𝒙𝒍𝒗𝒊. "catch me if you can"

𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒏'𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘

THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS has always been a blur. Usually, it's a lazy day where I lay around the house or mess with the gifts I've received the day before. The entire day gives you the feeling of boredom. At least for me. With my Mother insisting on me staying home and helping her clean normally, I've never done anything fun on December 26th. I know that sounds ignorant, but all of my siblings agree with me amusingly.

That means, I've never hung out with a boy on December 26th.

That was until Louis asked to come over last night whenever we stayed up having our annual 1 AM conversation on IMessage. I was surprised with myself for staying up a few extra hours, Christmas day was long and fatiguing. But, with Louis' influence it wasn't a protest to do so.

I then had the idea for tonight to be the sleepover Louis asked me to host not too long ago. It's a Saturday night and I would rather spend time with Louis than help my Mom do the dishes or vacuum the living room.

Since Louis goes back home to South London in early January, I won't be able to see him for a while. Most likely a long while and it's saddening. After seeing a person for the past month, then suddenly they fly back to a whole other continent isn't the best feeling in the world. Mom understands it though and she's letting me get a free pass on cleaning for a few days. It's caused my brothers and sisters to become annoyed, but they'll get over it.

I dread the day he leaves for London, but I need to soak in these last few weeks with him as much as I can. But, he arrived a little after 4 this afternoon.

Truthfully, I have no idea what he has in store for this "sleepover." All I know is that I have nothing planned, other than watching movies or hanging out in the basement. We usually have things to do whenever he's over, like playing with Evie and River.

There was an eerie silence between us as I laid back onto my unmade bed. Hopefully Louis doesn't mind. My room was definitely tidied up, with my floors spotless and desk fully organized. All except my bed, of course. There wasn't a point it making it, as I was going to sleep in it in a couple of hours anyways.

The sheets of my white bed was messy with my pillows randomly placed on top of it and my blanket halfway tore off of it.

Louis laid across the scrunched sheets trying to get comfortable at the end of the bed. We haven't said much to each other once he arrived to my home. It wasn't a big deal to me, since the boy seemed tired.

He stared at my ceiling fan for forever it felt like. I wouldn't be surprised if he was getting dizzy at this point. I couldn't let the silence make the best of us, so I broke the awkwardness by plopping down onto my stomach.

Being a few inches away from him, it wasn't difficult for him to see me holding my chin in my hands.

His gaze at the ceiling broke and centered at me before he gave me a slight grin.

"I could fall asleep." Louis admitted, flicking me on the forehead annoyingly. I swiped his hand way, though I nodded in agreement soon after. He quickly sat up from his comfy spot on the bed.

I rubbed my slightly aching forehead, "That hurt, ya dick." Ignoring me, he raised his arms over his head as high as he could. The black sweater upon his chest rose up, giving me a sight of his lower stomach.

My eyes widening, I speedily moved my glance over at my dresser up against the wall. Before I scratched the back of my neck, my vision went dark from Louis throwing his black Carhart beanie at my face.

Snickering, I threw the beanie back at the boy who loved aggravating me obviously. He can't stand it whenever he's not. After he caught the hat, he adjusted his position, trying to get more comfortable.

Louis firmly squished his beanie onto my head, causing my sight to go black once again since the warm material covered my eyes. I quickly fixed it, giving me a peek of the teenage boy now standing on my bedroom floor.

"It's a thousand degrees in here and you're wearing a beanie and a sweater?" I questioned, twirling my body to now lay on my back. The ceiling fan that Louis was staring at a few moments ago didn't help the hot temperature at all.

He retorted, "You're wearing the beanie now, and that sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. I like being warm, okay?" I humorously scoffed. "It's really not, my dad likes this house to have the same heat of the depths of hell, obviously."

His knees against my white duvet cover, he began to poke me in the side. My body squirmed as it tried moving away from his index finger that poked me one last time. "Leave me alone, I don't deserve this."

"Don't tell me you're ticklish then." Louis responded as he hovered over my giggling body. The laughs that were exiting my mouth stopped. The only thing that held him up were his two arms that were placed on either side of my head.

Gulping, I couldn't help but become anxious. I mean, who wouldn't? The tricky quietness that divided us took every opportunity it could to make the situation even more problematic.

The two of us that were before playing around and laughing at each other was now staring into each other's eyes plainly. I could practically feel his chest breathing up and down rapidly, but I decided to not say a word. There wasn't any words I could think of in the moment anyways. It's like my brain went completely blank the entire time.

I'm guessing Louis didn't know what to say either. I was surprised his arm strength was strong enough to keep his body weight up for so long. He didn't adjust his arms once, nor his entire body.

Our strong staring was torn for a couple of seconds by him glancing down at the necklace around my neck, but he swiftly brought it back up again.

"Mom c- DEAR, GOD." An irritating River interrupted after he burst into my bedroom with sudden.

My bedroom door shot open faster than I could even think. It startled the both of us more than I would like to admit, especially because of the situation we were in, in that very moment. I mentally punched my younger brother, but I thanked him soon after since I didn't know how long the messy silence would've gone on for if it wasn't for him barging in.

Even though Louis and I weren't doing anything bad, all of our faces were bloodshot red for no apparent reasoning. River's especially, because of his 8 year old innocence.

Clearing his throat, he enlightened, "Mom cut a watermelon and made hot coco downstairs so if y'all want any, come down." Louis nodded at the boy standing in the doorway, getting his messily made brunette hair into my face. It tickled the tip of my nose.

"But, apparently y'all want something else obviously, so um, I'll be downstairs." The wooden door slammed closed, the noise being louder than he most likely hoped. The metal jacket and bag organizer hanging on the back of it raddled.

I shot my head back over to Louis who was still hovering over me.

Thankfully, he broke the roughly awkward moment by sweeping himself towards the left and his balance is now onto the floor. He scratched the back of his neck and I quickly sat up, adjusting my hoodie and undershirt.

Louis, who's now standing in the doorway waiting for me, opened the door a few more inches so I could be let out with him. I modified the black beanie that was messily placed onto the top of my head so it wouldn't look as tangled.

"That's a weird combination." I spoke suddenly, trying to break whatever discomfort that is still roaming in the air. Raising his eyebrow, Partridge waited for me to add more context. "Hm?"

I snickered, "Watermelon and hot chocolate?" A lightbulb turned on in his brain and his mouth formed into an o. "Well, I personally love watermelon, so I'm excited, Ryan."

Grinning, the two of us made our way into the dark hallway. Each door was closed, which is odd, since Evie's room is almost always open so Mom can keep an eye on her. But, I wasn't going to question it, it most likely wasn't a big deal anyways.

Going downstairs was just as normal as usual. The sound of our shoes tapping against the hardwood steps, our hands brushing the railing, and me almost falling due to it being slippery. Other than Evelin sitting on the main floor, gracefully petting Casper. A blue Tinkerbell themed robe was wrapped around her tiny body, oddly enough.

"He's gonna end up scratching you if you don't leave him alone, Evie."

Louis and I finally hit the second floor. We stood in front of the 3 year old who had our new addition to our family in her lap. Since yesterday, he's already shown us some of his main traits. Like being an fluffy lap-monster, extremely affectionate and lovable. I haven't had the time to spend much time with Casper however, since my younger sister keeps hogging him and I don't feel like starting an unnecessary fight.

"He loves me, RyRy." She avowed, belly-rubbing the cocoa brown feline. Soft purrs left the pet's mouth. Louis chuckled and we continued our path into the kitchen, where Mom and River were doing their own things.

River sat at the wooden kitchen table, playing with the whimsical science kit he received the day before from our parents. It was scattered across the entire surface, which explains why the cut up watermelon was on the island. He seemed thrilled to be playing with the miniature beakers, safety glasses, and a mixture of powers in front of him.

Taking a seat on the stools at the bar, both of us greeted my Mother who was cleaning the marble countertops with a spray-bottle filled with cleaner. Red and juicy slices of watermelon was placed onto a place in front of us, it didn't take us long to grab ourselves one.

Mom gushed excitedly, "Did you have a good Christmas, Louis?" The chaotically-made bun tangled on the top of her head made me snicker mentally, but I continued to bite into my portion of fruit. "Yes, Mrs. Darr. Also, my Mum really enjoyed your Christmas party."

Seeing the way Louis talks to my parents is amusing to me. Since it's completely different than how he speaks to me or his friends. He's overly polite and loving, while when him and I are alone, he's flicking me in the forehead and annoying me on purposely constantly.

"I'm glad she did! I loved having her and your sister here." My Mother winked, placing a kitchen knife into the large farm sink. If only she was this nice to me or her other children. She leaned against the counter in front of us and her arms held up her weight.

"River informed me that he walked in on you two."

I groaned dramatically and set my watermelon slice on a white paper plate in front of me. "We weren't doing anything! We were practically wrestling."

She raised her eyebrows and nodded, averting her eyes behind us to River who had his hands up. "I was confused, okay!" He cautioned, tightening the white scientist's coat around his body. I have no idea what's up with my younger siblings and large coats today, but it's humorous.

"Well, what are you two up to this afternoon?" Mother questioned as she continued to clean up the watermelon-cutting mess. Shrugging, Louis turned his head over towards his left, which was at me. I had no idea either. "Uh, I don't know."

The woman in front of us took a minute to think, "Hm, you could go outside? Get some fresh air? Ya know, do normal kid stuff?"

I playfully rolled my eyes, causing her to laugh at me. After a few seconds, she pointed towards the beanie that Louis placed on my head. I widened my eyes lightly. But, she didn't say a word about it. She rather turned around and trotted towards the fridge.

"I wanna go outside with you guys if you do end up going." River asserted. The clear safety glasses sat at the tip of his nose as he poured a blue liquid into a beaker. He speedily raised the glasses back up to his regular eyesight with his arm.

And out of nowhere, Evelin ran into the kitchen with Casper on her tail. The robe that was before securely wrapped around her was now open, which showed her pajamas that she was still dressed in from this morning. I'm guessing our Mom didn't feel the need to change her clothing, I wouldn't either honestly. "I want to too!"

Mom peeked her head over to Evelin as she held the fridge door open. Raising an eyebrow, she tapped her foot at the toddler.

"If you go, you need some new clothes on, missy." The blonde crossed her arms across her chest and sighed radically. "I'll be fine, Mama."

"Fine, but if you get too cold, don't come crying to me, Evelin." She corrected as she closed the fridge.

I mean, we have nothing better to do. Even though outside doesn't have a variety of things to do either. Other than playing soccer or with a baseball. Or maybe even playing with my grandparent's dogs. I didn't know what Louis wanted to do, but he seemed excited to hang out with River and Evelin.

Standing up, I pushed the stool back into it's regular spot at the island. Louis did the same before he chucked his empty watermelon slice into the metal garbage can. He ran his right hand through his hair, but it still looked amazingly done whenever it rested back to it's normal shape. It's the opposite of what mine does, especially when it is in it's natural form. Not curly, but not straight either.

Today I decided to straighten it though. Since curling it was too much work and I'm going to wash it later tonight anyways. It rested upon my chest and the top of it is covered by Louis' beanie, which helped a lot. I need to wear hats more often honestly, I don't look too terrible in them.

All 4 of us headed outside after Evie and River got their actual coats and shoes on. Surprisingly, it wasn't as chilly outside as it's been recently. But, since the sunset is only an hour away, the breeze will most likely start coming in rapidly.

And of course, Evelin made Louis carry her. It's cute though, I love the upcoming bond the two of them are beginning to share. Props to Louis for doing basically anything the small girl wants, I would've pulled my hair out by now.

"What did Santa bring you yesterday, Evie?" Louis asked her as he clasped his hands around her back. Her small hands fiddled with the silver chain he wore, completely mesmerized. "He brought me new Barbies and new kitchen stuff."

We listened to my younger sister go on and on about the gifts she received for Christmas. He listened to every single detail, nodding to the questions and smirking the entire time. She continued to play with his necklace, but she didn't mess it up thankfully.

River stood on my left side and the other 2 were on my right. All of us walked down the gravel pathway that went on for miles it seemed like. We trotted past our grandparent's house and soon we passed the Concession stand that hasn't been opened in almost 2 months. The season of autumn is over and Darr Family Farms doesn't open until another big event that I have no clue of at the moment. Maybe a summer event? I don't know.

I watched Louis kick a medium sized grey rock that was randomly placed onto the ground into the grass. Evie still in his arms, they talked about random childish things. Like Casper, Louis' cat Charlie, and toys still. It was heartwarming to me honestly. Louis being 17 and Evie being 14 years younger than him, you would think they wouldn't get along well. It's actually the complete opposite.

River commented, "You guys are boring." I felt him nudge my arm with his shoulder. I looked over at him and the soon-setting sun gazed into his green eyes, making them stand out even deeper. The giant blazing beams in the blue sky gave off yellow and orange colors. I hoped the sunset would come soon.

"You love us, you know you do." I poked, nudging him with my arm as well. He stood a little over my elbow, which made it easy to push him around kindly. Other than the times his anger issues burst out and he attacks me for no unknown reason.

"Sure, I love you, but I could be finding out a huge scientific discovery right now." He explained, pushing me. I was knocked into Louis lightly and I grabbed River by the top of his coat. "You and your anger issues need to chill out before I knock you out."

He groaned, "I don't have anger issues! You just mess with me too much!" I smirked and fluffed the boy's hair with my hand, his mouth grumbled.

"I wanna play soccer, where is the ball at?" River asked me, trying to change the subject. I glanced over towards our right to see a patch of grass that wasn't filled with our Grandpa or Dad's stuff. Once I spotted the black and white soccer ball, I pointed towards it. Evie jumped from Louis' arms and started darting towards it.

Louis and I groggily followed behind my 2 very energetic siblings. Shoulder to shoulder, we walked through the grass and were a few feet away from River, he ended up kicking the soccer ball towards Louis.

I knew Louis had played soccer before, but I've never seen him actually play. Sports aren't really my cup of tea, especially since they target around physical activity and my lazy ass personally hates running around. Unless I'm running towards something actually good. River has played soccer as well and Sawyer is on our school's lacrosse team. Margot has played a sport too, but just like me, she didn't end up enjoying it.

I walked around the grass with Evelin, picking up random rocks and weeds that grew in the ground. It's fascinating on how distracted and amazed toddlers can be by the most simple things. She could play with a random stick in the yard for hours if we let her.

Louis kicked the ball to Evie, which caused her to giggle happily since it almost knocked her down. With all of the strength she had in her tiny body, she tried kicking the ball back to him. It didn't go far, of course, but Louis grinned anyways. "Good job."

After about 20 minutes of playing soccer, River and Louis were getting slightly tired. Us 2 girls just sat in the grass, watching them scurry around and have fun. Evelin continued to mess with the random nature bits. I yawned, not because of the soccer game in front of us, but because I've been tired all day anyways.

"Will you do something for me?" Louis recommend, running over towards me. I stood up and nodded without question, even though I didn't know what the favor was. He slipped his phone out of his back pocket and handed it to me. "Will you take a picture of me?"

I smirked and nodded once again, gripping his IPhone in my hands. We walked over towards an area in front of the dead trees. An odd background, but I wasn't going to question it. I put in Louis' passcode so I could get to the camera app. We gave our lock codes to each other earlier on in the week as a joke, since he wanted to "hack" my camera. And now, I have about 100 random photos of him in my camera roll just resting there.

Holding his phone up, I waited for him to do whatever pose he had planned. His awkward self just stood there, causing me to laugh uncontrollably.

"Here, put the beanie on." I insisted, slipping the black beanie off of my head and handing it to him. My hair was most likely sticking up and all over the place, but it's fine, I'll fix it soon. "Why?"

I joked, "It's a good...prop?" Louis sniggered and shrugged at me before slipping the Carhart hat onto his head.

"I can't tell if you're completely high or if you're tired, Louis."

His red eyes cracked me up, I couldn't take the boy in front of me seriously. But, I snapped about 10 photos of him anyways. I hoped he liked at least 2 of them. To me, he looked rather adorable in his outfit he picked out today. But, I knew he's picky with the photos he posts on Instagram or other platforms.

Louis argued, "Stop laughing at me, these pictures better turn out good!" I carried on with my giggles and apologized multiple times under my breath. "It's hard not to! But, you look great so you don't need to worry."

Raising an eyebrow, he began to smirk once again.

"Shut up, let me compliment you without you saying something about it!"

I took a few more photos and ended up handing him his phone back. Both of us stood beside each other, examining the pictures. We decided on which ones we liked and which ones we didn't. Even though I personally liked all of them.

Louis added, "Thank you, Ryan."

An hour, almost 2, went by quicker than ever. The sun has fully set, the gleaming stars have arrived, and my energy is still lowering as the seconds go by. About 30 minutes ago, River and Evelin decided to go visit Grandma. Which left Louis and I alone outside, without a clue of what to do next.

We thought about going to Grandma's too, since her house smelt of sugar cookies and cinnamon. It's a smell I've craved for days upon days. My stomach growls just thinking about it. Another idea came to our minds of just going back home and helping my Mom start dinner. But, either one didn't feel right for tonight. Outside is way more quiet and wasn't filled with my irritating yet loving siblings.

Even though it wasn't the best, we decided to playfully swing on the playset outside my Grandparent's home. It's been there before I was even born, I'm surprised it's still up and not torn down by now. It had 3 swings built into it, a rock climbing wall type of thing that lead up to a small clubhouse, and of course, a slide. The slide has definitely given me trouble in earlier years. Since I've fallen off of it more times than I'd like to admit. But, this raggedly playset has given some of the best memories I've ever lived through.

"Whoever swings the highest gets a prize." Louis informed as he started to pick up pace to his peaceful swinging. His child-like self made me grin and I began to question what the so-called prize was, but I continued to swing as well. "You got a head start, that's not fair!"

My tiny complaint made him snicker at me, but I could barely hear it due to the breeze flowing into my ears.

I swung so high I thought I was going to take off and start flying. My hands gripped the swing's handles so tightly, it honestly began to hurt my palms. The darkness in the sky was so close to colliding into Louis' and I's swinging bodies.

"I think I'm definitely winning." I teased, earning a sarcastic scoff from him. He began to make excuses to why he wasn't swinging as high as me, which made my insides smile. But, we both argued innocently.

Louis boasted loudly, "You're smaller than me! Thats why!" The grin upon my lips was larger and deeper than I've ever smiled possibly. Hearing his contagious laugh go in one ear and out the other made my smile even bigger. My cheeks began to hurt, I had to calm down on my insane happiness for a few moments.

My swinging began to get too high. It got to the point where I was nervous and I thought the whole playset would knock over. It's definitely happened before and it adds on to my anxious thoughts about it. I ended up doing what I did when I was younger and I jumped off the swing, landing on my feet and onto the grass surprisingly.

I turned around to face Louis, who was still very highly. His mouth was formed into an o once he noticed that I landed safely.

"Practice makes perfect, Partridge."

I bowed in front of him dramatically. I could barely see his eyes due to how dark the sky was, but the moonlight was bright enough for me to see him rolling his honey eyes.

He groaned, "You know I can't do that. You beat me." I smirked and watched him slow down on the swing, his feet finally hit the ground.

And before I could even say another word, Louis came charging at me. I didn't even have time to start running away, he wrapped his lengthy arms around my torso and picked me up off the ground a few inches.

"Let me down!" I started laughing loudly and tried slipping out of his tight embrace. He made his way back towards the swings and forced me to sit on one of them. The tall boy stood in front of me and both of his arms were placed on either hand rest. "Quit moving, I wanna make you go high again."

Sighing, I finally gave in for a minute. That was until Louis looked away for a moment and I could escape from him. I ran towards the tiny rock climbing wall to my left, hearing a gasp leave Louis' mouth behind me. I started to climb up it, even though I was a little taller than the playhouse that was built into the playset.

"You also know I can't go up there." Louis remarked, grabbing my ankle gently. I sat in the wooden clubhouse crosslegged, staring at a grumpy Louis who stood on the ground.

I smirked, "But you can." As I moved for him to sit beside me, he started climbing up the wall as well. It was greatly way too small for two teenagers to be sitting in it, but didn't give a care in the world.

We sat beside each other, our thighs and arms touching. Louis' head almost hit the roof amusingly, but we stayed in that spot, trying to catch our breath.

Randomly, Louis placed his chin on my right shoulder. I could feel his warm and minty breath blow against my neck, giving me goosebumps.

"You're warm." He confirmed. The boy scooted closer to me without care. But, there wasn't even enough room to move.

Our bodies were closer to each other's way more than they ever been before. My breath hitching, I felt that same pit in my stomach start to deepen. My chest breathed up and down like it was earlier in my room. I'll never understand why this boy makes me so damn nervous.

Even though my throat started to clog, I started to think of what I could say next to him. Overwhelming thoughts started to circle in my brain.

"When I was little, Sawyer pushed me off the top of the slide." Louis snickered and took his head off my shoulder. I started to inform him on random memories I've received on this same playset behind my Grandparent's house, with him listening to every bit of it oddly.

I pointed towards my chin, "I have a scar from it too." I tilted my head upwards and showed him the very visible scar that I gained when I was about 6 years old. "It's pretty badass, I know."

I'm not going to lie, he looked mighty fine being this close to me. I got to examine him up close and personal, even though both of our heads weren't facing each other most of the time.

"You haven't taken off your necklace?"

He pointed towards the Kendra Scott accessory around my neck and I shook my head in response. I added, "To shower, yes. But, other than that no."

Louis grinned with no teeth and nodded before his gaze went back onto my house in front of us. It was still lit up by Christmas lights and the inside lighting from the windows as well.

Like all good-looking guys, Louis has a crooked smile. I've never noticed it until now, because of how faint it is. But, it's personally admirable. It adds character.

Out of nowhere, he slipped the beanie off his head, revealing his head full of brunette hair that I oh so love dearly. He forcefully put it on my head for the second time today.

"It looks better on you anyways." Louis admitted, wiggling his eyebrows at me playfully. I chuckled and adjusted the hat so it would be more comfortable. "But, I've been meaning to ask you something I have no clue about."

I brought my knees to my chest and I held them, raising my eyebrow in the process.

"What are your hobbies, Ryan? You've literally never told me and your room gives no clues, so please enlighten me." A curious Louis protested. I shrugged my shoulders and thought about it for a bit. I honestly have no idea either.

I confessed, "Uh, I don't know. Um, I like to read?"

His happy face drops and he frowns at me. "That's it?" Once again, I shrugged at the boy.

"I mean, I don't know. I like to surf? It's not often I get to do that though."

He adjusted his spot on the wooden surface, "Okay. Well, once you figure it out, please let me know." His tiny wink towards the end made me grin uncontrollably. I hid my face in my hands and I leaned closer towards him.

"Are you blushing?" Louis teased, poking me in the side. His sneaky self knew what he was doing, like always. I shook my head, but I still hid my face. "You can't just wink at someone and expect them not to blush, Louis."

It's nice to be seen for once. Especially by someone of the opposite gender. And especially, romantically.

Can't he tell that I can't breathe?

My breathing is shallow, so it's pretty obvious how anxious I am in this moment. Hopefully as time goes on this changes and I won't be as nervous around him very soon. I wonder if I make him anxious too, he never really shows it though so it's difficult to tell.

He looked as if he was holding off from saying something. His hands were shaking and his foot tapped against the old wood. I glanced at my chipped nail polish and sighed. I probably need to get on that.

I was close to asking him if something was wrong. His face was now more pale than usual, it worried me. I placed my hand on top of his knee, trying to see if his expression would change. His gaze was on the random scenery in front of us. That was until a bubble practically burst.

"Be my girlfriend-" "Jesus Christ."

Louis turned his body to face me, he licked his lips.

"Just think about it, okay? I mean, we're practically dating already. I guess. I have no idea what to call us whenever people ask, because we like each other but we're not dating? I don't know, I know it sounds crazy, but just think about it."

Listening to the boy ramble on about reasons to why we should date brought happiness into my soul. I just stared at him, waiting for him to finish his useless reasons. In reality, he didn't need any. I was
going to say yes anyways, but I would rather let him finish first.

Louis continued, "I really like you. Like really like you. I know this is really informal to ask you, buy I had the urge to. And I know long distance is hard and it's fine if you don't want to do that, but-"

I stopped him through his rambling by shushing him. I watched his sweater covered chest go up and down, he continued to lick his lips. I'm guessing he's getting nervous, I lick my lips when I'm anxious as well. I let go off my knees that were still against my chest.

"You don't have to ramble, Louis. If you think I was going to say 'no' to you, you're insane." I reassured, his eyes widening in the process.

My body was overwhelmed by Louis crashing into me, giving me one of the biggest hugs I've ever received. The joyful boy made me fall on my back, he wrapped his arms around my neck. I snickered and squeezed back, of course. "Louis, I can't breathe."

He broke the embrace and helped me sit back up as he apologized multiple times. Wiping the wood particles off my hoodie, he calmed down a bit.

The two of us then sat there, looking at each other weirdly enough. We couldn't help, but burst into a pit of laughter.

Moments like these are my favorite. Where you laugh more than you ever dreamed of for no apparent reasoning.

I usually use this word incorrectly at Daniel, but I am such a simp for Louis Partridge. His awe, his presence, his everything. It's surreal to think about how now, me, Ryan Jade Darr, a random teenage girl who lives in California, is dating Louis fucking Partridge. It's not about him being an actor or anything of the sort. It's about him. The true him. Not the boy you see on the screen.

"Catch me if you can." I interrupted as I crawled towards my left, leaving Louis just sitting there in awe.

I slid down the slippery slide that was practically as large as me. Over the years I've definitely grown obviously. The two of us, acting like pure children, brought my smile to hurt my cheeks even more.

In the corner of my eye, I spotted Louis exiting by the rock-wall area. Squealing, I hit the bottom of the slide. Louis caught me and towered over me suddenly. His mischievous eyes stared into mine. It was practically burning into my skin. For a few moments, we stayed like that.

That was until I stood up, my face an inch way from his. I have to tilt my head upwards, of course, but I looked into his eyes, slowly leaning towards him even more. I hoped our second kiss right now wouldn't be too soon.

My breath hitched even rougher when his bottom lip brushed mine, I could feel my knees beginning to weaken.

I closed my eyes and gently pressed my lips to his, butterflies seemed to flutter in my stomach, my body seemed to fly. His hand went onto my chin, deepening the sudden kiss. My hand laced it's way onto his upper chest, resting there gracefully. I had no idea what to do with my hands anyways.

It felt odd being kissed. The first kiss we shared I made the first move, oddly enough. So, him being in control felt different. I'm not saying I don't like it, cause I obviously do. It's just damning and not something I'm used to.

With his free hand, he pushed my body against his forcefully. His palm rested on my lower back and I felt his thumb graze back and forth. This kiss didn't catch me off guard, but I wasn't expecting how intimate it would soon become.

Louis pulled away, but he didn't open his eyes and neither did I. We both tried catching our breath.

"That was um-" "Yeah."

We broke the kiss to say something, even though we still stayed so close to one another that we're mumbling into each other's mouths. Once we finally caught our breath, we completely devoured each other. I've never felt like how I felt in that moment. Especially since Louis' hand made it's way to my neck, gripping it a bit.

That definitely surprised me more than it should've. It wasn't something I expected from a boy like Louis, but I ignored it and let him.

It was all going amazingly. Other than the fact I started to loose my breath once again. That was until the nasty taste of metal came to my mouth, setting me off. I'm guessing Louis tasted it too since his puzzled self moved his head backwards.

"Oh my gosh." Louis cautioned, causing myself to start worrying. His brown widened eyes didn't help at all. "There's blood all over your face-"

I wiped my upper lip and brought it to my glance. My finger was covered in a red substance, also known as blood. My stomach dropped all the way to hell it felt like. I'm having a damn nose bleed.

That's when I noticed Louis' lower face had my blood all over it as well, disgustingly enough. Before I looked back up at him, I expected him to be upset, angry even. But, he was the complete opposite actually. His expression was of worry.

"Let's go- Um, inside?" Louis stammered, grabbing my left hand. My free hand was catching any excess blood that was pouring out of my nostrils. Droplets of it dropped into my palm as we made our way back towards my home, causing me to mentally scream.

Of course, it had to happen in that exact moment.

Our feet hit the front porch and Louis opened the front door quicker than I could think. I hoped to not get any red stains on my Mother's carpets once we entered my house.

Due to us being terribly loud as we entered, my Mom
came rushing into the entryway. Her pink checkered apron was upon her chest, I'm guessing she was in the middle of cooking dinner or something. The smell of chicken and grease also gave me a clue onto if she was or not.

There's no telling on what's most likely playing through her mind right now. Seeing her daughter and Louis ram into the house, blood covering both of their faces, must have brought her to a panic.

Louis and I scurried upstairs, trying to make it past her without her asking any questions.

She worried, "What in the hell-" We interrupted her in unison.

"NOTHING!"
