SKYLER JOHANSSON’S POV

It was Monday again. I reluctantly got up,dreading to go and seeing her again. Maybe I can fake being sick.

“Sky,hurry up!” my mom yelled from the kitchen. She’s too smart for that. Why why why WHY did I have to do that? I didn’t want to go to school where I had three periods with her. Kill me. I quickly got ready for school and walked to the kitchen.

“Hey, mom.” I said.

“Good morning, pumpkin,” she said, laying my plate down in front of me. I love Mom’s food.

“Hey mom.” I said,sitting down. It’s as if she could read my mind. “What’s wrong,honey?” She asked.

“I..did something that upset my friend,  and I think she is really mad at me. I don’t want to go to school and face her.” I said. My mom understood what I did and nodded.

“Ay, Skyler. You’ll have to face her sooner or later.” She said. “You can’t always run from your problems.” I sighed and nodded in agreement.

“I’m going to make things straight with her.” I said,determined. I quickly finished my breakfast and hugged my mom before saying goodbye and running to the bus.

Jeez this is awkward. I was sitting next to Rose, it was third period and I have art with Rose.

“Ya like jazz?” I asked, hoping to make some sort of conversation.

“That’s a dead meme.” She responded,obviously not want to talk to me. I stayed silent and uncomfortably shifted in my chair.

“Rose I’m s-" She quickly planted a firm kiss on my lips, interrupting my sentence.

“I want to be your girlfriend.” I blurt when she pulled away. Oh wait did I say that out loud?

Her jaw dropped immediately. “I..um..I..” she struggled to speak.

“I-It’s fine. I didn’t mean to say that out lo-” she interrupted me with another kiss, then said, “Yes. I would love to be your girlfriend.”

YES, I MADE THINGS STRAIGHT WITH HER.. WELL NOT “STRAIGHT" I MADE THEM MORE GAY BUT Y’ALL READERS KNOW WHAT I MEAN, RIGHT? *WINK*

“Ooo I can’t wait to tell the others!” She said,giddy with excitement. The bell rang and we both got up,hand-in-hand, as we walked to the cafeteria together.  

I noticed our table only consisted of Alex,Donny,and Summer. Where are the other two lovebirds? We sat down next to each other.

“What is up with y’alls hands?” Summer pointed out at us holding hands. “Oh wait, is it the..paintball day thing?”

“Well, we decided to be more than friends.” I said.

“So you’re dating?” Summer said. “I’m so sorry for your loss.

“Oh whatever, Summer.” I said, brushing off her comment and talking to Skyler a majority of the time.

“So I wanted to ask y’all,” Summer started. I turned my attention on her.

“Yeah?” I said.

“If you guys wanted to do a repeat of  what we did at Eury’s house? Truth or Dare, except this time at my place and with Skyler too this time?” Summer asked. “My parents are away on a..thing and I managed to bribe the person who’s supposed to watch us into not being there and not telling anyone.”

“I wouldn’t mind.” Rose answered,I looked at Skyler.

“What about you, Sky?” I asked.

“I’m down.” She said.

“Fine, but you are not allowed to kiss my boyfriend again!” Alex exclaimed glaring at Summer and Donny.

“Oh, guys, we are going to go see Eury and Fern afterschool, maybe when we go, we can ask them if they want to?” Donny suggested. “Y’all can come with us if you want.”

“Sure. Someone needs to make sure you two don’t go off somewhere to makeout again,” Summer responded.

“Great, fair warning, Alex and Fern aren’t on..great terms right now." Donny warned.

“That bitch is a f-" Alex was interrupted by Summer.

“Hey! No cursing!” Summer whacked the back of his head.

“Since when do you care about profanity?” Alex asked.

“I don’t. Until someone's calling someone else a bitch or a dick or something like that. You can’t call someone that unless they deserve it.” Summer said. Alex glared at her, but didn’t say anything.

“Fine, I still don't understand why you insist on visiting them, it’s not like they’re dead or something.” Alex scoffed.

Donny rolled his eyes then said, “Because you dummy, when someone is injured or sick or anything that makes them not come to school, as a friend you need to go visit them to see if they’re okay.” Donny leaned in a bit closer to Alex and said in a low voice so only he could hear. Unfortunately, I was on his other side and I heard every word he said. “And also, I’m tired of the stupid doctor’s no exertion rule and wanna fuck you somewhere, I don’t even care where at this point.” I noticed him squeeze Alex’s thigh and he blushed. Why did I have to sit here?! I didn’t want to hear or see that! Summer and Rose seemed to also have seen what Donny did and they looked so done with the couple.

The bell rang and I got up, waiting for Rose. She eventually approached and we both talked,walking to class.

We all sat in Donny’s car,driving to Fern’s house. Alex looked really annoyed and looked ready to throw a tantrum.

“Come on, you baby!” Donny exclaimed to Alex, hitting him lightly on the knee.

“Uggghhhh..” He groaned. “I guess if you’re there, I can live.”

“Hurry up, you lovebirds!” Rose yelled from outside the car.

“You can’t talk about lovebirds when you and Sky are that couple!” Summer said with a tone of almost disgust. The boy eventually came out and we rang the doorbell.

We were greeted by Fern’s parents,who let us in and told us where the two were. Oh god, are they doing that? Alex hesitated to go up the stairs to the room,but Donny shoved him forward as “motivation” and “encouragement”. Summer bust open the door. We saw Fern holding down Eury,who was struggling to get out of her grip.

“This is for your health, stop trying to overwork yourself!” Fern exclaimed.

Summer immediately ran over and punched Fern right in the jaw. Fern fell off of Eury, then got back on holding her down as quickly as she could. “How dare you try to rape this poor child?! Can’t you see she’s upset?! People are such idiots! And people ask me why I prefer dogs to people!!” Summer said angrily.

“I’m not doing such a thing, Eury refuses to stay laying down on the bed and relaxing to recover.” Fern said.

“You dumbnut! You’re not supposed to force her to relax by shoving her down and keeping her there! You’re her girlfriend, right? So why don’t you just give her a hug and kiss and stay with her on the damn bed?! Honestly, you’re all such idiots!” Summer exclaimed, making herself comfortable by sitting down on a rollie chair.

“Jeez, you’re smothering her with pillows, there are like 8 there.” Alex said

“I actually agree with him for once.” Summer said. Fern finally let go of Eury, Eury sat up a little too quickly and held her hand against her head for a second. “Has she been to a hospital yet?”

“Yeah.” Fern answered. “At 2 or 3 A.M.”

“What’d the doctors say?” Donny asked.

“They told her to take off from school and refrain from too much physical activity. They also said to be careful when she sleeps because you aren’t supposed to sleep with a concussion.” Fern said.

“No shit Doc.” he muttered, as though the doctor was right in front of him. “Did they give her any meds or shots or anything?” Donny asked in a louder tone.

“Well, they gave her medicine prescription, but get this. It’s only allowed to be taken by people 18 and up." Fern said,looking annoyed.

“So you’re telling me these fuckers don’t even know how to do their job properly?” Donny asked with an undertone of anger. Everyone looked at him, shocked, since he never cursed.

“Well they took her in when she passed ou-”

“You mean they did what any decent human being would do. They waited until she passed out didn’t they?!” Donny exclaimed, sounding pissed.

“The doctor didn’t even know how to work the stupid equipment, he didn’t know when to stop on the blood test machine.” Fern said.

“Alright, I know a place we can take her. It might take some convincing though..” Donny said, thinking hard. “Help her to my car. We’re leaving. Now.”

“No, I refuse to go to another ER!” Eury exclaimed.

“It’s not an ER we’re going to,” Donny answered. Eury was going to object again, but Fern stopped her.  

“Where are we going then?” Eury questioned immediately.

“How about you shut up and let me try to figure out how I’m gonna make this work?!” Donny exclaimed. Wow, he is being really rude! What happened to him?! “I’m gonna be in so much trouble for this..” Donny muttered, smirking slightly.

“I refuse to go anywhere for this.” Eury said.

“Fern, could you carry her or something? After duct-taping her mouth?” Donny asked in a polite voice.

“I’m pretty sure kidnapping is one of the things you don’t do to someone with a concussion.” Summer said.

“Can we duct-tape her too? Actually someone give me the duct-tape, I’ll take care of all of them.” Donny said, fishing his keys out of his pocket. “I want her in my car in 2 minutes.” he said, walking out of the room.

“No, no. I refuse to do any of this.” Eury said,standing up.

“Well, that’s too bad. You..don’t want to get on his bad side. It’s scary. He’s..a different person.” Alex said, with a shudder.

“Pretty sure I’ve seen some pretty scary stuff in my past that’s way worse than him.” Eury said.

“Yeah, but this is the present, and right now, considering what I’ve just seen, that’s not his bad side, and I seriously don’t want to see it.” Summer said. “Fern, get your scaredy-cat girlfriend and let’s go get her some damn treatment.”

“Fern, I swear to god, don't touch me.” She said.

Fern looked torn until she made her decision and said softly, “I’m sorry.” She picked Eury up firefighter style and ran out of the room as fast as she could.

“Fern!” Eury exclaimed,struggling.

“I’m just gonna take a wild guess and say that he’s only gonna take you, Fern, and Eury, right?” Rose asked Alex.

He nodded and spoke, “Probably. He’s gonna have to take Fern along to keep Eury as calm as possible and he’ll definitely take me to keep himself calm.”

“Hey, you don’t think her parents will mind if I drive their car, do you?” Summer asked no one in particular.

“You don’t have a license..” Rose said.

“I have a permit!” Summer exclaimed.

“No one besides Donny has a license!” Rose exclaimed loudly.

“Uhh, actually I do.” Alex said. “Well..did…but technically I can still drive.”

“What do mean by did? Wait actually no! I don’t want to know. Are you sure your boyfriend can’t part with you for just the drive?” Summer asked. “Oh, and just saying right now,” she continued, saying to Rose and me, “If he’s driver, I call shotgun!” Fine then. That just means I get to sit in the backseat with Rose. Even better.

“I can ask..” Alex answered. He walked out and then came back a few moments later. “Welp, he said sure, but he can’t promise he won’t lash out.” He said.

“There’s no way that’s all he said! You look way too scared! Don’t tell me he said something about punishments?” Summer asked, smirking. What punishments??

“Shut up!” Alex exclaimed blushing. “Keep that up and I’ll drive you all to the city outside of this city and make you walk 87 miles back.”  

“Fuck you!” Summer retorted immediately.

Alex, Summer, Rose, and I went into Fern’s dad’s car after getting his permission and keys. I saw Fern still struggling to get Eury in. Dang Eury is...stubborn?

“Oh my god, it’s been like 15 minutes and she still isn’t in?” Donny asked,annoyed and shoved Fern away. “Just shove her in.” He shoved Eury into the car,making it look easy. Damn, he is being such an uncharacteristic dick. He immediately slammed the door and Fern got in the car from other side after glaring at him.

“Is he usually like this?” I heard Rose whisper to Alex.

“No..he’s had..a pretty bad couple of days..” Alex said, picking his words carefully. Rose nodded in understanding. I sat awkwardly in the backseat, next to Rose. Donny started driving before Alex even got in the car. “Son of a..” he muttered, struggling to catch up. “This dick..he knows I have to follow him..”

“Aww is that your punishment or is it gonna be something else? Something more..exciting?” Summer asked smirking. Alex glared at her but didn’t say anything back. I noticed Rose leaned against my shoulder, resting her head against it. I stiffened at the sudden act, but gradually started to relax.

“Poor Fern, Eury is probably going to be so mad at her after.” I said, “And poor Eury for having to deal with Donny.”

“He’s not a bad person!” Alex exclaimed.

“Not when he is in a good mood.” I responded, “He literally threatened to tape our mouths shut and even made the idea of kidnapping a concussed person!”

“Well, it’s reasonable if you think about!” Alex insisted.

“...My god, next he’s gonna murder someone and you’ll say it was justified and reasonable.” I mumbled.

“You’re not wrong. If he ever does kill someone, which will never happen, I’d help him dispose of the body.” Alex said back casually.

“You’re so whipped.” Summer said.

“Maybe I am.” Alex said, smirking. He pulled into the parking lot that Donny parked at. I gently woke Rose up,she groggily got out of the car. I stepped out,too, shutting the door.  Donny got out of his car and immediately went to the one we were just in. He opened the driver’s door and grabbed Alex’s shirt, pulling him out. He kissed him roughly then said in a low, dangerous voice, “I’m going crazy. How dare you leave me alone in that car having to listen to both of them screaming and cursing at me?! You’re gonna pay for that.”

I noticed Fern was still struggling with Eury. Oh my god.  

“Oh my God it’s not as hard as you make it look!!” Donny exclaimed angrily, walking to the car and dragging Eury out by her arm. She nearly fell face-down, but Fern caught her quickly. Jeez. He can be a dick. Noted. “It was that easy.” Donny said, letting go of her and walking back over to his boyfriend for a hug.

“She’s driving me nuts, I swear to god my threats almost became real.” He said, his head buried in the younger boy’s neck.

“Well, if they did and you got in trouble for it, I’ll defend you anyway I can, and I mean any way I can.” Alex said.

“I know you would. Buuuut, you’re still gonna pay for leaving me alone in there. I was seriously considering running into a tree or something just to get them to stop screaming.” Donny said. I noticed Fern looked desperate and was pleading for Eury’s forgiveness.

“That is exactly why I wish to remain single. You people get all gross and emotional and whipped when you get a boyfriend or a girlfriend.” Summer said.

I approached the arguing couple, hoping to help some way.

“Eury..please say something.” Fern pleaded.

“Something.” Eury said coldly. Fern looked hurt and tried to hug the girl, but she immediately moved away from her grasp.

“Eury...are you going to stop trusting me..?” Fern asked,softly.

Eury glared back at her. “How am I supposed to trust you after that?! I was begging to stay at home in the car!!”

“It was for a good reason!” Fern exclaimed. “Is this argument going to end our relationship?!” Fern looked on the verge of tears.

Eury ignored her and stood there, not even looking at Fern.

“Hey hurry it up back there! I didn’t drive here to drive you back!” Donny exclaimed angrily from up ahead.

“I never asked you to drive me here.” Eury said. “So if you want to get mad at me for driving here, then you better have better reason to because it was your decision to drive me here after I declined your offer many times.”

“It doesn’t matter what you said, you ungrateful little-” Donny stopped himself mid sentence and took a deep breath then continued, “because it’s for your own health and I will drag you in there if I have to. Now. Get. Moving.”

“Y’know what. Fine. Let’s just get this over with since you so graciously had to take me here.” Eury said,before turning around and walking towards the building, leaving behind her hurt girlfriend.

“You okay?” I asked Fern,putting my hand on her shoulder.

“Oh I’m perfectly fine! My girlfriend is just ignoring me and is probably gonna hate me forever and is probably wanting to break up with me and is never gonna trust me again! Why wouldn’t I be fine?!” Fern exclaimed angrily. She took a few deep breaths.  “I..I’m sorry. You didn’t deserve that. I’m just..frustrated and angry and UGGGHHH!!” she said, tugging at her hair.

“I’m sorry, that happened, I’m here for you.” I said. Fern nodded and we started running to catch up to the others.

Once we were inside the building, I saw high-tech equipment and people wearing medical uniforms everywhere. Donny took some deep breaths and walked over to the receptionist with a smile on his face. Wasn’t he just super angry?? He leaned on the counter and said, “Hey there!” The receptionist lady was getting flustered just by that. Wow. That’s actually kinda..sad..

“What is such a fine lady like yourself doing here?” Donny said, smirking.

She turned red. “Oh y’know..helping people…models...in particular. Are you here for a physical, I will gladly give you one.” Alex glared at the two and looked though he was ready to murder the poor receptionist.

“Haha, not today, but I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m here. My friend actually needs to get checked up. The only problem is I’m the one with the qualifications to be here, not her. Could you help me out with that?” Donny asked in a sweet, innocent voice as he pointed to Eury.

“Oh, is that your girlfriend?” the receptionist asked him.

“What? Oh God no. I don’t have a girlfriend.” he answered.

“Well..I could get a doctor to help her..” the receptionist said cautiously.

“Thank you so much! You’re such a lifesaver! I thought I would get into trouble with the manager but you’re such a great help!” Donny said, happily. “I’ll make sure to tell some of my friends that I model with about you, the amazing lady who saved two lives and is super cute.” He ran a finger on her jawline before walking away.

“Oh my God, I was about to barf.” Summer said.

“Dick.” Alex said immediately, gritting his teeth. “I was right here. Was that supposed to be payback?”

“Oh no, that was just the start. You just wait.” Donny said with a mischievous look in his eyes.

“You’re lucky you’re so damn hot and seductive.” Alex mumbled.

“Sorry, what? I didn’t catch that?” Donny asked even though it was obvious he’d heard it perfectly fine. I looked at Fern, who was sitting, her head looking down at the ground. Her body language showed she was distressed. I approached her.

“Hey..don’t worry..I’m sure she still loves you, just give it some time.” I said.

“Yeah right. She probably feels betrayed and she’ll hate me forever.” Fern said insecurely.

“She won’t hate you forever, she loves you.” I said.

“You don’t know that!” Fern exclaimed.

“She trusts you in so many ways.” I said. “She demonstrates it her own way.”

“Yeah and in every way right now she’s demonstrating how much she hates me!” Fern said angrily.

“Give it time.” I said and stood up, approaching Eury. She ignored me.

“Look, your girlfriend is convinced you’re breaking up and hate her. You need to settle your differences.” I said.

“I don’t care what she thinks right now and if you don’t mind I want to left alone so please. Go away.” Eury said. I nodded and joined the rest of the group.  

“Eury Porter.” The nurse read off a clipboard. Eury stood up straight and walked into the hospital area. Fern ran after her. Oh jeez..

We were sitting in the waiting room, 2 hours passed before Eury came out with Fern following behind.

“I hate this hospital.” Eury said. “They criticized me like.a model.”

“Really? That’s hilarious! What’d they say?” Donny asked curiously.

“They criticized my weight, facial appearance. A lot of stuff I don’t want to get into.” Eury said.

Donny suddenly burst out laughing. He wiped his tears as we all stared at him. “Oh god..I’m going crazy..That receptionist didn’t tell them you’re not a model. It feels nice to have someone else who’s not me criticized for once.” He said. “This is a private hospital. Models only. Those idiots must’ve just assumed you were a model. I have no idea why though. They’ve never seen you before and a model is so much better at hiding their emotions than what you were doing.”

“Yeah yeah I get it.” Eury said, walking past him and out of the hospital. Fern still looked hurt.

“I waited outside of the room because Eury told the doctor she wanted it to be private..” Fern mumbled.

“Well, I’ll just bribe the doctor to tell me what Eury talked about.” Donny said, shrugging. Fern nodded.

“It’s scary how you feel no remorse deceiving your friends, kinda sadistic in a way.” Rose said.

“Oh, I will feel guilty. Just not right now. Also, you do know what a sadist is right?” Donny asked. Rose shrugged and Donny continued, “Well, I’m definitely not a sadist. I don’t get turned on seeing other people in pain.”

“Guys, we should hurry up and leave.” I suggested. “I just got a weather alert saying a storm is heading our way.”

“Finally, thank god. Oh, and you are staying at my place tonight.” Donny said to Alex smugly.  

“I’m not complaining.” He said.

“I don’t know if Eury is staying at my house…” Fern mumbled.

“Where else can she even go?” Summer asked.

“Her parents gave her the opportunity to come back if she apologizes and makes a public apology.” Fern said. “She may go back..”

“Her parents are seriously fucked up then.” Summer said back without hesitation.

Fern shrugged. “Shouldn’t we go after her?” Rose suggested.

“Yeah what if she gets attacked or something?” Summer said.

“Ughhh I don’t want to be in a 10-mile radius of that person..” Donny whined hugging Alex.

“I’ll go see if she’s out there.” Fern said,exiting. She came back about 7 minutes later. “Soo..funny story.. I can’t find her.” Fern said, her body language showing how obviously nervous she was.

“She probably is already in the car or something.” Donny said.

“It’s locked, dumbass.” Summer said.

“Well, she’s probably lost in the woods then,” Donny said.

“What!?” Fern exclaimed. “Oh no, she could break her leg in a ditch or get attacked by an animal or something!”

“Does she not have her phone with her? She could use its flashlight.” Summer said.

“I...may have locked it in a desk at my house so she wouldn’t use it and relax.” Fern admitted.

“...you’re serious?” Summer asked. Fern nodded. “You are so stupid!!”

“I know I know..” She said. “We need to find her!”

“Ughh.. why can’t we just let her find her own way home,  I don’t want to be near her.” Donny said. “I just want to go home and be with himmm..”

“Suck it up and deal with it.” Summer said.

“Ughh..just have Fern do it.” Donny said.

“Males..” Summer muttered, pulling Donny by his hair and then shoving him out the exit.

“Ah!” We heard two people exclaim.

“Found her!” Donny exclaimed, pulling Eury into the hospital.

“Ow. Careful, that’s my injured arm.” Eury mumbled. She looked like shit.

“Eury!” Fern exclaimed, tightly hugging the girl. Eury quickly moved away from Fern’s grip and turned, facing away from her. That was harsh..

“Hmm, how did the doctors not know you weren’t a model?” Donny muttered looking Eury up and down.

“Narcissist.” Eury mumbled.

“He is not!” Alex exclaimed.

“You only say that because you’re dedicated to taking his side.” Eury said. “And Donny, I look horrible because I had..an encounter..in the woods.”

“Yes, but other times too, you look...yeah..” Donny said.

“I say that because it’s true.” Alex said at the same time.

“Well, I’m sorry I’m not up to your standards.” Eury said. “And maybe it is true, I don’t know, I don’t talk to him as much when it comes to opening up.”

“Oh my god...you’re not ugly, if you just took care of yourself, you’d look great.” he explained. He literally implied she's ugly.

“I don’t want to look great, you realize how many pervs will catcall if I looked “great.” I wouldn’t be able to defend myself properly.” Eury said.

“Well, that’s what your girlfriend’s for. She’s just not doing her unpaid job right.” Summer said.

She stayed silent, not caring enough to respond.

“Well, damn, that’s harsh. Aren’t you supposed to defend your girlfriend or something like that?” Summer said.

“So what encounter did you have in the woods?” I asked.

“Lemme guess!” Summer said excitedly. “You saw a naked 80 year old man and he gave you a hug and bugs and then he hobbled away to tackle a bear!” Everyone stared at her strangely and she shrugged.

“That’s...no..” Eury said. “This little girl asked me for help finding her mother, so I walked around with her till we found a dimly lit home, I knocked on the door and these two old people answered and thanked me for finding their granddaughter and asked me to come inside so they could give me something to reward me, I declined and tried to walk away and I feel a tight grip on my arm, I turned and the guy mumbled something before trying to pull me in. I struggled and got scratched a few times and bit once, but I ran back here, tripped a couple of times,but escaped.”

“You poor thing, where did they scratch you!?” Fern exclaimed.

“Yeah, next I have to go into the hospital again.” Eury said,coldly.

“Soo, you guys wanna come over to our place this weekend for Truth or Dare?” Summer asked. “This time though, no one can drink after their 7th shot. Once you take your 7th, you can’t refuse the Truths or Dares.”

“What about those lightweights?” Fern asked, pointing at Donny and Alex who glared at her. “They got drunk after one shot.”

“I’m pretty sure they’ll be too drunk to refuse anything.” Summer shrugged. We heard a crack of thunder. I looked at my radar app and noticed our area was about to be in radius of a tornado.

“Guys, we should hurry. There is a tornado heading our way.” I said, showing them the radar. “We can go to my house, we have a storm room.”

“Alright, I ain’t dying tonight!” Summer exclaimed.
