both raced off into the night, blanket cloaking you under the moon.
