Sorrow

(Y/N) was driving down the road from Ohio, on her way to Arkansas to meet with Sam, Dean, and Cas. Her three closest friends, not sure if to count Crowley as a friend. A case had picked up there with what they guessed were witches.

She looked at the scenery, one the phone with Jody.

"I'm telling you Jody, this place is great at 5 am. Sunrise is just amazing."

"That's good (Y/N), I'm glad you're enjoying things." Jody responded, (Y/N) could hear her smile.

"Yeah, totally cool now that the apocalypse is over." She felt a twinge, many people lost someone in the apocalypse. Before even the full event (Y/N) lost her younger, adoptive brother Kevin Tran. (Y/N) was very close to him as his family had taken her in when she was little. (Y/N) grew up knowing the Trans her whole life, and extremely protective of her over achieving brother Kevin. When he was killed she barricaded herself in the bunker for 12 days.

(Y/N) shook the thought off, remaining positive he was in a better place.

"So, you're going to meet the boys in Arkansas I heard." Jody said.

"Yeah. I heard there are some great mountains. Little Rock sounds like a great place to stop, I'm just outside of Jesseville at the moment."

"Ah, close to Hot Springs. Great town."

"Definitely. Well I should get going, gotta find a rest stop somewhere."

"Alright, stay strong girl. I know you're still going through a lot."

"Thanks Jody." (Y/N) smiled.

"No problem, talk with you later." And with that the phone cut off.

She sat back and sighed, turning on the radio. (Y/N) instantly regretted it. Her car dashboard proudly displayed the song title, 'Walking on Sunshine'. Not even paying attention to traffic (Y/N) jerked her car to the left, right into the empty field. This song, was her song. Why did they have to play her song?! She was in a full breakdown, tears streaming down her cheeks, breath shallow, and shoulders shaking as the song continued.

"Ch-Charlie..." (Y/N) choked out. She and Charlie had been romantically involved since 2014. Hell, (Y/N) was planning to propose to her. But the day they found Charlie laying dead in the bath tub had been the day she herself had died. Charlie was everything to (Y/N), and (Y/N) was everything to Charlie. (Y/N) sat at the side of the road, crying her eyes out as Charlie's favorite song played. The song that she would often choose for her 'Montages'. Charlie had been the light in (Y/N)'s life, and there for her after Kevin. Now, she was alone. (Y/N) dried her tears and turned back onto the road, back towards Little Rock.

(Y/N) wanted to feel Charlie watching her, she wanted to feel her beautiful Celeste, but she knew it wasn't possible. Charlie was given a hunter's burial. (Y/N) knew that meant she would never return. Yet, as she drove to the busy city of Little Rock, she felt something watching over her.

Maybe it was just Cas, maybe it was Kevin. She prayed to god that it was Charlie, even if just for a moment. (Y/N) only wanted a chance today goodbye. A chance to tie the many loose ends.

There were so many she may as well be a frayed knot, stuck on the end of a boat that just kept pushing her into the waters of depression. She kept her head high, doing her best to stay happy for everyone.

There's no time for sorrow in a hunter's world.
