"Remember, staying calm is the best thing you can do. We'll be right outside the window, so if anything gets dangerous I'll stop it." Leo said with a reassuring smile over the shoulder, trying to make you less nervous.

I mean, maybe it would've worked if he hadn't said it so many times. It started to make you think he wasn't actually as sure about this plan as he was trying to seem.

"Okay, I got it Leo." You said as you all touched down in the alley next to your apartment building, all crouched behind a dumpster. You slid off his back and onto your wobbly legs, and faced the three.

"Don't worry dudette." Your attention diverted to the always cheery Mikey. "Your old pals the turts are here. We'll keep you safe." He reassured with two thumbs up.

A timid smile pulled up on your face before you closed your eyes and took a deep breath. "Alrighty then." You opened your eyes with slightly more confidence than before then rested a hand on both Leo and Mikey's shoulders. "Thank you guys." Your gazed switched between them all, even Raph.

Mikey broke into a big grin and Raph hummed gruffly, looking at the evening sky. "Hurry up and do this already, we shouldn't be so out in the open."

Leo sighed and drooped his head for a moment before lifting it once more, looking at you with a little, concerned smile. "Just... be careful."

You smiled back and gave a firm nod before slipping back around the dumpster to the moderately busy street.

The door to your building looked a lot more daunting than usual. An eruption of nerves tackled your confidence as you opened the door to the small, dingy lobby full of mail boxes with the receptionist, sitting across from them behind a large desk. She clearly had better things to do as she scrolled through her phone.

You wanted to run up the stairs, burst in and save Floyd from this woman. You wanted to be the valiant hero that overcome your emotions and help your friend. But fear was cement blocks weighing you down, pulling you back towards the street.

A cold sweat beaded along your back, palms and feet while your throat felt dry and scratchy. Climbing the stairs was a chore in of itself but knowing what awaited at the top? It just felt impossible.

The door loomed two floors up, and as it came into view muffled voices started to leak throughout the level. It was definitely Floyd, most likely attempting to make a joke.

Okay, nothing bad has happened as far as I can tell...

Reaching for the handle was the most taxing thing you'd done in years as your suffocating thoughts ate away at you from the inside out, claiming your rationale.

You reached out and slowly turned the knob until the door softly clicked open. The voices quieted, waiting to see who was walking in.

You stepped inside, immediately bombarded by two pairs of eyes with the ghost of amusement fading to a welcoming warmth.

"Oh! Hey Y/n!" Floyd greeted joyfully as Polly waved kindly with a warm, polite smile. The blonde man reached over to a chair next to him, pulling it out with one arm. "Join us!" He said happily.

You tried to speak but the words evaporated in your dry throat. Your eyes shifted rapidly between Floyd, Polly, Polly's big purse, and the chair waiting for you. "I—"

You needed to snap out of it.

Blinking a few times managed to focus you in on the situation and make an attempt to act cool. You slid into your seat across from Polly. "Yeah! Sorry, I'm just a little tired, heh." You lied, there was no way with this much adrenaline pulsing through your body, eyes momentarily flicking to the window that sat almost directly behind Polly.

Her eyes felt like they were studying my every movement.

Floyd smiled warmly, seemingly without any distress. "Hey don't worry about it, we are too." He casually gestures to the TV with video games scattered all over the coffee table, the couch and the floor. "Polly plays a mean game of mortal kombat."

The woman smiled bashfully before diverting the conversation. "Heh, Well, Quan Chi practically plays himself." She said with a shrug.

"No, Y/n, you have no idea how insane she is with the controller, okay?" Floyd praised with enthusiasm you'd only ever seen from when he watched professional gamer tournaments. "It's some of the most intense matches I've ever experienced! I was juggled like no tomorrow!"

Polly shrugged, tossing her long pony tail back over her shoulder sassily. "Well I hate to say it but, you just aren't good at blocking, Floyd."

Floyd sat back in his chair, tossing his arms up. "Aw, come on man! You're doin' me dirty here!"

Polly gave him a passive 'aww-poor-baby' look as she leaned forward on the table, making him mock the face back to her.

This was making you sick, as your wariness seemed to sit on the back burner, letting irritation take centre stage.

She turned her full attention to you, causing a tingle of ice to trace its way up your spine. "Who's your main?"

This felt heavier then she was letting on.

"I don't play." The curt lie and the cold manner seemed to take both Polly and I by surprise as her eyebrows raised.

"Oh! Er... Sorry... I just assumed..." She said sheepishly trailing off, rubbing her neck in slight embarrassment. "Y'know, because Floyd said it was your game."

Oop—

A feeling of warmth crept up your neck to the tips of your ears, making you feel thoroughly self-conscious. You didn't show it though as the indifferent expression stayed the same. "Weird."

Floyd frowned in confusion at you. "Uh—"

"I just haven't played it in a while, that's all." You said quickly cutting him off before he could say anything detrimental.

That seemed shut him up for long enough.

Polly ah'd in understanding. "Oh okay, gotcha..." After you didn't make an attempt to speak back, she avoided eye contact, tapping her palms on the table gently as her eye circled around to Floyd as if asking for help.

A tense air shrouded you while it felt like the other two were a bit uncomfortable.

Floyd attempted to swoop in and save the conversation. "Uh-!" His eyes went from Polly to you, a slight pleading look in his eyes. "Polly and I went to your Conspiracy Club meeting today to surprise you!"

Your eyes thinned ever so slightly. "Huh, really? Why?" Your eyes flicked to Polly a few times.

The woman graciously smiled, seemingly offering an olive branch. "Oh! Well Floyd said that he kinda wanted to go see what your meeting were all about." She peeked over at him from the corner of her eye. "But he was always too anxious to go by himself. So I went with him."

The way that Floyd sheepishly smiled made you feel like this maybe had some truth to it. Skeptically, you raised your eyebrow at him. "Floyd, you know you can come with me to the meetings, you don't need to tell everyone about it."

Floyd shrugged, scratching his chin. "I know, but I just felt weird asking."

You laughed shakily, not letting down your walls quite yet. "Floyd, you're my friend, you shouldn't feel weird asking me anything."

He smiled and looked down at his lap.

Polly's warm eyes rested on him kindly and put her right hand atop his left, rubbing her thumb over his knuckles back and forth. "See? I told you."

The blond man's face turned beet red as his usual goofy grin spread across his face before he looked at her then away with a breathy laugh.

Tension seemed to seep away as the genuine display of affection for Floyd put you more at ease. You sat back a bit more relaxed.

That was until you caught a glimpse over Polly's shoulder of Leo and Mikey peeking in through the window. You forced your eyes to Polly, slightly wider than usual as panic spiked.

Polly frowned and turned her body to look behind her curiously. The turtles had zipped out of her line of vision just in time, making your heart almost stop beating all together.

The woman peeked at your expression with a concerned frown. "Y/n? Are you okay?" She asked, her arm still resting on the back in her chair.

Your eyes flicked from the window, which was slightly ajar, to her eyes. "Yeah! I'm good, Polly, thanks." The finicky nature in your voice seemed to suggest otherwise as your eyes soon avoided the window area all together.

She seemed to consider you for a moment longer before looking back to the window. A long, excruciating second passed, ending with her letting out a small huff. As her face came into a view a subtle smirk that wasn't there before sent a chill up your spine.

Her eyes suddenly felt like a tonne of water pushing down on you like you were only a tin can.

"Y/n..." Her voice was silky sweet.

Floyd started to melt.

You began to freeze.

"If you're honest with me, I'll be honest with you." She said picking up her phone and typing in her code, flicking through it, then started to text somebody. Once she was done, her eyes gazed down on you, pinning you in place.

You tried to force out something to say, but the cold climbed throughout your body, tendrils of icy veins ran through you, slowly freezing you in place.

Floyd was ignorant to the shift in the air.

As your body gradually became solid, you inched your hand towards Floyd warily, ready to throw him out of the way as your eyes zeroed in on every movement she made. He glanced at your hand barely touching his sweatshirt, seeming to pull him from his trance. But at this point you weren't sure you could move anymore, totally paralyzed under the hunting nature of her endless pits of eyes.

She casually began to tie her hair up into a tight, effective bun, giving it no chance to fall out.

"I told you what we did today." She said gently, reaching into her purse to fish something out, not breaking her gaze away. "So I think it's only fair you tell us what you did."

Floyd seemed to break away from his rose-coloured glasses and take a fresh look at what was happening. A confused look began to form across his face as he pulled his hands closer to him, away from both you and Polly.

His confused, naive eyes seemed out of place here.

Polly stopped rummaging around in her bag, tilting her head with raised brows and half lidded eyes, as if waiting for an answer.

You couldn't overcome the lump in your throat as your eyes flicked between the window, Floyd and Polly. Panic attack coming in hot.

"Hmm, so weird." Her smirk grew a bit, but looked more and more obviously fake then before. "Don't worry, though Y/n. I think I have an idea of what you were up to."

Her smirk evaporated to a blank stare that didn't give you any idea what to expect.

It felt like the earth was standing still until she decided otherwise.

She shot to her feet, pointing what looked to be a gun from her purse straight at your head.

Floyd jumped back, stumbling back over his chair, letting out a surprised scream.

You weren't able to move, only stare down the barrel that bore down on you. It held a certain familiarity with Polly's void eyes.

The window smashed into millions of shards all over your floor. A furious anger now flaming in.

Leo

As the sound met your ears, Polly didn't flinch at all, like it was expected. She whirled around instantly. She was going to kill him.

At the absence of her stare, you immediately launched yourself at her, vaulting over the table and colliding your shoulder to waist, flinging her down with you and the table.

She cried out in surprise as you both tumbled down. She tried to struggle away, thrashing and bucking her shoulders, anything to get you off her back.

But you weren't about to let the bitch get her way.

The gun, still tight in her fingers raised back up towards Leo and turtles who were flowing in, jumping and dodging best the could to avoid the possible shot.

"Mikey! Get him outta here!" Leo commanded. Mikey wasted no time and darted towards Floyd who was dazed and petrified, pushed up against the back of the couch. The young turtle got on the other side of the couch and lifted Floyd up by his armpits like a toddler would with a cat and made a beeline for the window, running awkwardly.

Polly saw this and gave up on trying to get you off. Instead she aimed the gun at the fleeing pair, tracking them sloppily.

You grabbed a fistful of her tied up locks and yanked hard. This made her yelp and crash her sharp elbow into your side as you crawled to her upper back. L

Mikey took the distraction to his advantage and scooped Floyd up in both arms as he plunged out of the window, breaking off chunks of the frame to get to safety.

Raph and Leo seemed to be trying to figure out what to do while you and Polly wrestled for control. It took only a moment to figure out though, as Leo began to quickly make his around, flanking you both.

She held the gun just out of reach for long enough for your gumption to roll in. Frustrated, you started slamming your fist against the back of her ribs rapidly with all your might.

Polly tightened her grip on the gun and used her leg to roll you both over;

Once. You were off kilter and almost lost your grip on the scrawny woman, you both had a perfect shot to Leo.

Twice. You'd finally been flung off as she landed on her back, legs towards Leo.

Terror flushed a new wash of sobriety through your brain, it felt like every nerve in your body had all come together, all working overtime in synchronization. The most perfect effort you could culminate. You weren't going to let her kill Leo.

She whipped the gun towards him. He jumped out of the way, but the barrel tracked him seamlessly across the small kitchen counter.

It was now or never.

You promised to help them.

Your pushed your body up just enough for your legs to propel your body forward with your hands brushing off the ground in an effort to keep balance and speed.

Leo's eyes tracked your trajectory, upon realization he felt like he was too late already. "Y/n! Don't!—"

The shot fired like it had a silencer on it as you threw your body on Polly. Your momentum made both of you violently jar to the side, Polly's head smashed against the tossed over, heavy wooden chair of Floyd's with a loud crack.

She went completely still against your shaking body, which was almost unable to handle the amount of adrenaline coursing through you.

There was a sharp pain in your upper abdomen, rubbing against your rib. You hoped to god it was the bullet and not some surprise bullshit that would end up with you figuring out it didn't actually hit you.

"Y/n!" Leo bolted towards you, shoving the round table out of his way. Raph hurried towards you in suite.

"Hah— hah hu—" You shakily tried to move away from the unconscious woman you were clinging to. You didn't want to see what you'd just done to yourself, the thought of seeing all your blood pour out uncontrollably scared you.

Leo slid towards you, his hands hovered around your shaking body. "Y/n why did you do that? What were you thinking?!" He said, fear slicing through him as he stared down at you with shocked, wide eyes.

"I.. I don't know." Your muddled brain couldn't seem to think at all while you attempted to separate yourself from Polly.

Leo's high wire attitude made him just tear Polly away and toss her limp body aside. He moved closer to you and started to inspect you.

You looked down at your body. To your surprise you weren't bleeding, and the pain you were in probably wasn't as intense as a bullet should be. It was more like a deep wasp bite than a piercing burning sensation.

That's when you spotted a black dart poking straight up out of your ribs. "Uh... Leo?" You touched the dart lightly, making you wince. It was deep.

He grabbed your hand and pulled it away from the dart poking straight up out of you.

"Oh shit." Raph chimed, squatting across from Leo.

Your eyes were wide and you peered up at Leo worriedly. "What— what the fuck is in that?!"

"Don't worry Y/n, you'll be okay." He said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze before turning to look at it again.

"We should take it out." Raph said, looking from the dart to Leo, before reaching for the dart, unsure.

"No! We can't!" Leo said grabbing Raph's wrist before he could reach the dart. "We don't know how deep it is! Couldn't that make you start to bleed internally or something?"

"You're thinking of blades Leo!" Raph said hurriedly, shooting both his hands in the direction of Leo's katanas. "We have to take it out! Or else whatever is in that dart will get injected into her."

"You don't know how big the needle is! it could be barbed for all we know! And whatever is in that dart is probably in her blood by now anyway!" Leo countered, making both of the turtles look down at you, trying to regain your breath. "If we take it out it could do something worse! Especially if it was meant for one of us!"

A groan of mild discomfort left your chest as you tried to sit up. Raph pushed you back down by your shoulders before looking to Leo. "We need Donnie." He said lowly before they both looked down at you.

Leo gave a firm nod and Raph pulled out his phone, speed dialling #1 contact.

You whined again, the tenderness of the area pierced by the needle started to set in. "You guys, it's really starting to sting." You groaned still attempting to regulate your breath and attempted to sit up again.

Leo stopped you and made you lay back down. "We gotta get her back to the lab."

Raph gave him a wary look. "Are you sure she should be moved in this condition?"

"What choice do we have? Donnie can only do so much here. We don't know what was injected so we can't take the chance." Leo said, his grip on your shoulder became a bit more firm.

"Do you think it'll get worse?" Raph asked as the phone in his hand kept ringing.

Oh for fuck sakes.

Tired of the back and forth between brothers and pain blooming from the subsiding shock, you grabbed ahold of the dart buried between the last two ribs tightly. With no warning to you or the others, you yanked that shit out.

The two turtles stopped their worried bickering and stared down at you with the dart in your hand with a needle length of at least 1.5 inches.

You sat up, this time with no objections.

"Hello? Raph, what do you need? Hello??" Donnie's far off sounding voice asked, thoroughly confused.

"Uh... how do you feel?" Raph asked.

"I feel fine honestly. Just a bit sore." You said absentmindedly touching the rapidly forming bruise. "Whatever was in this doesn't seem to be doing anything."

Leo carefully took the dart and popped the back end of it open with his blade. Taking the injecting pump out was then revealed to be coated in the remanence of a familiar purple hue you'd come to associate with bad luck. But ultimately harmless to DNA without mutagen woven into it.

Leo's eyes were suddenly wide, staring at the dart then to you as you were holding your sore area.

Raph let out a relived breath, letting his head hang forward for a moment before lifting again to answer his phone. "It's nothing Don."

"Hey wai-." Raph promptly hung up on Donatello, putting his phone away.

Leo's relief pooled in his eyes as a shaky smile spread across his face. He pushed out a big breath, shoulders slumping as he sat back on his feet. He stared to let out a breathy laugh before placing a hand over his face. "Don't—" he chuckled again, with the tiniest waver in his voice. "Just don't do that again." He dropped his hand to show his relieved, smiling face.

The way he said it seemed to both break and swell your heart. You didn't know what to say, after all you weren't sure if you, and if the situation arose you knew you'd probably do the same thing again.

"Heh... Sorry Leo." You said, with a small, awkward side smile.

Raphael shakes his head. "You shouldn't be apologizing Y/n." He slapped your back rather aggressively making you jolt forward. "You're a damn hero! If Leo got hit with one of those he'd be under control by some evil doer like her." He said gesturing to Polly's still laying figure by the tipped table. "If anything we should be thanking you." He said, shifting his weight to his knee, ruffling your hair.

"Yo, Is it all good for me to come in?" Mikey's voice asked from outside the broken window. You looked over to see him poking his head in.

"Yeah, it's all good." Leo's voice was not as tense as a more relaxed feel entered the apartment in the baby blue eyed turtle's wake.

Mikey stepped inside, minding the shards of glass with wide eyes at the state of the apartment. "Wow, your place does not look good dudette."

You laughed looking around at the absolutely wrecked  interior. "Yeah, Janet is gonna have a field day. Definitely not getting our damage deposit back."

Mikey strolled up, hand on his hips. "So, what're we gonna do with the butler?" He asked teetering on his heels.

Leo put a hand to his chin in thought. "It's probably best to keep her contained. Confiscate everything she might use to contact Shredder, or anyone she's working with for that matter. She probably knows where the source of all this controlling goo stuff is." He said, peering over to her with an obvious look of disgust written across his face.

For a while the three reptiles simply stayed close to you, all making extra sure you were 100% okay until it started to get a bit weird.

"Okay, well," You slapped your knees, taking a moment to look throughout the brothers. "We should get outta here, she was texting someone so I don't know if Polly told someone to roll up or not."

Mikey peered over at Polly. The position of her face down, passed the fuck out body, seemed very reminiscent of your early university experience of Sunday mornings.

"Oh! Hey! Here's her phone!" He said cheerily as he walked towards her and scooped it up off the floor next to her.

As you attempted to stand up. Raph and Leo scooped their hands around each of your arms, lifting you to your feet with ease.

This only gave you three a moment to notice the slight, slow movement of the blond woman.

Leo spoke up quickly. "Mikey, get away from her. She's waking up—"

But she must've been awake for much longer than we thought. In less than an instant her dart gun was pointing to the back of Mikey's calf, with a dart sunk deep and accurate into his leg.

At the feeling, the young turtle flinched. "Ouch! What the—?" He immediately looked down at his leg at the same type of dart that sunk into your abdomen.

"Oh shit." You exclaimed in disbelief, wide eyed at the baby turtle.

When Mikey looked back up, he landed his eyes on Leo's who was staring, frozen. Mikey seemed to realize he was in deep trouble. He looked at his hands worriedly as they shook uncontrollably, dropping the phone.

Raph let go of you and ran towards his brother and Polly, fully ready to curb stomp this blond bitch.

"Raph stop!" Leo yelled firmly, stepping after him only a pace, arm outstretched.

Mikey reaches towards his older brother for only a moment before his tearing eyes lost all the worry, warmth and personality to them. His expression went blank and he stopped where he was, arms falling to his sides.

Polly was sitting up with a breathless, heaving body. The bun in her hair had let loose plenty of hairs, messily sticking all about. Her fear was clear but so was her determination to do what she needed to do. She was her holding her phone tightly between her trembling hands.

Raph came to a stop in front of his brothers husk. "Mikey?"

The youngest turtle was unresponsive.

You placed your hand to your mouth, muffling any sound that you knew would come out. Leo took another step towards his brothers, knees shaking.

After there was no response, Raph choked back his urge to cry as his eyes landed furiously on Polly, sitting only two paces behind Mikey.

"You're gonna PAY for this!!" He growled out and went to lunge at her.

She quickly and aggressively thrust her phone above her head in attempts to protect herself while she dragged her thumb across the screen.

Mikey's left arm shot out, stopping the raging brother in his tracks. Raph looked at the fist in front of him surprised, and trailed his hopeful gaze back to Mikey, who was staring straight ahead.

Polly seemed a bit relieved and took this opportunity to type a small combination into the phone. Mikey reacted immediately and swung his right foot back and around in a powerful round house kick.

It sent Raph flying back before tumbling right into your legs, almost knocking you over.

Both you and Leo looked from Raph to Mikey and Polly. Floyd's words about Polly's skills with a controller seemed to be brought back to you tenfold.

"Oh shit." Leo cursed with a snarl, pushing you behind him while grabbing a hold of a sword.

Polly stood to her feet, an air confidence floated about her now. "What're you planning to do now?" She questioned boldly. "Gonna kill this guy to get to me?" She asked, walking forward and leaning against Mikey's rock solid stance gesturing to him with a toss of her head. "Because I promise, you won't get to me unless he's dead."

Raph began to stand up, wild with fury.

"I think I'm okay with that, because then I'd be beaten fair and square. But I'm not too sure if you guys are down for a death match. Shucks." Her hand rested on her cheek as she stared at you all, pityingly.

"What the fuck are you doing Polly?!" You yelled through an angry red haze. "Why-?!

She rolled her eyes, cutting you off. "Oh give me a break." She raised her hands and started to whine. "Ehh! Polly! Why are you doing this to me?! I'm so betrayed!" She mocked before placing both her hands on the phone again. "Don't be naive Y/n, this isn't about you. You stumbled into something you weren't supposed to. Only thing is you chose to stick around. You don't like where this went? Well that's on you." She stepped back. Her words left a bitter taste in your mouth.

"That's not what I was gonna say you asshole!!" You shouted, fists in tight balls of violence itching to be unleashed upon her.

Mikey whipped out his nun chucks, looking to be ready to fight anybody off. Polly was obviously done talking. Raph and Leo looked at each other, exchanging a glance before both rushing Mikey.

The orange clad turtle looked as if he were ready to hit them both on the head, however at the last moment he grabbed Polly in a protective hug and rolled underneath their swings.

Polly was dropped off on the ground between them, making them both stare down at her. Michelangelo bounced back from his roll in a high hand spring then split kicked both brothers in their faces, mid arch, before landing with one leg on either side of Polly's body.

They both stumbled back, but Raph went back in before Leo, throwing off their timing in attacking together.

Mikey dodged Raph's angry punch, letting his fist slide past his face by an inch before grabbing hold of his arm. Raphael's eyes widened in surprise but he kept his wits about him, making sure to keep balance as Mikey used the momentum from the attack and yanked Raph to run straight past him.

What Raph didn't expect was for Polly to trip him while he slid past, making him land face first in front of Leo, who had instinctively drawn his swords.

Leo leaped last minute overtop both his brothers. Leos legs splayed in a controlled way, giving more momentum to his jump until he landed right across from where he was. Without wasting a second he lifted his leg high up and slammed his heel down on Mikey's head, landing the same amount of force he used to effectively disorient a rhino man.

However, despite Mikey's body crunching down to a knee, he didn't even seemed phased as he got back up. Leo's eyes widened at this. If this was used in another scenario, the opponent would be reeling back in some way for thirty seconds, at least.

It dawned on both you and Leo that as long as Mikey's heart was pumping, he wouldn't stop fighting. Not for any amount of pain he was put through.

The only way was to get to Polly.

Polly was still hiding underneath Michelangelo's body. Seemingly controlling him with ease as her fingers flew about the screen rapidly. Knocking Raph back with a firm jab of the fist grasping nunchucks in them, followed by a swift, strong kick to the plastron.

While Mikey was distracted with Raph, Leo went in with a sweep to either kick out his legs, hit the phone out of Polly's hands or just straight up kick her in the head.

However, Mikey swung his nunchuck against Leo's shin, knocking out all the strength and speed his leg had before swinging the chuck around again, smashing it down on his leg again within the second. A hollow clunk of bone sounded.

Raph, however, followed Leo's action while Mikey was busy with beating his brothers leg. He swept his foot under his remote controlled brother, making him topple down on top of Polly, crushing her hands and phone beneath his body.

She struggled under Mikey's limp body, not being able to move an inch or send any commands to the vessel.

Raph and Leo looked at each other before they ran forward, lunging at the coughing and dazed woman.

"Get the phone!" Leo ordered as he lifted Mikey up in time for Raph to grab hold of the phone. Polly was still tightly clinging to it as Raph pulled and yanked, making her press random buttons desperately as Mikey flung and punched in uncoordinated fits.

In the commotion you didn't quite know what you should be doing as you stepped back and forth with a sense of urgency quickly rising. Not being able to channel it into anything made exploding seem not so far away.

As your eyes flickered across everything in the apartment that may help in some way, they only then noticed the copious amount of black figures congregating on the roof the neighbouring building.

In fact now that you started to focus on something, your brain stopped jumping all over the fucking place long enough to hear thumping atop your building. Many more footfalls then your upstairs neighbors were capable of making.

"Guys..?" Your attention stayed glued to the bustling ninja looking figures. A cold, heavy feeling nestled at the bottom of your stomach as your nostrils flared, suddenly feeling as clear as your dream skin. "You don't happen to be friends with an entire army of ninjas do you?"

"Quite the opposite actually." Leo replied, struggling to hold his mind controlled brother off the ground, only managing to spare a glance your way. Polly was now oddly relaxed for someone who's arms were clamped between Raph's thighs.

You grabbed the floor lamp next to the couch in hope of it being a good enough weapon. "Okay, well, there is one of those right outside." You croaked out gripping the lamps neck so hard your knuckles where turning white already.

There wasn't much time to react before the ninjas started to pour in like masses of baby spiders from a web sac.

They flooded in mercilessly, but thankfully didn't seem too interested in you. Nonetheless you swung that lamp like nobody's business, whacking it against all heads, stomachs and limbs that swarmed around you.

"Raph! We need to go!" Leo cried, kicking Mikey off to the side as he drew his swords, slicing into the side of the first brave ninja that ran up to him. He planted his foot against their still beating chest and slid them off his blade.

There were already three ninjas on Raphs back while he continued to pry, however his grip loosened significantly thanks to the heaviness on his shell.

Polly managed to slip her arms out from Raphs wavering legs and immediately a ninja grabbed her a pulled her to a safe distance

Raph growled in frustration and grabbed all three on his back. Without a second thought he whipped them into the floor so hard that there was a chorus of cracks coming from both the ninjas and the floor.

"What about Mikey?!" He yelled back, sais now in hand.

Leo glanced around, taking in the odds while Mikey had come back under Polly's control, lifting himself up.

"We have to get out of here first!!" He cut down four more, continuing to speak. "There's nothing we can do for him now!"

Raph was about to resist the order, but upon getting socked in the face by another ninja he realized just how outnumbered they were. With a grunt he started running through the enemies, cracking skulls with the hilt of his sai.

Leo followed his brothers lead and started rampaging. He sheathed one sword as he ran at you, swiftly catching you by your stomach and ran towards the window right behind Raph. Both you and Leo were blindly swinging your weapons around on each side while Raphael ploughed through the masses.

At the last moment you swung the lamp into a few ninja, ditching it while Leo sheathed his sword back on his hip. He tucked your body close in front of him, holding your head safely to his plastron as he made the jump out the window.

For a moment it felt like you both were weightless.

He nicked a bit of the window pane, but you both made it out. His foot landed on the fire escape railing before he pushed off, leaping across the alley and landing against the wall his brother had already reached the top of.

Leo latched onto a pipe with the only hand he had available. He started to slip as he held you both awkwardly.

You tired to swing your body around to hold on his back, but he held you tighter, not letting you move as he peered ferociously over his shoulder then down to the five flight drop.

Seeing it as his only option he cursed lowly before letting go. The sudden weightless sensation coaxed a gasp for air from your deflated lungs as you seemed to float up from Leo's hold.

He grabbed onto the pipe again, slowing the decent by a little before landing quite suddenly against the cement ground that had no give.

Leo's legs buckled for a moment, but he didn't stay down for long. He scrambled back to his feet while scooping you up in both arms, desperately running out of the alley and down the busy sidewalk.

Screams from pedestrians seemed to emit within seconds of his appearance as he raced down the sidewalk, shoving and weaving his way through the people.

"Are they following?!" Leo asked, eyes trained on his path through the innocent and ignorant crowd.

You hurriedly looked back, scanning through roof line as best you could with his rough running bumping you around. There were ninjas running up behind you both on the roofs, gradually gaining on you, waiting for the best opportunity to strike.

"Uh.. Yeah!" You nodded, tears lifting up into your eyes without your knowledge until a few flew out behind Leo's speeding figure.

"Fuck!" Leo cursed, pushing himself to run faster and faster despite his leg getting beat by Mikey. His grip on you became tighter as he held you closer to himself.

Just as you looked back again he jumped up and kicked off a building, clearing overtop a couple of new moms. They were taking up the majority of the sidewalk with strollers, walking unbearably slowly.

You tried to think up a solution, but all you could possibly focus on right now was the literal army chasing you both down while Leo was running down the street in broad daylight just to get away.

You tucked your head to his chest, trying to clear your mind from the thoughts telling you there was no way you both would survive this on your own.

Leo was just one guy, and despite his insane skills, a tidal wave of ninja's seemed like a steep feat for even him. It didn't help you couldn't fight for shit either.

Looking back at the nimble figures giving chase made dread swallow you whole. You turned your flickering attention to Leo worriedly as you tried to think of any solution that would actually help this wonderful guy.

He seemed to glance down at you momentarily with an expression that was identical to the one you were looking at him with.

You smiled warily until you caught a glimpse of green zoomed into view from atop the roof as well, followed by a battle cry and a large puff of smoke at the forefront of the ninja tidal wave.

There, bursting from the smoke with mouths covered was Raph with Floyd in his arms who was yelling and hollering with way too much enthusiasm for any sane person. He whipped a few more smoke bombs back at the deadly crowd following you both.

A sudden surge of hope pulsed through you before fishing out an egg from a pouch on Leo's belt. You remembered where there were on him thanks to that one time he used these against you to kidnap you.

You held two more eggs carefully in your arm and gunned them up at the ninjas. Two hit close enough and made a bunch fall asleep almost instantaneously after running though the smoke, totally thoughtlessly.

Some dropped down right away, while others couldn't see through the opaque cloud and tumbled off the side of the building.

At this point the entire block of pedestrians had began to disperse. All of them scrambled to take cover from whatever the fuck they were seeing. Most ran into shops and stared out the display window, others ran into alleys behind dumpsters, and some just flattened their petrified bodies to the walls of buildings, shutting their eyes as tight as possible or staring straight ahead while waiting for it all to be over.

The chaos was just what you all needed.

Raph jumped down between alley walls with Floyd in one arm, reaching the ground he tossed Floyd into both arms and went hell for leather, pulling up next to Leo and you.

"We gotta lose these guys!" Raph yelled over all the havoc, swirling perpetually around both turtles.

"Tell me something I don't know!" Leo bit back and swerving around a mailbox, it forced him out on the street. Cars swerved out of the way, some even drove onto the sidewalk making a pile up.

This however gave a clear shot to a man hole. This also made you wonder if that would be too obvious of a place, that may even lead them to start searching the sewers.

"Leo, you shouldn't go down there until they lose sight of us!" You warned, peeking over his shoulder at the now farther away hoard.

He grunted annoyed but complied as he ran passed the manhole. Raph followed Leo out to the middle of the street, Running over top a few crashed cars.

Floyd was still firing those sleepy smoke bombs at them.

"They gotta lose sight of us!" Leo reported, sidestepping a car that seemed pretty invested on hitting him.

Police sirens then came into earshot, screeching in loud protest of all crime. Raph and Leo shared a look before splitting away from each other to opposite sidewalks, slowing to a walk. Leo put you on your shaky legs, before crouching low behind a vacated hotdog stand. "Act casual and walk." He ordered.

Luckily you all got out of the road right as the police cruisers skid around the corner and tore down the street. They were soon followed by a thundering sound of a chopper not far away.

They didn't even seem to notice that you and Floyd were the only not running people on the street as they sped past, screeching to a halt and pointing their guns at the ninjas on the roof and they all started yelling up at the clan. More cruisers sped to the back alley on the other side of the building.

The chopper flew above, a few large automatic guns pointed accurately down on them all along with a spot light to keep track of them from the sun setting.

This seemed to stop most of the ninjas from advancing. They all shifted around in place, very confused and unsure of what to do.

Tension rose and every little bit of you didn't want to leave Leo behind. However a big part of you knew that you were being watched. If you were to turn back or even so much a look in his direction now, it would blatantly point him out and easily put him in much more danger than he already was in.

As both you and Floyd rounded opposite corners out of the line of sight of the ninja, the stand off still held strong. Thankfully it lasted long enough for you to walk about a block down the road before it went to shit. You didn't know what was going on but there was too much gunfire for you to actually feel you were at a safe distance.

Still though, the thought of Leo being caught in the crossfire was enough to make your legs buckle.

All the people around in this street looked uneasy or were running like mad away from the action.

Nobody else noticed the small 'psst' echoing lightly from a shaded alleyway since they weren't looking for a sign from a mutant turtle. You looked about you before casually striding towards it with an unwavering pace.

It didn't take you long to come upon an out of breath, sword wielding turtle resting his side against a heavily graffitied wall. Tucked safely behind a big green dumpster.

Elated to see him in one piece, you broke out into an emotional smile a jogged a few paces towards him, running straight into his chest and wrapping your arms tightly around his neck. The complete and utter relief that washed over you was astounding.

This didn't help his winded state but he eagerly returned the affection, pulling you into him as close as possible in a firm hug. He gently nuzzled his head into the side of yours a few times then buried his face into the crook of your neck.

You held onto each other like a life line, both comforting the other into a much more regulated heartbeat.

"I'm so, so sorry, Leo." You murmured with a now scratchy, quiet voice, petting the back of his neck with shaking hands. Only now could it sink in what Polly had taken.

He started to shake lightly against you while his head hooked closer to your neck.

Sight began to blur from the sinking feeling in your stomach finally dropping to your feet. "I'm here Leo. I'm here." You said, trying to keep an even voice.

He pulled away and stared down at you making your arms unfold from behind his head, falling to his plastron.

You did your best to smile up at him, blinking back your tears that fell for Leonardo's total anguish, Mikey's body being controlled, and losing your home, all in one day.

A genuine, grateful smile pulled across his face despite his teary eyes. His gentle nature radiated warmth to swirl all about you.

He dipped his head to yours, pressing his lips to yours quickly with his eyes shut tightly. All the warmth around suddenly poured into you making your eyes blink a few times in surprise, them shutting in contentment.

You looped your arms around the back of his neck, pulling him snug against you. The kiss was kind but desperate. The emotions swirling about made your legs feel less steady, like any gust of wind could sweep you down with ease. You mind spun as you tried to make sense of what was happening, clinging to Leo as he did to you.

He pulled back, eyes wide and blinking. He didn't seem to be able to believe what had just happened.

You smiled worriedly, huffing a gentle yet bitter laugh at his expression before quickly kissing the corner of his gaped lips.

This calmed his fretting mind momentarily, but his bewilderment was through the roof. The fact that you kissed back was a miracle.

"Y/n—" He paused, seeming to draw a blank.

You couldn't help to chuckle a little as you wiped your cheeks dry with your palm. "Don't worry Leo." Peering up to him through a few blinks you noticed just how many tear tracks were on his face. You gently brought your hands to either side of his face and wiped away the water with your thumbs. "We're going to beat them and we're getting Mikey back. Okay?"

Leo held your wrists and let out a heavy breath. He rested his head against yours. "Okay, Y/n."
