Thace's P.O.V-

I have been learning bit by bit about Star and (Y/n). I learned that (Y/n) likes to (y/h/n) when she is not doing paladin work. But the only things I know about Star is that she is protective, and that the galra empire love to see her struggle protecting herself in the gladiator, since she would always take (Y/n) place when it is their turn. She always is protective. Heck, I have major scratches just from me being near them!! Like how? How is she so strong? Did she work out?? What?????

But I also found a little about her back story..

Star lost her mother and her father when she was four, but then found out she had two older brothers, so she was no longer in need to be with her adopted family. She was glad since the father and mother only loved their actual daughters, but the daughters liked her as a sister.

(Y/n)'s backstory is still not clear to me in any way. But I will manage someday. I hope.

I was in my office reporting to my leader, Kolivan, knowing that no one needed my assistance in the galra empire.
"Have you learned about the galra's plans to take down voltron?" Kolivan asked, his face no where near curious. I nodded and stated: "I have gathered a handful of data about a super weapon that the galra are starting to build. But I also heard that they were going to use the prisoner named (Y/n) (Y/l/n) for the energy source." My look saddening a bit. I heard Kolivan sigh as his eyes close then open back to me, staring emotionlessly at me through the screen.
"From our other spies, they say that it is time for the two new prisoners to have their blood taken to see how powerful of foes they are. I want you to take their blood test,but send it to us." Kolivan said, showing the plan in front of me. I nodded and was about to shut off until Kolivan said:"And make sure to label who is who, since you did not last time." I just stared at Kolivan with a "Bruh why" face. Then he just hung up on me. Great. Time to get new scratches. I got up from my chair and walked to the cell.

Timeskip

I was now at the entrance of their cell, and carefully opened the cell, but only to find (Y/n) comforting a crying Star. I knew I came at a bad time, so I carefully tried to close the door until I heard:
"I a-already heard you open the door, Weirdo." Star said, wiping her tears with her metalic arm. I smacked my forehead and walked towards the two, and sat at least 11 feet away. Star still had red eyes and tear stains on her cheeks. I looked at her then at (Y/n).
"Are you going to state something or stare at us like a bi-" "Language Star!" "Shut your trap." I heard Star and (Y/n) say since I had been silent for more than usual.
"R-right sorry." I said and reached for two syringes and four test tubes labeled their names. Star just stared with a weird look while (Y/n) was straight out not liking the idea of syringes.
"Alright. I am gonna need to have a sample of both of your blood." I told them as Star just glared at me, upset.
"For what?" Star said, her ears tilting at the side of her head. (Y/n) was just getting uneasy.
"So they know about any special abilities you both have." I stated, only telling that it was not going to the galra empire, but to the blade of marmora.
"I-I'll go first." I heard (Y/n) say, still looking uneasy. I nodded, until Star went in front of them..
"Do not try anything." Star told me, her eyes poking holes into my soul. I nodded, sweat forming onto my forehead as she moved to the left side of (Y/n). I carefully rolled up (Y/n)'s sleeve and inserted the syringe slowly, but (Y/n) made a small yelp, equaling that Star gave me a death glare. I gulped and took a bit of their blood and put it in the first test tube with their name on it. Their blood color was an/a (b/c). It was fasinating. Then I realized it was Star's turn. I gulped again and more sweat formed onto my forehead. Star was still glaring at me.
I knew I was screwed. Star held out her arm, not wearing any shirt or prisoner clothes since she was all fluff. I inserted the syringe into her arm, earning her to bit her lip and squint her eyes. I took a bit of Star's blood as well and was surprised to see a normal blood color. I was stunned. Really stunned. I put the blood sample into the first test tube that said her name. I nodded saying:"thank you both." While Star just nodded, licking where a little bit of blood was dripping out. I got up and walked away.

Timeskip again

I was in my office with a sentry who wanted the blood samples of Star and (Y/n).Little did the sentry know, I put the real blood samples into my pocket secretly and gave two fake blood samples from two other prisoners that I took blood from to make sure the empire does not detect a thing. The sentry nodded and walked away. I then put the two real blood tests into a small metalic box and carefully sent it to Kolivan and the blade.

3 minutes after the Sentry left, I see Star, under my desk. I yelp and fall backward.
"What?! How did you-" I started, but was shushed by Star midway. I closed my mouth as she got up, making it realize it was some sort of hologram.
"I am not currently here here. I am still in my cell, but (Y/n) made it that only you can see holograms of us. Its sort of a little techy trick she learned while at Voltron." Star stated pointing at the weird thing on my arm. I did not realize it was there until now. I looked up at Star, then at the thing.
"Its also called a translator." Star said before disappearing. I just stood there. Confused.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V-

I looked at Star, then looked at her bruises and old wounds. If it weren't for Thace, Star would have been dead for sure. I can tell he is no threat by the way he acts towards me and Star. I honestly think its like Star before we got captured, or even met Voltron. She was careful around her new allies, then slowly warmed up to them. But now..She is acting as if this were the end of our lives, and she wants me to be the survivor of the two of us. I looked at Star, who was licking a wound she got from the galran known as Sendak. I disliked him. He was the one who captured us when we were on a mission. He then tortured Star, since she would protect me with no doubt. It was hard to watch her get tortured right in front of me. I was scared, hell more scared than before I became paladin. I looked at Star, and then finally realized she had accidentally made an old wound bleed once again!! I panicked, not knowing what to do. Should I get help?! Should I scream for someone to come?! I worried more and more until I heard Star chuckle. Why was she chuckling while she was bleeding, until I saw that Star had only made it bleed a little bit.
"This never happened." I told her, my face red with embarrassment. She chuckled more, licking the bloody wound. I crossed my arms and looked at the floor.

Timeskip

Thace's P.O.V-

After the weird incident that happened, I decided to get some lunch. I got up and started to walk towards the exit to my office to go and get some lunch for myself, Star and Y/n. I thought I could use the energy.

I was walking down the hall with two food trays. I stopped walking as soon as I saw their cell. I took a deep breath and just opened the slot and slid their food into their cell, not wanting to disturb them. I got up, looking defeated. I knew that Star hated me more than anything, so I saved myself the pain on being rejected once again and left.. without saying anything at all. I was about to open the door, until I heard a knock on the door. I turned around, opening the little slot that allows anyone to look through their cell.
"Come inside, Thace. Please." I heard (Y/n) say, looking through the slot hole. I looked at her, wanting to go inside and talk with them, but I knew that Star would not like to. So I shook my head and walked away.

Later

I was eating my lunch inside my office until I saw the hologram of Star appear by the desk. I igmored it amd kept eating.
"I am gonna say this fast so I don't have to see your face. Thank you for the food" I heard Star say. I looked up a bit from my food and just nodded, looking back at my tray. I could tell Star did not like being near me at all. I heard Star sigh before she said,"Why did you not want to come into the cell and talk my ears off with (Y/n)? You usually do during your breaks." I looked up at her, wiping my mouth on my wrist.
"You obviously do not trust me, so I decided to just leave you both alone to eat." I said, taking another bite of my food. She looked at me both annoyed, but sympathetic.
"As much as I do not like you, you have not brought harm towards me or them. And besides, (Y/n) wanted to show you something before she gets sent to the gladiator for her fight again."Star scoffed.I nearly choked on my food, looking at Star.
"Didn't you both already fight yesterday??!" I said, getting up and running towards the door.
"Yeah, but they love seeing them shake in fear in front of your beasts." Star said before she disappeared. I got to the keypad, and entered the passcode before I got to the hall and ran towards their cell. I bumped into a few galran and guards bit did not care. As soon as I got to their cell, I entered the passcode and opened the door. I saw (Y/n) making something as Star was licking some food off of her claws.
"Oh look. He came" Star said and turned to me. I saw (Y/n) happily get up and run to me, hugging me tightly. I was surprised of their strength, but hugged back, to not be rude. I saw Star make a little smile, bit as soon as she noticed me she stopped and went back to cleaning her claws. I just chuckled.
"What? What you laughing about eh?" Star said, as she lowered her hand. I shook my head, raising my arms above me as if I was surrenduring. I felt (Y/n) let me go from their hug, then I looked at them. Then they looked at me.
"So, Star said you wanted to show me something." I said, as Star rose up and stretched.
"Oh yes! I do actually!!" (Y/n) says as they run to grab something off of the floor. When they came back, there was a small box in their hands. I looked at the small box, curiosity getting a hold of me. I looked at (Y/n) and saw that they looked like a galran who just conqured their first planet. I smiled nervously and opened the box slowly, to make sure that I do not ket anything drop if there was too much stuff in the small box.

When I opened it, I saw a hologram that showed all of the constellations in this part of the galaxy. I felt a smile slowly grow on me as (Y/n) and Star looked up as well.
"They worked during half of their resting time to get this done for you since you first met and gave us the supplies and food we needed." Star said as she pat (Y/n) on their shoulder. I looked from the ceiling to them.
"Is what Star says true?" I asked them as they looked down to me. They nodded and smiled, saying:"I thought you would want this to remind you of the beauty of this galaxy." All I could do was smile at their answer to my question. I thanked them, got up, and then walked to the door and closed it. I just stood there, starting at the small box. Why do this for me? There were so many thoughts going through my head as I walked through the hallway to my headquarters. To be honest, I thought about the situation that they were going through. It was not right for them to be treated that way.

A couple minutes later

I was gazing at the hologram as I sat in my chair inside my office, taking a small break from all of my work and such. I then thought about what Star said. Was (Y/n) really going to another fight in the ring. That didn't make any sense. They had already gone in a fight yesterday with the last beast. I had to get to the bottom of this, so I put the box in a secret spot I had in my office and placed it in there and went to my superior officer to learn about the truth.

As I walked down the hall, I could not help but overhear some of the guards in the other room I passed by. So I leaned on a wall to stay out of anyone's sight as I easedropped. (Underlined words are the guards)
"So what do you think is going to happen to that one (y/s/n)?"
"Uncertain, but 5 GAC coins say that the creature gets ripped to peaces."
"10 GAC coins say that they are crushed before it even starts."
I could not help but feel rage bubble up inside of me. I wanted to bop them on the head for saying that and making a bet on it. I mean who does that?!! I just sneakily walked out of my hiding spot and went to my supervisor.

-after walking to the supervisor-

I had made it to the room where my supervisor was and entered the room.
"Sir. If I may have a bit of your time" i asked him, walking by his side.
"Permission granted Thace."
"I had remembered that the prisoner known as (Y/n), had already fought yesterday. What made lord Zarkon make them fight a second time?"
"He learned a bit about the prisoner's knowledge of the paladins. He wants to weaken the prisoner before questioning them. It might help get something out of them". My supervisor explained. I could not help but shake at the idea of (Y/n) being tortured for information. It was just awful. I nodded and walked away from him until he stopped me in my tracks.
"I had also learned that some guards told me you were conversationising with them. Were you planning their escape, Thace?" He looked at me dead in the eye. I sweated a bit, but shook my head.
"N-Never sir. I was trying to get information out of them, but they were difficult." I stated as I looked away. I could not help but get nervous for some reason. I was conversationizing with them, but not about their escape. My supervisor nodded and just let me walk away.
