"Get up."

Visions of people surrounding me. Getting hit. Losing consciousness. I groan, rolling over slightly.

"Get up."

I open my eyes, and I'm greeted with a bright light. Lots of bright lights- I'm in a hallway. I sit up and take a look around. Hold on, a hallway? Why am I in a hallway? Why am I...

Wait. Who am I?

I can't remember my name. My face. My age. I search my brain, but nothing comes up. And I mean nothing. I'm completely blank.

"Kid, can you even hear me? I said get up."

I turn my head in the direction of the voice, which gives me a splitting headache. On top of some crates is a guy- but he's a weird looking guy. He's staring me down in the way a wolf looks at a sheep he's about to attack.

A mask covered the lower half of his face, but I got a basic idea of his expression. His hair, a weird silvery color even though he looked no older than twenty, glinted in the slightly flickering light. His arms were crossed judgmentally.

"So you can hear me. That's good. Now get up." He says, his voice a bit deeper than what I thought it would be compared to his appearance.

I shakily try to stand up, but I can't hold myself in any position other than sitting up. The gray-haired boy jumps down from the crates he was sitting on pretty much effortlessly, and extends his hand to me, just beyond the reach of the light. I take his hand and he pulls me up.

Even with that, I almost fell over. He mumbles something about "Must've been a hell of a beating" and pulls me up again, one of my arms over his shoulders for support. He walks along the side of the hall, and I notice him looking at the wall carefully. He runs his hand along the wall, like he's looking for something.

Before I realize I'm talking, I say "What's your name?"
He glances at me and says "Gray."
"Is that your first name or your last name?"
"It's enough name." He stops walking and presses on the wall, revealing a hidden door- I never would've found it on my own. It leads to another hallway, which is far more dimly lit. At the end is a door- a tightly sealed one at that.

"Hey, Gray? Where are we going?"
He sighs. "Outside." Then, when we reach the end of the hallway, he grabs my shoulders and looks me in the eyes.
"Listen, kid. Once we go out there, your chance of dying goes up by 90%. You're gonna do what I say- don't make any sounds, don't draw attention to yourself, and most of all, stay hidden. Got it?"

Of course, I have no idea what the hell this guy is talking about, but I nod anyway. I have quite literally no idea what's out there that's so dangerous. What's he worried about, the police? Is he a wanted criminal?

Before I could finish my train of thought, he opened the door. And what I was greeted with was anything but what I imagined.
